    Really a trash company. Have never had a late payment in decades. They had an issue with their computer system and my auto payment was not withdrawn. Instead of making it correct they will not take responsibility. I highly would recommend getting a loan anywhere else.

    Bureaucratic process with red tape for simple matters in managing the mortgage they give you. Reps are kind yet the process is convoluted, slow, inefficient once you get your mortgage with Homepoint. I do not recommend getting your mortgage with Homepoint , whatsoever. It does not seem that the seemingly biased 5-4 star reviews here reflect the true negative experience a client with a mortgage might live with them.

    Please don't utilize them for refi. I started with them at the end of July with great credit and never closed. The communication is subpar and my numbers changed several times. They took so long to refi my mortgage was sold and now I have to start all over and refi with a new company of my choice cause who knows the trash company they sold my mortgage too. Contacts were Eric, and Labrittany just ridiculous

    I have done couple loans with Cathy Bonfiglio and team, they are very prompt, professional, honest and emphatic dealing with their clients, I would go back to them without any hesitation, their pricing was very competitive, both loans were done on time. I am a self employed, obliviously my loans are much complicated compare to a loan from a W2 person. Great job Cathy and Team, keep up the good work!!

    Pathetic service!! Struggle for for more than a month to get even our money from Escrow account. Team is not friendly and processes are long & bad. Emails are not even responded. Would never recommend anyone!!

    Absolutely terrible & horrible experience I ever had with any mortgage co’s. Not all the CS are nice, they will cut you off while you are talking & they sounded like just woke up or don’t want to talk to you and get of the phone and leave me alone! Refinance?! Hell no! I am still waiting for one of them to contact me and been 60 days! This is not your mortgage company; this is one of those 3RD PARTY DEBT COLLECTION company. YES, I am working with different bank to refinance it and I am getting hack out! Here!

    I had 2 rates locked (which were competitive with each other) when I was offered an even better rate (with lower costs) by HomePlus. It was so much better (saving me out-of-pocket over $8,000 on a $700,000 loan) that I could not ignore it. The lenders who had me rate locked tried to match or beat but could not come close to even matching the rate offered by HomePlus. This got me a little nervous that it was too good to be true and that if no one can come close there may be a glitch in the pipeline that would give me a "surprise fee" after being too far in the process to back out. But everything went at lightening speed, no hiccoughs, the fees were actually less on the final paperwork and my loan FUNDED in 22 days from first introduction. I have absolutely no complaints about anything from this company.

    I am a new customer to Home Point and I have 2 mortgage loans with them. Initially I tried to set up payments online but was given an erroneous loan number. I called customer service and had the matter cleared up by a very knowledgeable young lady named Rashalia. She corrected the matter and gave excellent advice on auto pay and my escrow balances. She is a real asset to Home Point and left me with an excellent impression of the company.

    Home Point has done an amazing job for me with underwriting and getting a CTC on time. One turned in now is a refi, and they will have it completed in less than a month! Unheard of right now during the massive amount of refinances coming through. Great work!     I have a mortgage with this company but when I called to refinance, they weren't very helpful, or I can say not helpful at all. I called two times and they said someone will call me back but never received a single call then I emailed. I was told, someone will get back to me within 30 days and two months later still no call. I guess once you become their customer, they do not care well I'm taking my business elsewhere.

    I have been trying to handle an issue with my property taxes and escrow through Home Point Financial for several months now. This company has basically doubled my mortgage payment as of June 2022 because they are charging me for my property taxes as well as my other 2 neighbors property taxes. I live in 1 unit out of a 3 unit condo association. Because it was new construction there was a collective property tax bill that was supposed to be split amongst my neighbors and I for 2021. Home Point Financial however wrongfully paid the entire property tax bill and now assumes I have to pay the entire collective property tax bill this year again, hence why my mortgage payment more than doubled. The county I live in will not be splitting the collective property tax bill until October 2022. Despite furnishing important documents such as my closing documents, title, deed, 2022 official appraisal, etc. Home Point Financial refuses to acknowledge the fact that I am not responsible for the collective property tax bill, and that it is supposed to be split. until an individual property tax bill is generated by the county in October 2022, HPFC refuses to correct their mistakes and expects me to cover my neighbors property taxes for the next 5 months. I have always paid my mortgage payments on time and have great credit. Because of HPFC I am getting a late fee and my credit score affected because I can’t afford to pay my neighbors’ property taxes on top of my own. I submitted complaints to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Better Businness Bureau for their deceptive and predatory lending practices. On top of all that, I just received a letter in the mail today on June 18, 2022 from HPFC that they are selling my loan to another mortgage servicer as of July 1st, 2022. This company is basically trying to avoid and relinquish any responsibility for the issue they’re causing by selling off my mortgage in the midst of this. Home Point Financial is an irresponsible and predatory mortgage servicer that feigns being helpful and proactive. Their systems/processes and representatives are a farce and do not help borrowers at all, except when it’s to charge them more. If I could give a negative 5 stars, I would.

