    Cellar is awful. When I was first approved for my loan, I had by accidentally typed in my bank account number wrong and the payment kept bouncing. I tried very hard to find out what the issue was and it took multiple pay periods (months) to realize that my account number was mis-entered. It was my first loan ever. They have a policy that after 3 pay periods, if your payment keeps bouncing, you have to use a money order or a cashiers check to pay your loan for the next 12 months. I explained this to them and they made an exception for me and I paid my loan on time every single month since. Last month, my bank closed and I was forced to use another bank. Again, my payment bounced because my bank had closed. This was out of my control that my bank closed. I would have never switched banks had my bank not closed in the first place. I wrote a hand written letter to research department explaining to them it was not a problem with my funds. My bank had closed and that's why the payment bounced. I asked that they forgive me so that I can just continue to pay my loan online like I have been doing and they refused. I can understand if I couldn't pay my loan, but that is not the case. How unforgiving of them. All I wanted to do is pay my loan online with my new banking account and they denied my request to be forgiven. I understand they have a policy, but there are certain situations where things happen. They were not understanding. With everything that's been going on in the world today (the pandemic), you would think they would have a heart and forgive me, but they didn't. I am terribly disappointed with this company.

    Want to share my experience: my loan was purchased by Cenlar, for whatever reason, not all escrow amount were transferred to Cenlar, a substantial amount of escrow balance was left in the old account of the old mortgage company. Cenlar increased my monthly payment by about $100, and I can understand why, because the the escrow balance was too low. And soon Cenlar reduced my monthly payment back to original, poor Cenlar I guess it is under enormous pressure from the negative reviews, OK a five star here. I'm working on transferring the remaining escrow balance from old company to Cenlar. Hope everyone gets some good luck. My loan numbers at Cenlar are all right now, wish everyone good luck. BTY, I did my homework. I compared my loan statement before and after transfer, and the transfer letter, found out what went wrong during the transfer, prepared my message for the chat with customer support. And then when I chatted online with customer help, I copy-paste my message, after that everything proceeded smoothly.

    Absolute worst experience with such a dishonest company. Cenlar purchased my loan from another company and increased the principle balance by not giving me credit for close to $4K of payments i had made prior to them owning the loan. I then also tried to open tickets, get their research department involved, speak to supervisors, and have even provided (on multiple occasions) proof of payment and what the actual balance should be and they keep giving me the run around without making any changes. This company is and should reported to the better business bureau.

    You may notice that the average review for this company is close to 1--the lowest possible review. They really are terrible. After my step-father's death, they treated my mother terribly and gave her confusing and conflicting information. When I attempted to follow up with them, each person I spoke with gave me responses that contradicted what their other employees said. Some employees were so inattentive to the conversation that they repeatedly forgot what had just been said. If you or your family can avoid this company, I recommend that you do so. Their customer service is really terrible.

    I got a HELOC from them when I bought my house in September. I cannot gain access to the funds because they say that the signature on my checks do not match their "signature cards" and they are out dated (even though I have never tried to use it since I closed a few months ago). I requested updated signature cards almost 30 days ago and I have not received them. Believe it or not, they will only correspond via us mail or FAX! I cannot get an answer or get this resolved. I cannot believe that they are in business. Steer clear of this company if you want any kind of customer service or the ability to use anything other than FAX or US mail to communicate - unless you like living in the 70's when this was acceptable.

    My loan was bought by CENLAR and it has been absolute nightmare ever since. It is impossible to get speak to anyone or get anything accomplished. They may steal your money and not apply it to your account and then report you to the credit burrough because of their inability to do business. At least that's the experience I've had this far. Not a single late payment, but now they have a $5000 certified bank check they signed for, but can't locate and post to the account. If you have ANY other options as far as picking a lender, would highly advise you do so. Unless you are into bad customer service, a terrible website experience, and countless billing issues with ZERO explanation or ownership, then go right ahead.

