    I try to avoid most “stealerships” but the service guys at Joe Cotton Ford are all right. Most tend to exaggerate what needs to be done to your vehicle in order to get the most money they can out of you, but these guys are fair and honest. More importantly, look out for their clients.

    Where to begin! My wife and I recently ordered and purchased a new explorer and were met with extraordinary service.     I am so pleased with my Ford Edge and the experience of purchasing from Joe Cotton Ford. Jason was very helpful and patient with me as I made my decision. The entire staff was very welcoming and Jason has gone above my expectations of a sales person. My previous vehicle had zero bells and whistles so I am so thankful Jason took the time to explain what everything is and how it all works.     I purchased an F150 from another area dealer, and had something break less than 24 hours in. That dealer wouldnt fit me in to fix for a week. Joe Cotton's staff took me in that day, and express rushed the part to fix. Excellent service and made up the slack for poor service from another dealer. Buy and service at Joe Cotton.

    After reviewing price of car with a salesperson I was ready to buy but then a different salesperson told me if I wanted that car that it was in high demand and I would have to pay 10,000 over MSRP. No thanks

    Todd, Due to supply and demand and the limited availability of vehicles, we offered to order you one at MSRP, as soon as the order banks open. Unfortunately, an immediately available electric vehicle is selling for much higher in today's marketplace, either new or used. I know your wife spoke with my customer care agent to confirm the availability of the unit you were interested in. I have asked my sales managers to touch base with every customer coming in on specialty vehicles. During this time of extreme shortages, most vehicles are already sold out for the model year and cannot even be ordered. We take the steps to be transparent with our customers especially when they are driving from another state. We wanted to make you were aware of the market conditions so as not to waste your time, this is why our sales manager reached back out to be up front about pricing. I understand your frustration.     Had my Ford Flex serviced after buying it used a month ago. The AC had to be fixed before the purchase which they did but last week when it was hot outside I turned the AC on and it didn't work again. I was worried as I didn't buy an extended warranty but the service manager and Zac service advisor took care of it because it still wasn't working when I went to use it. They fixed it and also put notes on my service order that if I had any other problems they would fix it free of charge for me since I bought it with an AC issue. It was truly great knowing they stood behind there work. The buying process and service have been wonderful so far.

    Terrible place to buy a car at as well as get the car serviced and here is why. Former porter here, working as a porter there I've seen quite a few things that I wish I had taken pictures of that customers never get a look at. Cars would sometimes come in scratched up and as porters we were treated horribly and would be asked to find ways to cover these scratches on the cars and if we couldn't at times we would get yelled at about it. These same cars with the scratches would still be sold to the innocent customers that had no idea about any of this. I've even heard stories of a sharpie being used to cover a scratch on the bumper of a car. This place will go lengths to sell a car. They lie about the discounts being offered if they were to buy a car today and other lies such as limited stock numbers on certain cars when new shipments are constantly coming in. Specially with the elder that come in, its honestly sick. That's only covering the sales side of this dealer. Its also a terrible place to bring the car into for basic service due to the outrageous prices for such simple jobs that can be done for the fraction of the price at many other places. Cars would also be treated poorly at times with doors being slammed into the lifter. While I haven't seen this personally, I have also of heard cars being hit into objects but due to no visible damage customers were never informed. I wrote this review due to how shady this place is and how poorly they treated us as porters. My advice to anyone is to stay as far away from this place as possible. If you do decide to come here to purchase a car make sure to thoroughly inspect the car once the car is fully ready and ready to be driven off the lot. Also, don't buy into there sketchy lies, take as much time as needed before purchasing a car. They will do as much as they can to convince you and pressure you into buying a car. As for those bringing the car for service check for scratches as well and specially by where the door is. I also suggest refusing the car wash as it leaves scratches on the car specially on black cars. They never would clean the car wash machine.

    We had picked the car from the website to test drive when we got there! We each had a drive and fell in love with the 2021 Ford Explorer. Me especially since it was for me. I am a faithful Ford owner since 2004. Our salesman Mike was very informative and helpful on explaining the features on how to add the helpful apps and syncing my phone. Everything went smoothly. They also washed and sanitized my car before we left.

    I got a good price for the used vehicle I ended up buying. The main problem I have with this establishment is the level of disrespect I was shown as a woman. Multiple employees called me “little girl” and asked me if I “understood” what they were telling me.

