Heritage Bank NA 1st St, Willmar

I got a loan through this bank about 4 years ago as a friend of a friend was working in the loan department. I have regretted it ever since. The loan rates are ridiculously high to start with, but me being young with little credit history didn’t know any better. I have had numerous issues since. My payments are consistently taken out of my account days late for no reason. I’ve contacted them regarding this and they couldn’t give me a reason why my payments get delayed. To make it better, there’s no consistency with time of day loan payments are withdrawn from my account- sometimes it’s late at night and other times it’s before the bank even opens. They never reach out regarding payment or account issues either, they just let it go until the customer realizes there’s been a mistake. I’m currently dealing with a payment not being withdrawn last month(after being sent an account details list showing the payment went through on their end)a payment that hasn’t been withdrawn this month, and somehow I’m being charged for it. I have not been contacted once since opening this loan, unless I contact first. Poor customer service.

Heritage Bank should be avoided at all costs!!! Until a couple of months ago, one had to use their Debit/Credit card 10 times as a credit card within a month to get their pathetic 1% interest rate. Without any fanfare, they changed those requirements to using their card for at least $500 a month in purchases. If they told me about this, they did so in a way that would have been easily missed. They are a dishonest bank who treats their customers as if they're neither wanted nor cared for!

I would give almost a perfect review except the ATM is out of money alot. Otherwise I've had them for years and they are great! I'm even moving where there isn't a heritage bank and I'm still keeping my bank here. The customer service is always outstanding!

Best experience I've ever had purchasing a home...and I've purchased at least 6 with several refis. Matt, Julie, Tanya, & Joyce are ones to have on your side and I couldn't recommend them more. Thank you!

When going through the drive thru, no matter if 1 car is in front of me or two it always takes more than 20 minutes to get to the window. I go during my lunch break and it takes away alot of my time.

The primary reason I give Heritage three stars was due to the Heritage representatives all being polite and helpful when they can be. Otherwise the rating would be lower. I was attracted to Heritage for the interest rates. The Interest rate have gone to essentially nothing since I opened my account. The only reason I stay is because I have sent up payment arrangements with all my creditors through Heritage. The upgrades made to the Heritage website look better tan the old format. However the functions I use at the Heritage website have all become tedious and time consuming as a result of the site's "upgrades." I am thankful that I only need to use the site once a month.

I'm at Jean Marthaler at my work she is a very good customer .... She has talked about her job several times and I was like hey I need to find a house she's like oh please let me know I'd be willing to help you... Oh my gosh that is great so we set up a time and became looking for approval for doing the house gave her all the information that I needed to give her and she's always so excited just to get everything done for the customer trying to stay on top of everything that is possible to help somebody out... She stays up late hours working hard on helping the customer I would recommend her to anyone she's just willing to help out anybody that is willing and need of a house thank you so much Jean for once again for helping me I could not have done it without you

Mary Schmidt has been super to work with every time I go into the Pennock Branch location. She recently helped my son and I set up a business account for his lawn care business. I really enjoy working with Mary as she is organized and very friendly.

Sara Sangwin was the best. Helped me every step of the way. Even when I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to, she was there. Amazing work!!
