After trying to find the perfect car shopping around, I finally found it! Cody was super helpful made the process super easy and went over the whole inside of my car with me to explain everything! Jim Bass Ford service department came through in a pinch. The brakes on my 2016 Ford Edge failed on a Saturday. Monday I called the dealership to schedule the brake recall service. Gabe, the Service Advisor, warned me that the shop was heavily scheduled and he could not guarantee getting my vehicle back. When I told him that I really needed it by Thursday so my wife could drive to Amarillo for our niece's high school graduation, Gabe and the other technicians were able to squeeze my vehicle in, complete the recall service and get it back to us in time for my wife to make that drive. I'm very grateful that they did so, and very impressed that they didn't just fall back on "we're busy and will get to it when we can." I would highly recommend taking your Ford to Jim Bass for service.

We were able to get in, get my car fixed and get out of there quickly and without hassle. Hands down the easiest trip to a service department I've ever had. Bought my 4th Ford truck after my third was totaled from a hit and run. Staff has always been friendly and helpful in finding just the right truck. Even with such a small inventory. Just wish they would have had some good incentives.

I have used Jim Bass ford since 1990 to buy all my vehicles and never had a problem however, we took our vehicle in with an appointment to the service department, which was definitely the worst experience I have had. Just know do not ask for a supervisor if you are not happy. You will be told to BE QUIET and you cannot speak to one until that person finished well thank god for the hang up button. I guess I will be looking elsewhere for my new vehicle and for my current vehicles to be serviced.
Mr. Moreno, I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. But I am Very confused. I was the manager that spoke to you. I called you and thought we had a very polite, professional conversation. I never interrupted you, or stopped you from speaking to me about your concern. I did tell you that I did not have any knowledge about the status of your vehicle and would have Mitchell call you within five minutes. He did just that. I stood there as he tried to speak to you. He was very polite, mostly" yes sir...yes sir." All he could say was that "as I told you yesterday sir... we are running behind, but I'll get your vehicle looked at as soon as possible." You had brought your vehicle in the day before and Mitchell had already explained that we were running a couple of weeks behind at that time. He said he would do what he could to get it looked at sooner. On the second day, we had your vehicle diagnosed. Mitchell texted you to let you know the problem (diagnosing does take time) and to get an approval from you. On a recent trip to San Angelo Texas from Colorado the "check engine" light on our 2015 Ford F-150 came on. A similar situation in Montana last summer ended in a 60 mile tow job and a $1000.00 car rental bill. We feared the same although the truck was running fine at the time. I called Jim Bass Ford and was put in touch with Gabe Martinez in their service department. It was the Monday of the President's Day weekend holiday and I was afraid a dealership might not be open. Gabe got me in for a code diagnosis within now hour. Another hour later the problem was fixed and there was "NO CHARGE". When does that happen?...!!! It turns out the same code (emission purge valve failure) was 'thrown' in Denver three months before and was supposedly repaired. I had my invoice from that service visit and Gabe cancelled charges for the returning problem. At 80K miles ones expects some issues but when it happens far from home it seems worse. We were in San Angelo to distribute the ashes of my wife's mother who had passed away last November. The trip was stressful enough for many reasons and Jim Bass Ford saved the day. Gabe's kindness, professionalism and knowledge has earned him the name "Angel Gabriel". Thanks to all who helped..you won't soon be forgotten.

I purchased a higher end ford battery and had it installed at local dealership back home. They convinced me to buy a high end battery, in part because of the simplicity involved in replacing it if it went bad. I brought my vehicle to this dealership and had my battery tested. The kid who tested it said it was time to replace it, I said great it is still 100% covered by warranty. I spoke to a lady in the service department about getting my new battery and she said they would need to keep my vehicle for 3 hours to further test the bad battery? When I left without a battery, I called the motocraft customer service line and told them what had happened and asked how to get my new battery that has been promised to me under warranty? The lady on the phone asked if they had offered me a loaner battery or vehicle, I told her they did not. In my one experience, they didn't stand behind there own products and had very poor customer service. Buyer beware... Heading to Walmart for a new battery, they actually stand behind the products they sell and after a little research I found the same company that makes batteries for Walmart also makes them for motocraft so a better choice all around. I'm sorry Jim but you lost one potential customer here. New Ford next year, probably make a day trip to Austin to buy it.
Chris Griffith, You were told by our parts department that you would have to bring the vehicle in for testing and that you would need to have the "original" receipt, in order for the battery to be warrantied. In order for any battery to be replaced, it has to be checked on the authorized Ford battery tester. One of our porters was sent out with a hand held tester for an initial check just to make sure the battery is requiring use of the authorized tester. You had arrived just before 5:00 P.M. and this test usually requires the battery in question to go through the testing procedure. Unfortunately, you did not have the original paper receipt, and could not leave the vehicle with us. You were offered a shuttle ride and you declined that as well. We understand that it is an inconvenience when a vehicle needs repairs. In this case, we would have had to have gone through the procedures and had the original receipt, as required by Ford Motor Company Warranty and Policy. Jim Bass Ford had my truck for literally a month. It wasn't their fault. It was due to a warranty company dragging their feet. Gabe took care of all the steps along the way, and put up with me calling quite frequently trying to get the warranty company going. Gabe always took care of everything for me. Once the warranty company gave the ok to repair, in which they ONLY covered about 50% of, Gabe and the Service folks had my truck back to me in a week or so. AC (and other things) fixed just in time for this summer heat!