    I wanted to take a minute to share my experience with Home Point Financial. I recently refinanced 6 of my clients on the VA and FHA Streamline programs. Their pricing was better than all the lenders that I priced them with. My Rep Jenny Gibbons really treated me like I was number 1 in her book. She coached me all along the way. She answered my emails at all hours of the day and night. She was helpful and knowledgeable and really went above and beyond the call of duty and held my hand the whole way. And to put icing on the cake she gave me 20 free days on my rate lock at the end because I needed more time to get me conditions in. They really did an outstanding job and I have uploaded even more loans with them this week. Looking forward to many more loans to come. Thank you Jenny Gibbons, you ROCK!!!!

    My mortgage was sold to this company and immediately they somehow lost track of the first payment and wanted a double payment. This took a month to settle. I figured no big deal they fixed the issue, then when I changed insurance companies they said I never submitted proof. I have records indicating I did and even have emails showing my agent sent them to their insurance department. Home point took it upon themselves to purchase a policy on my behalf at the cost of nearly 1300 per year. This is almost 2.5 times what I am currently paying for inferior coverage. You can never reach anyone on the phone and if you do it’s after waiting for 30 minutes on hold. I can’t wait to refinance and get out from under this company

    BUYER BEWARE!!! I chose to do business with HPF initially because they offered the ability to recast the mortgage for my new home purchase after a few payments. This plan fit my circumstances well so I could purchase a new home, move and then sell my previous home without having to compress everything into one transaction. Unfortunately, when I was ready to roll the proceeds from the sale of my previous home into my existing new home mortgage with HPF and have them recast my payments I learned how difficult to work with and disorganized HPF truly is. Simply put, HPF has horrible customer service and poor follow-through. The Recast Department never responded to my numerous requests to recast my loan until they were informed that I was going to refinance my mortgage with another lender. Beyond that the people I was able to reach to discuss my request were rude, ignorant on the subject, or they never followed through with what they promised. A week or more would go by without getting any response via email or phone despite leaving numerous messages. I would then have to endure long hold times just to be able to start over with someone new. Overall the people I spoke with acted as if they were doing me a favor to follow through with their established loan recast process. They weren't doing me a favor. They were trying to squeeze more interest out of me beyond what I would have had to pay if they had responded to my initial request in a timely manner. As such, I'm now no longer with HPF. I refinanced my mortgage with a new lender at a better rate and with a shorter term. And yes I incurred some additional cost to refinance, but the lower rate and shorter term will payoff the move in less than 2 years. Additional upside - no HPF! Big win for me after putting up with ridiculous frustration and business practices that were sketchy at best. Bad customer service is never a good long-term business model. I'm sure this seems obvious, but apparently not to everyone. Thankfully, HPF is not my problem any more and hopefully not yours either. Do yourself a favor. If you have a different financing option, go elsewhere. I would not give a star if it were possible to leave a review without it.

    Home point is a great refi lender. I had a borrower that had multiple investment properties on an adjustable rate 5.5%+. Most of the lenders I brought this file to required more cash reserve than borrower had on hand. Home point was able to approve the refi and fund it with just DU findings and not extra reserves for rental income like most lenders require. I was able to find my borrower a low fixed interest rate with low closing costs. Borrower was happy with the end product.

    First, Jodi is a PRO! Does she ever stop working? Easy to find and if she doesn't know the answer(rare), you can bet you will get "guideline" correct answers in short order. Urgent help needed on a file, you want her on your team! It takes more than just great rates/pricing- 5 stars to her associates too, it takes a gang to close loans.