    Will give negative if possible. Extremely unprofessional and either the agents have no idea what's to do or they simply lie so you don't bother them further. Before last year's tax payment, I checked with an agent to confirm the tax to be paid. I was told that the record on their side was wrong so I need to pay the extra tax myself. I did, only to see Cenlar paid the accurate tax a few days after I made the tax payment. I've contacted cenlar 5+ times, sent fax as instructed so that they can have the record of the overpaid property tax. Was told a few months later that they will skip this year's first tax payment due to the early payment last year. I checked in early this month. The agent CONFIRMED that there's a note on my loan saying skip this time's tax payment, the same instruction I was given over the past 6 months. THEY PAID TAX YESTERDAY. And when I asked why to another online agent, the agent said they had no record of me paying the tax and I should contact the county myself to get the money back. Great. I called the tax department, and they say they never issue refund, it's banks' responsibility to skip the tax payment to make it's handled properly and the bank knows it. GREAT JOB FOR DOING NOTHING AND PRETEND YOU WOULD RESOLVE THE ISSUE CENLAR. AVOID IF POSSIBLE. Also I didn't choose it myself, but CITI apparently do not keep their own mortgage. Please avoid CITI for your mortgage as well.

    Update: after bellow’s post, I was contacted within a few hrs via email and the docs I had been asking for were emailed to me within 24 hrs so I amended my rating accordingly. Thank you Horrible service! Impossible to get them to send Simple mortgage interest statement for 1 example. Can’t believe people give them service!? Update- I received a prompt reply from Cenlar- I’m hoping they will send me the inquiry/document I’ve been trying to get and I will delete this review

    Would rate 0 if possible. They acquire my mortgage but don’t ensure they have all the data (including principal-only payments made to the prior lender). Their CSRs basically say “too bad” and that the onus is on me to prove this. Sending them proof of the payments from the prior lender’s site not enough. Hard not to say they are just trying to steal the accruing interest that should not be accruing. Joke of an operation.

    We started a mortgage through Citi. Citi sold our mortgage to Cenlaur. I was really concerned after reading the supremely negative reviews and determined that, as long as we never needed anything from them or anything out of the ordinary occurred, we'd be fine.We are paying our loan off early and Cenlaur is trying to charge us an early payoff fee, despite what we originally signed clearly indicating no early payoff fee. Be very, very wary of this company, whose business practices are dishonest and despicable. In order to prove our loan has no early payoff fee, we are being asked to fax (yes, fax, in 2022 - they said they don't do email) the proof in our original, legally signed loan docs that we should have no early payoff penalty. So we need to prove to them, the mortgage company, the details of our loan. If they don't have the original docs, how do they say we have an early payoff fee? If they do have the docs, why am I faxing the original docs to them? I can tell you why - they add these fees hoping people either 1. lose their original docs, in which case you'll have NO recourse, 2, forget what they signed so pay whatever Cenlaur says they owe, or 3. give up jumping thru their ridiculous hoops and pay whatever Cenlaur says they owe.

    Website is always messed up. Called in 7 times to obtain my documents or access to website since it is down… they say we’ll send email with your requested tax information. What do they send in an email?? Instructions on how to log on to website..that is still down…I now have incurred another charge to CPA for another appointment since I cannot get end of year statements. Still cannot get documents

    Worst place to have service your loan. They make it so hard for the customers to resolve issues that are Cenlar irresponsible fault. They are horrible at managing the customers escrow account and don’t give the employees the resources to make it easier on the customers or employee. They don’t let the employees offer an email for most things, they are horrible at resolving website issues, always making mistakes on the customers escrow accounts and even when they know it’s their error they blame the customers.

    How the hell is this place still in business?? They have the worst customer service...like another reviewer, I have been dealing with an escrow overage which I've been trying to get resolved for two months now. Each time I call, I'm told something different (including that by law they had to charge me the difference even though my county refunded them). Do yourself a favor and go with someone else..

    Cenlar sold my mortgage to another company, which would have been fine if they credited my Sept loan payment before they sent all the information to the new company. The new mortgage company sent back my payment to Cenlar due to the fact that at the time of the payment they didn't own our mortgage. Cenlar has been sitting on the money (mortgage payment) for 14 days without even letting us know. I called several times because I get a letter from the new mortgage company saying we owe not only the Oct payment but Sept as well. I'm told by Cenlar that they didn't know what to do with the money. Here is a suggestion, send it either back to the mortgage company (which I'm told you can't do) or send it back to us. This last time I call customer service and spoke with Paul he told he he was putting in a ticket to get my money back. It would take several days. When I asked about having it expedited I was told " We don't do that". His professionalism needs improving. Laughing over the phone and placing me on hold did not help my mood and frustration level. If I could give this company a -3 I would as to how they handled or should I say didn't handle my situation.