For Christmas I ordered my wife a Lincoln Aviator knowing there were timelines with manufactures procuring chips. Shannon Fay is the salesman I ordered the suv with. Dana Tomlinson (Sales Manager) ordered my wife’s vehicle for us. Shannon and Dana kept me abreast of production and expected delivery dates (which Lincoln beat their estimated timeline). Shannon called and we set a time to “do the deal”. Shannon worked with Aaron Terry to get us where we felt comfortable in our trade-in value. Trey Jordan helped us discover some neat options like protection inside/outside of my wife’s Aviator. Chon Munoz was our Finance Manager that whisked us through the process while also being very detailed. Joe Israel is the Lincoln Concierge and was also helpful with our understanding of the Lincoln owners benefits. What a hell off a team. All these guys being pieces of assisting us with our purchase. Ford was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and personal. Took time to try to figure out what the problem was after we got our brakes fixed. That they kept our car a little longer to really figure out what happened. Then fixed the problem and now pur brakes are working like brand new.

We have bought several used vehicles here over the years. Our latest purchase was on Black Friday 2019. We were literally in and out the door in about three hours. It’s never a hassle because we have good credit and we do our homework before we arrive, knowing just what we want to look at and test drive. We are never badgered to look at something else or something more expensive. We are always happy with our automobiles and will probably use them again for a vehicle purchase. I also use their service department for oil changes and maintenance and at 109,000 miles my vehicle is still going strong. Highly recommend.

From start to finish, this was perhaps, my best vehicle buying experience. I made a long-distance purchase from 2 states away. I saw the vehicle I wanted, an F-250 Lariat, on the Jim Bass Ford Website. I called and spoke with Corey Wright, one of the sales team members. After answering a few questions about the vehicle (it was still in transit to the dealership) I asked if I could place a hold on the vehicle. I was told immediately that I could place a deposit and that they would hold the vehicle until I was ready to close the deal. Once the truck arrived at the dealership, Corey called to confirm a couple of equipment details that I had asked him to confirm early on but could not be answered until the truck actually arrived. Once I confirmed that this was, in fact, the truck I wanted, I asked Corey to coordinate installing a spray-in bedliner and turn-over ball for a gooseneck. My wife and I flew to San Angelo this past Saturday. Corey picked us up at the Airport and transported us back to the dealership where we met Chon. Chon went over the purchase details to make sure there were no surprises. There were none! Smoothest closing ever! Thanks to Corey Wright for his positive attitude and for his unflappable determination to make sure everything went as planned. He is in all ways a most pleasant young man. Chon (10 years with the dealership) was equally pleasant and accommodating, sending us on our way back to Mississippi with a suggestion that we stop at Henrys Diner before leaving San Angelo. Again, we were not disappointed. The place is okay. Haven't had the best experience yet. Have been trying for over a couple weeks to set up an appointment to get my car door fixed after my car had a "recall" on the handles, and now my door does not open from the inside. Have been trying to get a hold of the manager since he was the one that "fixed" my doors after the recall and conveniently enough, he has not been there... Overall the place is not bad. There's a lot of friendly employees willing to help, however the place is so short staffed at the moment it's incredible how things get done.

This place is awful. They only care about money!!!!! I will never be going back. I took my vehicle in and I wasn't sure if my warranty was up for the bumper to bumper portion of it (which it was). They ran my car through a diagnostic check, that was the first time i brought my car in. I got a call after the diagnostics that it was going to be $600 to fix my A/C. I told him that i was going to get a second opinion and he said okay and told me to come get my car. When i went inside to get my keys I thought everything was all good and i was just going to pick my car up. Then the guy made it news to me that the diagnostic test was going to be $160 (after they had already done it). In my opinion, I think the guy got upset that i was going to get a second opinion when he realized that i wasn't going to get service through them. I'm so surprised that i bought my car from them in 2018 brand new and they will still charge you for a diagnostic test without telling up front.
Sir, our advisors are trained to let you know about diagnostic fees. There is not a repair facility around that does not charge a customer for diagnostic testing. I am sorry that you aren't happy with the price of the repair and we do not get upset when someone chooses to take their vehicle to another shop for repairs. Quite frankly, some independents charge a lot less, but use aftermarket parts that are not as good, nor have the warranty that Mazda parts carry. This is why we use original equipment replacement parts from the manufacturer. If you decide you would like to have us do the repair, we will apply the diagnostic fee to the repair. Thank you.