    I have a very bad problem with my knees and use a walker to get around for a short amount of time. Joe Cotton has a flight of stairs to the waiting room while they service your car. Steps are impossible with a walker. I asked a service writer if they could give me a chair in the writers area. The answer was sure can. Not only did I get to sit there but got to talk to a few of the guys which made the wait more pleasing. When they finished my car they showed me the papers and asked how I would like to pay. I said put it on this card, he took the card went up the stairs to the cashier and came back and said everything is fine. Can't ask for better than that!!

    As a lifelong Ford customer I have dealt with many dealers in different capacities (some strictly sales, others service, some combined). The past 3 years I have visited a dealership in Chicago and experienced nothing but faulty repairs, false promises, and incompetent/inept upper management. The amount of my time that was wasted to date is unfathomable. Luckily, I found Joe Cotton Ford through a referral from a trusted friend and I am so glad I did. I travel 30+ miles to this dealership (from my home in Chicago) and will gladly do so for the unforeseeable future. Sam Byrd and Zach in the service department are outstanding and Joe (technician) is personable and top notch. Every time I have made an appointment they're on-time and ready for me. Their recommendations are honest and accurate. They follow through with communication when they say they will and genuinely care about their customers. I haven't been able to trust a dealership for a long time - but I feel like the tides have turned with Joe Cotton Ford. Kudos to everyone here.

    In this crazy economy with low inventory and many bait & switch dealers, they claim over the phone to be an MSRP only shop with no mark ups…..NOT TRUE! After repeatedly asking the salesman if there were any added costs to a specific vehicle that was on the their showroom floor (I was told no every time), I found a $6000 “Ford Surface Care” package added to the MSRP price when I saw it in person. They don’t seem to be an upfront dealer…..not sure if there are any left in this country. I look forward to the owner contacting me on this review as he has other reviews. ***UPDATE: Not long after my review I received a phone call from Pam Cotton to apologize for my experience with her dealer. She explained that their goal is not to mislead the customer and that they will change how their salespeople communicate with perspective customers as a result. I very much appreciated her caring tone and honesty with how the market has changed things for them. I may possibly give them another chance in the future. Thank you Pam!

    Not a fan. Just took my car out of winter storage, noticed some brake judder. I'm originally from Texas and I have no experience with this kind of thing so naturally I just brought the car in. My car just turned 10K miles since new and has never been driven in snow. Service advisor told me $1200 to replace brakes and rotors on both axles. He claimed rotors can get warped just from sitting and brake pads only last 10K miles. Some quick research revealed that even hard driven performance rotors should last at least 40K miles and brake pads at least 15K miles. Picked up my car (had to get a friend to bring me since they promised to send a shuttle that never arrived) took it out on some back roads to "bed in" the brakes - now it drives like a champ, no judder no nothing. Turns out that brakes can accumulate a thin coat of rust when car is stored over winter and rust can cause brake judder. It must be hard to rip people off anymore, thanks to the internet.

There was not a hint of the the all to typical deceptive practices experienced at other dealerships. I was treated fairly and they negotiated a very fair deal on my new F-150 as well as my trade-in.     Used to live this garage for their honesty and thoroughness. Now it’s completely the opposite since all their experiences staff retired. We took our 2013 Explorer in this summer prior to a big road trip and they gave us a honest review of the vehicle - what we should do short term (oil change, alignment) and long term (air conditioning system issues). When we brought it back in in December 2021 the new mechanic told us our tires were dry rotted (and we should pay double what other places charge) even though just 4 months earlier the tires were given an A OK, that the leaking we saw on our driveway is a 2 day job $3000 (while the book says it’s 6 hours max) and btw we discovered it actually isn’t the Explorer that was leaking but our sons beater car!! So they made up an issue that really doesn’t exist, Seriously?? Will NEVER go back there again with such dishonest and misleading mechanics. So sad as this used to be the best Ford garage around.