    Definitely the worst company I've had to work with during the course of settling my dad's estate. Worse than Comcast, or any financial institution. The company itself is very disorganized, and every request has to be made 3 or 4 times. The actual employees are also incompetent and rude.

    I have proven on a number of occasions that I DO NOT need insurance on my equity line of credit through Cenlar as it is already paid through the first mortgage holder. They say they are going to correct this and send me a refund, but every time i get my payment coupon it still shows my payment along with the insurance escrow payment. This is blatant FRAUD...Stay away from this company!!!

    I have never missed a mortgage in 27 years. A miscommunication with Cenlar on my direct draft payment and now I have a late mortgage payment. I called customer service, zero interest in helping resolve the error. Now, I have a late mortgage payment on my credit report.

    If I could cenlar 0 stars I would. I had Citi mortgage they're amazing and then my account got switched these people. I didnt have an issue with them for 2 years. Now I'm having an issue, all I want is for my account mortgage payment to be adjusted since I paid my escrow. I just want to pay my bill and they giving me an excuse about tickets just fix it so I can pay my bill. You should be happy I pay my bill I'm probably better than all your other customers. I'm never late I'm still currently waiting on this adjustment. If you can avoid coming here please do.

    Beware of Cenlar FSB poor business practices. In August 2020 I refinanced and Cenlar was paid off. Its even noted on their website that recording of mortgage realease are completed within weeks of their payoff. Unfortunately that is absolutely a lie. Let me explain, I was going to close on the sale of my home August 2021, thats 1yr later after they were paid off. Cenlar failed to meet their responsibility of recording with the county that their mortgage was satisfied. Meaning that currently it appears that the home has 2 active mortgage because of it I cant close. In detail reported to Cenlar August 4, 2021 and numerous times after, that this recording of motage satisfaction needed to be sent to the county as soon as possible. The home is vacant and im still making mortgage payments thus continuing to creat a financial and mental hardship!!! I have reported them to BBB, Consumers affairs, Wells Fargo. Cenlars response is "We are working on it" . If the normal process to file the recordings with the county is 3 weeks why is it the its almost 3 months later and Cenlar still hasn't fulfilled their responsibility?? Even their fax number doesnt work. I'm pursuing reimbursement of all mortgage payments August 2021 and forward until Cenlar properly files my recordings of mortgage satisfaction with the county of Union. I dont understand how any mortgage company would hire sure a terrible company to service their loans. So if Cenlar is servicing your mortgage be warned you will potentially have this same nightmare too when selling your home; wasting thousands in unnecessary mortgage payments till Cenlar files the lawfull paperwork allowing you to be able to close on the sale of your home. I will continue to expose Cenlars unlawful, unfair and abusive business practices through every possible social media outlet and help make everyone aware!!! Stay safe everyone.

    Cenlar never paid my property taxes. After several attempts to get it straighten out, they took out money out of my escrow account to pay for the penalty. Based on the number of bad business practices I have seen on here I have started a complaint with the Federal Reserve Consumer and New York State.

    This is absolutely the WORST!!! I have been trying since April to get my flood insurance coverage information updated for my mortgage. Five times I have tried. This includes two faxes that I have had to pay for. Numerous calls to customer service. I just keep getting the run around. They have now purchased flood insurance for me that costs $967, which will increase my mortgage payment. I live in a condo and have been able to use the master policy for 28 years. Since Cenlar took over my mortgage it has been a nightmare. Numerous requests for a supervisor to call me fall on deaf ears. Just today I had a customer service rep named Andie laugh in my face over the phone. Cenlar is a scamming in an effort to place overpriced insurance on people’s mortgages. This rate should be -100 stars.