An example of my experience with him at Jim Bass: Normally I wouldn't write a review but he left a long lasting great impression on me that I have shared with everyone. He sent me an email reminder hours before my scheduled appointment. I am a detail oriented person so that mattered to me that he set a scheduled time. He had a lot of patience to deal with me being indecisive between several vehicles and and pricing. I don't like overly pushy car salesmen and he did the oppose of every salesman I've dealt with previously. He listened to my needs and didn't just try to secure the first car I asked about. He was down to earth and knows that buying a car can be a challenging experience. If all dealerships hired individuals with his type of style, I guarantee their sales would increase tremendously. He himself is a family oriented person and helped me secure a vehicle that was an adequate fit for my teenage boys. He also didn't let silence take up space by this I mean he can carry on a conversation. Buying a car can be frustrating but having someone that can sympathize with your experience is interesting. I am 39 years old and Jim Bass Ford was the best car buying experience I have ever had in my entire life hands down. I found a truck online on a Thursday, by Thursday afternoon I was on the road driving 8 hours to go get the truck. Friday morning I was at the door right when they opened. They had the truck out front waiting, they looked at my trade in immediately, and they already had all the finance paperwork printed out and waiting. I was in and out, back on the road within an hour. They gave me a fair trade in value, they got me fair financing, and the price of my new truck was more than fair. Honest, hard working texans who exemplify the customer comes first values... I would drive 40 hours to get another car buying experience like that. Mr. Bass would be very proud of you...

Just like the Nissan dealership they own Ford rather leave you on hold for well over an hour when you have a simple question for them. They don’t care about the customers they only care about the money. Starting to seem typical of vehicle company’s in San Angelo. It’s truly a shame. Where has the customer service gone?

Bought two vehicles a truck and car- buying experience was very good. They had us sign off on hail damage. The salesman said the damage could only be seen with a special light- after the vehicle was cleaned (after the sale was complete) I found this not to be true- without the vehicle being cleaned the damage could not be seen- if I would have noticed the damage, I would have renegotiated the deal- I think this was a poor business practice. I guess the old adage “Buyer Beware” fits here- I love the truck and car but think this was unfair and will keep me from referring others
Some of our inventory has been affected by hail damage, this is why we discounted the vehicle to get to our agreed upon price. Before signing any documents in finance, we inform our customers and have them sign a form acknowledging that there is hail damage and that we are or are not repairing it. Based on your signed document we were not responsible repairing your vehicle. Furthermore, we offered to cancel your purchase the next day when we found out that you weren't happy. At that point, you decided that you were happy with your purchase and would not like to return the vehicle. We strive to meet our customers expectations and we clearly wanted to make matters right.

I've purchased 2 vehicles from this place and my family has purchased 5. I've got several shout outs: Sales team is great. Angel has been my family's salesman a few times and he's fantastic. The finance team is upfront and provides me/us with all the info we need and I've always gotten the best deal. The service department has been great, they are backed up at the moment, but I haven't had a bad experience yet. The last time I was there, I met the manager of the marketing department and also spoke with the General Manager. They both thanked me for my business and congratulated me on my purchase. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a car/truck/SUV.

Let's be realistic: There's always something about new car dealerships that strikes fear (and loathing) in the hearts of prospective buyers. Most of the time our fears of the car-buying process are proven to be not as bad as we'd conjured them to be. Jim Bass Ford, however, is the exception. Their foundational goal is to give their customers an exceptional experience from the time they start shopping to delivery. I worked with a long time, experienced salesman and the process went exactly as I expected, which was awesome. We recently bought a new Ford Bronco. Aside from a markup from the MSRP (hated to pay it, but loved to have the Bronco more without a ridiculous wait to build one) the whole experience was pleasant. During my first time ever buying a car, Cory came sprinting out to my me and my mom were driving around the lot looking at various new cars. I was not expecting to buy a car that day but Cory really did his all to get me the best deal so that I could go home with the car I wanted. Cory was so patient and great during my first car purchase that I ended up going back later to order the new 2022 Ford Bronco. Needless to say the Bronco came in way earlier than expected and there were ALOT of things that came up but through it all Cory did an outstanding job of not only helping me purchase the new 2022 Ford Bronco but also putting my feelings and emotions about the whole situation into consideration. He is the sole reason I went back after my first car purchase and placed the order on the 2022 Bronco. Had a great experience at Jim Bass Ford. It was our first time purchasing a used vehicle here and we went in knowing what we wanted. We were in and out in about 3 hours. Oil change and State inspection service - It was just fine. Even with an appointment be ready to wait abou an hour and a half. Guess it takes some time for all of the checks they do. Anyway, the service was fine and I'll use them for all of my 2015 Ford F150 services.

