We feel so grateful that we were connected with Homestead Real Estate when we booked our rental. Everyone at Homestead was very friendly and helpful with everything from details about the rental to best spots to grab a bite to eat. This is a wonderful family business. We would absolutely recommend taking advantage of the linen service - it's so reasonable and the sheets were super soft. We will certainly be using them for a rental next summer!

We have used Homestead Real Estate in Cape May for our summer rentals for many years. They have always been awesome, but last year they really hit a home run for us in helping us select an amazing house. The house was so amazing that we rented it again this year and will rent it again next year. Homestead, in addition to being incredibly professional is amazingly customer-oriented and responsive. Last year within two hours of our arriving at the house our microwave went on the fritz - it was replaced within an hour. Similarly, we could not crack the code on our beach box lock - the lock was replaced immediately! This year, although we did not have any equipment malfunctions, we had occasion to receive several Amazon deliveries - we were notified the moment the packages were dropped off and were able to pick them up at the office immediately. Homestead keeps in close contact with the renters which is fabulous. The check in and check out processes are flawless, although we wish that check in was a bit earlier (now at 4 PM) and check out a bit later (now 10AM!). We recommend Homestead Real Estate without reservation!

Homestead Real Estate is wonderful to work with. The rental process is seamless and the team is very responsive and helpful. We were fortunate to rent the Marlin House for our 2020 Thanksgiving family vacation. Our visit was extra special since we had not seen our family in 11 months. The house and property exceeded my expectations. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. The house is beautiful, spacious, and well equipped and is located in the historic heart of Cape May. The house is located next door to the Emlen Physick Estate on historic Washington Street, convenient for all the main attractions in Cape May. It is also a close walk to the beach. The house is impeccably maintained, well-furnished, and was very clean. The owners gifted us with a bottle of wine and a jar of local honey. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their home and it is a welcoming place to stay. Thank you for opening your home to your guests and furry friend. Service, the location of the home we rented, amenities in the rental home, neighborhood and what not! This was the best place to stay, visit and explore! Carol and Annika were fantastic from the first call I made with a question about the home we eventually rented. During the process of booking, during our stay there and even at the check out (after they made their money :-)); the team homestead was just fabulous and amazing to deal with. I would strongly recommend that check them before you check a hotel or any other rental services. The choices of the homes they offer for rentals are very wide and you would definitely find that fits your budget and schedule. They even offer payment plans if you want to book in advance and pay them in installments. One of the BEST people, BEST place and BEST vacation my family enjoyed. The house was cleaned by them according to Covid-19 guidelines and they even had two big bottles of sanitizers in the house when we walked in. Give them a try and you will not regret. A great selection of rental properties. I found this agency on a web site about birding at Cape May and decided to check it out. Helpful staff on phone. Very positive experience with renting a pet friendly property recently. The property I rented was clean and inviting. Owners provided throws for covering furniture. My pets loved it. Surrounded by trees, yet the home was sunny inside because of all the windows. A short distance to bay, beach, Lake Lilly, close to Cape May City and more. Had a great time. Hope to come back soon!

Very easy to deal with whether over the phone, or in person. The place itself is conveniently located in the main part of town. The cottage we rented was super clean. It was so nice to have a welcome pack with map, etc. the basket on the counter was great. It included a dish wash cloth, scrubbing sponge, dishwasher tablets, a small bottle of Dawn dishwashing soap, and laundry tablets. Plenty of supplies such as toilet paper and paper towels. On trash & recycling days, it was like a ghost put these cans out to the curb. Someone from the real estate did this while we were out. Lol. We would definitely rent, etc. through this real estate in the future. Thank you for the wonderful week that we stayed! Bob & Joann W.

Was told all bids final at designated time. Was told our offer was accepted over several other bids. Signed contract only to be informed that they accepted a bid after the allotted time by a real estate Agent who used her commission as part of deal to assure taking home from us. Most unethical unprofessional move possible. Would never treat people like that with lies and deceptions.
Dear Mr. Haber: I’m so very sorry that you think we in any way would deceive you or lie to you as you state in this review. Mr. Haber, may I make it clear that you were not represented by Homestead Real Estate Company. Please note that you were represented in a Buyers Agency Representation was with Century 21 Gilmartin. I think that you need to go back and understand the process with your agent, perhaps you were misinformed or misunderstood, when you were told that all bids were final. The amazing market that we are experiencing has come down to almost all sale properties going to “best and final offer” periods. The particular property that you were involved in a bidding war, that was listed by our company, was a magnificent waterfront property that was in HUGE demand. We received multiple offers including your offer. We gave a timeline to all the agents involved to submit their clients best and final offers. The day of the best and final it came down to your offer as being accepted verbally after multiple offers were submitted. Remember………that offer was never signed by our seller. You may have signed the offer, but our Seller did not sign the offer. In this fast-paced electronic age quick signatures and turn around is the norm however this seller is not technologically savy and needed to arrive in person to sign. Please remember even IF you had a signed contract by the Seller at any time during the three-day Attorney Review Period that contract could have been cancelled by either party for any reason whatsoever so NOTHING is ever final until the closing has taken place and escrow is completed. In the meantime, one of the offers that had lost out in the best and final came back and made another offer. That person/buyer just so happened to be a Real Estate Agent purchasing the home for herself. The agent submitted a new offer even before we were able to meet with our Seller to have your offer signed. We were equally as shocked as you to receive a newly revised offer. We were quite pleased for our Sellers sake since it was in the Sellers best interest to entertain the newly submitted offer which terms and offer price far outweighed your verbally accepted offer. We had an OBLIGATION by law to present all offers. You had insinuated that our office had the offer and that is not true the buyer/agent was from another office. We received the newly submitted offer and met with our Seller to explain what we thought would be the fairest and quite frankly the kindest thing to do before accepting the new offer. Mr. Haber, we suggested to our seller that we allow YOU to match the new offer and suggested that we give you the opportunity to have an addendum to your original offer be submitted with the matching offer price change by your attorney. This suggestion was in YOUR best interest and would have eliminated the Attorney Review Period all together once all parties had signed. The Sellers agreed to allow you to match the newly submitted offer and agreed to our recommendation. Mr. Haber, WE suggested that the kind and fair thing to do was to go back to you and give you the opportunity to match the newly presented much higher offer. YOU sir chose not to accept this, in addition we offered to show your agent the newly submitted offer and we sir, attempted to be as transparent as possible. We gave you more courtesy than was required allowing you to be able to purchase this home. You fail to mention in this review that you were given this opportunity. Mr. Haber you mention lies and deception, and nothing could be further from the truth. We apologize if you think we took advantage of you and hope that from this response you can see the facts more clearly. Mr. Haber, should you like more clarification we would gladly welcome a sit-down face to face allowing you a fully transparent look into our files. If you would like to discuss the manner in which this was handled we welcome the oportunity.