    Cenlar is horrible! Our credit union home mortgage uses Cenlar as its servicer. They failed to pay our homeowners insurance that was in escrow in our account. We found a YEAR later that we had no insurance coverage. They flat out lied and told the insurance company that they paid it and they did not. We got cancelled and had to pay DOUBLE insurance because of the lack of people doing the job they need to do. Like others I see online I called and called and would ask to speak to a supervisor. Fell on deaf ears. I finally filed a complaint with the BBB and sent to our local news station who investigates companies. I'm mailing a letter to Presidential Complaint who I got the information from someonone I know who is in the mortgage business. All I can say is if we had a hurricane hit and had no insurance even though we had it the escrow account and they didn't pay it....I can't even imagine. Warning to all keep an eye on Cenlar. Community First is just as much to blame. They would not help us at all.

    As someone said if I could give zero stars I would. Cenlar is literally the worst. They have no idea about anything. They call me and I'll get automated messages. Everytime I speak to someone regarding my account they give me different information every time. I ask for a manager They always say they don't have one. What the hell kind of company is this? At the end of the day this company is screwing me over. Recording messages doesn't mean anything because they'll never play or show proof of it.

    Cenlar over charged my December Mortgage 2 more times, turned my checking account into negative. My bank fined my for $70, and cenlar is denying their mistake. Customer service is a joke.

Every time you call in, it is at least a 2.5 hour wait to speak with someone and that includes being transferred to 10 different people, all of whom are RUDE!!!     Horrendous experience. Have not yet received my tax escrow balance after loan pay-off almost 3 months ago. Cenlar has not complied with RESPA, 12 CFR Part 1024 (Regulation X) and should be fined accordingly. Formal complaint has been made to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

    I guess all the 1* rating says it all... They are sending me delinquent notice for a remaining balance of $3.18 but you cant pay it thru their website and if you are lucky to have someone on the phone they don t perform the correction or hang up on you.....pathetic business.

    Citibank moved my loan to Cenlar without my consent. It is a nightmare since then. I send a request to freeze my account and stated that it is urgent. It took them 15 days to send a reply like "Sorry for the inconvenience". It took them another 6 days to send another reply like "There is something missing in your request". Now after a month they still didn't do anything about my request. Every email I receive start with "Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your loan. We apologize that we have been unable to respond to your message within our standard processing time. We regret any inconvenience this delay may have caused." Update: The request is finally processed on Sept 9th. I requested on Aug 11th. It took them 1 month.

    It's a shame that Citibank transferred my mortgage to such an incapable company. Cenlar has caused me nothing but frustration. Customer service agents are unable to answer any questions and if you call to ask for a supervisor their answer will be, " no supervisor is available". Seems like there are only incompetant people running a mortgage company without any knowledge of it. I am terrified as they keep on making mistake on my loan calculation. They have sent me paperwork on one payment and is posting a different amount to pay on website and when I call them, they say someone will get back. It's been 5 days and I still haven't gotten a call from a supervisor. If anyone has any suggestion about dealing with this company, please let me know. Now it seems I have to go to court to resolve this issue.

    When my lender sent them the requested documents identified in numerous phone calls (fax, email and snail mail) - four times, they didn’t get it When I faxed them the information three times, they only got it the third time When I was transferred to the Successor Department, they asked me why I was transferred there - ahem, they transferred my files when I gave the death certificate They sent another document asking for the reason why my case was transferred by their company to the Successor Department The transfer process that should have taken 1-2 months is now going on two years and counting For the last week, their fax machine doesn’t work - lol Outside of these miscues, wasting my time on the phone, sending them the same documents 6 times, their questioning me on why their company transferred me to the Successor Department, having their Research Department asking me for documents that has already spent and the extreme inconvenience - they are an excellent company - lol Why oh Why was my CitiBank loan transferred to this inept company. I have been patient and obviously it has not worked

    Worst run company ever. Paid off my mortgage balance (with the provided payoff balance as provided by cenlar) and the account was reported as closed to Transunion. 2 months later I receive a statement with a 1 cent principal balance and $13 late charge. I called Cenlar and was told all payoff amounts had to be submitted via certified funds. SO, they never closed my account after my original payment and are telling me I need to send a CERTIFIED check or bank wire for 1 cent before they will officially close my account and release their lien. Good luck if your loan is being serviced by this inept organization!!

    They sent the insurance payment to the wrong company.Then they payed the right company. Took it out of my escrow each time. I have been trying to get my money back for 3 months. Their mistake. .My house note went up because my escrow is short. They give me the run around every time I call. Ready to hire a lawyer. This is their mistake and I am paying the price. Put MY money back.I think we should all start a clan action law suit. I plan on getting a lawyer and getting my money plus some.