    I paid for extended warranty up to 100K miles which should cover repairs. I had my vehicle in a year ago and paid the deductible to have the issues I was experiencing corrected. A year later and my car is doing the same as before. I brought it in today and they told me they would run diagnostics and order parts if needed. I went home and received a call about 20 minutes later saying that they could not complete a full diagnostics due to the battery. We decided I would get the battery taken care of elsewhere as they wanted $200+ for their replacement and I would bring it back in following the replacement to do a full diagnostic. I came to pick my vehicle up and was informed I had a $155 diagnostic fee for a “diagnostic” that they couldn’t even run. He offered to do me a “favor” and only charge me $77. So, I am stuck with a $77 fee for a half completed diagnosis, and a recurring transmission/clutch issue as before on my 2017 vehicle. Transmission issues have been a recurring problem with the Ford vehicles that I have purchased and the service seems to get worse with time. Save yourself some money and forego purchasing any extended warranty as it seems to be worthless.

    I take my Ford Edge and Honda Accord to Joe Cotton for service because they are close by, reliable and with the coupons are cost competitive. In this case I had the Accord in for "the works" oil change. This includes synthetic oil change, tire rotation, diagnostic check and refill fluids. I scheduled an appointment, drop off was easy, we didn't wait and the car was done in about 2 hours. Another positive is that they did a car wash and I was able to use my points. However I was disappointed in two areas. One, the coupon and "the works" advertisement said synthetic oil. However when I asked the service tech he said it was a "synthetic blend". That was misleading. Second, I got no diagnostic info when I picked up the car. I was handed a receipt and told my car was in the lot. I don't know how the battery was or any other diagnostics of the car.

    I asked them to look into why my battery goes dead when my car just sits even within just a few days. I let them know ahead of time that the new stereo system that was installed in the car was not the issue because the battery drop problem existed long before the new stereo system was installed. All they did was plug in their diagnostic tool to confirm there is a battery draw and then they charged me $127 and told me that the problem was my stereo system... They could’ve easily disconnected it with one wire and proven that that was not the issue but instead they chose to just charge me and send me on my way. ****UPDATE**** So the next day after a discussion with the Service manager, they offered to have the car back in to dig in further. They were very apologetic and went out of their way to make this right. It actually took 3 days to find the problem because it was so intermittent but they did find it and soon my car will be good as new! Can’t wait! Big Thanks to Dave the Service Manager for taking care of me! They are now getting 5 stars because they took care of this and solved my problem!

    Always have a great experience at Joe Cotton Ford. My previous car needed an oil change, come to find out it had another major issues that they were able fix for me while I was there. I also most recently just purchased a pre-owned 2017 Ford Fiesta Titanium that I LOVE! Autumn and Jason Conn both were able to help me to find a car that I really loved while keeping me at a great price point. Going through finance with Mike was very easy and straight forward as well.     Sales Experience: I was in a rough position with a car I had bought from another dealer and needed to get out of it. Joe Cotton really helped me out and put me in a car I really wanted. They went above and beyond for me! I highly recommend their sales team. Service Experience: This is where Joe Cotton falls short. Even with an appointment to get a basic oil change, I had a wait time of two hours. The last time I had service I found trash in my car from the service reminder sticker and other paper, oil finger prints on touch points in the car, and an overall disappointing return of my car. I've also had a couple times where I could see them pull my car around front after service and it would sit there for twenty minutes before a service advisor would bring the paperwork to the cashier. Overall, their service department lacks the quality it's customers are looking for.

    We called to inquire about a Ford Explorer and we were greeted with a very enthusiastic response that made us feel our business was wanted. Upon entering the dealer, Rich escorted us right away to a desk. NO WAIT! He was very pleasant and easy to deal with. In this current economy where choice is a little more restricted for cars, we were still shown a beautiful Ford Explorer platinum that ticked all our boxes. Rich took time to explain all the feature the car had to offer and never once made us feel rushed to make a decision. He really knows his Fords! Michael gave us a fantastic deal from the start and even then worked with us to get to a number we were comfortable with.     Dishonest and unprofessional. I received a written offer, I sent a written acceptance and agreed to proceed with the purchase. Then all communication from the dealer went silent. They wouldn't respond to any phone messages, texts, or emails. The next day the very same vehicle is re-posted at a higher price. The salesman didn't even have the guts to call me to explain why they reneged on the deal. Pathetic. Unethical behavior like this gives all dealers a bad reputation.

    I had a great experience the day i brought in my New to me Escape for an oil change. The waiting room was set up for social distance. They had snacks and coffee/tea service available.