My wife took her 2005 Ford Expedition in because it was running poorly, Gab kept us updated with the diagnosis and when they had to order parts, they let us use it while waiting for parts. Gab called us when the parts came in and made an appointment for us the following morning, The car was repaired using the new parts an Gabriel called us before noon to say the car was ready. This is the kind of service I always receive at Jim Bass Ford and have grown to expect it. Both my Ford vehicles have all maintenance performed at Jim Bass including new tires and batteries as needed.

Worst car buying experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few. I was on the one yard line in buying a car and they sold it to someone else, they wasted my valuable time and energy. I get these are different times, it’s a seller’s market but they don’t have to treat customers that way. I guess they want their sales staff competing in a cut throat culture. I’ll find another dealership that has better customer service.

At the point you decided to switch to another vehicle, we informed you that we could not hold this vehicle due to another customer who had been working on purchasing it for several days. In fact, if we did hold vehicles then that vehicle would not have been available for you to inquire, because our customers were driving in from out of town to purchase it. However, the vehicle that you originally had agreed to purchase is still available as of right now, so please let us know if you would like to switch back to that one.

I had Angel as my salesmen and he was beyond amazing, he went above and beyond to make sure the Edge was the vehicle for me. I wasn’t able to get away from my desk and he did a FaceTime walkthrough with me, and if I wanted to double check something he had zero issue walking right back out to check it. Paperwork was super easy and fast, everything was explained and then I was asked if I needed another explanation on anything.

My review here is regarding the parts department. It's not built for the DIY mechanic. You are left to stand at an abandoned counter, and let them come back and forth asking questions and bringing printouts about what you need instead of standing there with them while they try to find this information. It just feels very impersonal and not the kind of experience I enjoy. (And they were this way pre-covid, so that's not the reason either)

Unable to make a deal with the Bass folks. They didn't want to give me Kelly trade in blue book value on my vehicle and they would not budge on the MSRP of their vehicle. The salesmen were helpful in test driving various vehicles. Everyone was nice except we just couldn't make a deal.

Couldn’t make a deal because these guys are way under KBB for trades and they’re doing the hip new scalping thing that you see some dealers calling “market adjusted pricing” where they charge roughly 10% over MSRP. I did a little shopping around, and ended up driving 2 hours west to Odessa to save a couple grand, because they aren’t price gouging out there.

Words cannot represent the wonderful experience we had and the professionalism shown to us! Love our new car and love our experience. From our first time speaking with the dealer NOT ONCE did they pressure, pester, or waste my time. Further my phone calls were returned timely, my text were returned quickly, emails were sent when promised. I cannot represent enough in words the complete satisfaction we feel in this purchase. Also, on the day we were supposed to pick-up our new car my wife was ill and could not travel. Guess what - I called and offered to wire the funds and asked if they would just sat my vehicle on the back lot until we were able to travel (maybe a week or two) and my salesman Anthony brought the vehicle all the way to our home three hours away!!!!! NOW THAT IS TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE. Trust them and you will be pleased.

I personally give Jim Bass Ford 5 stars because I recently bought my 2020 F250 and I am very satisfied with the service I received from the members of the dealer especially the salesman that attended me Braulio Figueroa, he is very professional. I have purchased two cars from Jim Bass Ford/ Nissan in San Angelo, Tx. I traded in and purchased new vehicles both times and was treated professionally and the process went fairly quickly. I had most of my questions answered. I did ask several online and through chat but was not answered completely. I felt like the first time I was given a fair amount for my trade in. The 2nd time I purchased I felt like I was given a very low amount for my trade in. It was explained it was the best they could do since my trade in had previous hail damage and this would show on the car fax. Eventhough the vehicle had 100% been repaired and was in excellent condition, I was only offered $15,000. The dealership is now trying to sell the vehicle for $26999 on the website. I do not think I received a fair trade in value or an honest exchange was given about this and reason for the score of 3.

We told them we wanted a new small truck with certain features and, unlike other dealers in town, they delivered. Other dealerships didn’t seem to listen to what we wanted and kept trying to sell us a used car when we specifically asked for new only. Would recommend to friends and family.
