I literally never review anything but I feel the need to warn others. This bank is a joke. My family started a basic account to simply have the benefits of a low interest rate when it came to buying our car. When we needed them we called and were told they could not begin the loan process over the phone so in turn we had to go through another bank to finance the car. That’s not the worst of it, we had only $100 in the account to start by a year in they had hit us when so many fees that I was down to $7 within the year. At the end of the day I at least was returned $85, so they took $15 for no reason. Please be warned this bank is outdated, unhelpful, has terrible customer service, and is loaded with hidden fees! Avoid this bank at all costs!!

If I could I would give 0 stars. I have had an account for a year with nothing but problems. This is the most useless, incompetent and inconvenient banking experience I have ever had and I wish I never got involved. I cant wait to close this account as soon as my direct deposit transfers. The only reason I have held out this long is because I havent had time to schlep to the main branch in princeton to do it. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DO NOT OPEN A CHECKING ACCOUNT WITH THIS CREDIT UNION. also, this is the first time I've ever left a review about anything on google. That's how bad it is.

To many overdraft fees how can you buy something the merchant take the money send product then Hccu come weeks later and charge you overdraft fees for the same items poor service thank you Glenda for your response I am still a member because my taxes go there but how often do I use the account

Great customer service from Quanda. She was so courteous and kind. Took the time to answer all my questions. Service like this makes worth having an account with a bank I can trust.

I've been a customer for years, and recently I've been having financial problems. I wish they were better at communicating with me for the past 2 years. I have had my credit card maxed out at close to 5000 dollars and they cancelled me without notice, and if I did not pay the bill, since I have automatic deposit from my pay check into their savings account, they have been taking that 200 dollars automatically without any written warning or notice. I really do not like their lack of communication. I used to recommend them to others but I would advise others to please put their money elsewhere.

I've been a member for 30 plus years my first time trying to get a loan I was denied. After speaking with other people and my sister was a member over 25 plus years others have been denied.

To summarize all of the problems with this credit union, I will say this: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff are unbelievably rude, impolite and will turn things around to make it seem as if you're the one being rude. Seriously...RETRAIN YOUR STAFF. HCNJ of Virtua-Mt. Holly merged with HEFCU and after looking at the reviews of this place, I was skeptical, but decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Mind you, I was a loyal member of HCNJ for YEARS and never had ANY problems until the merger. I will be closing my account next week and taking my services elsewhere!

Not a very convenient way of banking. Have to use other ATM machines when used you pay service fees on both ends. PS not recognized by the Experian Boost Program in recording bill payments.

Customer service is professional. The automated phone service is convenient and helpful.