    I would give them a zero if it was possible. Customer service is a complete joke. I tried for 3 MONTHS to get a situation with an escrow overage straightened out and each time they had a different excuse. They promised to solve my problem and each time they failed to deliver. One representative, Heather McRae, promised a call back in 24 hours with at least an update on what she was doing to solve the problem. After 5 days she still had not called me. Use another company, any other company. They are dysfunctional at best and it's a wonder they are still in business. They never resolved my issue. F- is the grade I give them. STAY AWAY!

    I would give them a zero rating if i could. Worst company ever, incompetent employees and repeatedly have engaged in fraudulent activity with my loan. They've taken multiple monthly payments from my account in a 6 week period without my permission and then claimed I never sent payment in default and have now locked me out of my account and "can't figure out why that's happening". I have lost countless hours dealing with their abuse and fraud and am in the processing of commencing an action against them with the AG's office. No homeowner should have to experience this type of treatment and these people need to be shut down and incarcerated.

    This has to be the most poorly run company I have ever dealt with. They had a self admitted software issue that caused one single autopay payment to fail. Instead of calling me to inform me, they sent me a letter that took over 14 days to arrive. They then sent the very small $50 balance to an outside collections agency that caused my perfect 808 credit score drop 150 points to 658. I called and disputed this with their credit department. I actually got to speak with a very sweet employee who pulled up my account and said she could see the error in their system, apologized profusely that I was treated this way because she saw that it was no fault of my own, admitted it was their fault, and put in a note and a dispute into their system saying she thinks it would SURELY be corrected on their end in their credit dispute department. 11 days later the credit dispute department sends me a letter of refusal to simply correct this credit reporting error on their part. I am having my family attorney file a lawsuit siting these financial damages.

    Extremely difficult company that does not prioritize helping customers with their problems. Supervisors won’t talk to you. They don’t care about you as a customer and don’t listen. The customer service representatives are nice and try their best but management doesn’t care about you at all. My payments didn’t go through because no one realized my account number was typed in wrong. No one caught this for months and I called all the time trying to find a solution. Now I have to pay by check even though the mistake in online payments was not my fault. Would never use cenlar again if I had the choice. I’m truly disgusted.

    My loan was transferred to Cenlar and they have been claiming the wrong amount on my mortage for the last 5 months. I have called 20 times and gone through multiple ticket systems all to be redirected to another ticket system. Its honestly been a nightmare that has caused incredible stress to me and my family.     Incredibly difficult bank to engage with. Customer service is unprofessional and doesn't go above/beyond to understand customers' needs. I've tried calling, emailing the socialmedia@ address in these reviews; no help. PLEASE do not use Cenlar with your mortgage/HELOC/loan. Find a different provider that cares about your business. We overnighted a check to pay off our loan, and Cenlar is saying that they received it, but that the parcel was empty. We have the UPS tracking number saying that Maxwell in the mail room received the package. And rather work with us to find the check, they take an accusatory tone that we overnighted/certified an empty parcel. Just silly. Your time, efforts and money are better spent with providers that care about you as a customer. Cenlar doesn't, as evidenced by this mountain of reviews lambasting their practices. Next step is to wire the payoff (with additional fees of course); so fingers crossed Cenlar does something honest and expected this time?

    This company has the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with hands down. I have called multiple times only to be placed on hold for over 30 minutes each time. Then the transfer your call and you have to explain everything all over again, or they transfer your call and then hang up on you. The representatives all give you different answers to your questions, they are definitely not all on the same page and don't know their jobs. The supervisors promise you a call back and NEVER call you back. This company does not care about their customers. By far the absolute worst customer service !!! I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!

    My loan was sold to cenlar and now that I'm trying to refinance no one seems to be able to find the paperwork I need. I've been trying to get this lien release for going on 5 months now.     This company lost two mortgage payments (Oct & Nov) that I sent via USPS priority mail on 10/15. Tracking shows that they were delivered on 10/19 at 11:36am now Cenlar can't locate the payments causing my mortgage to be 30 days late. I ended up having to send the two payments again. I've sent copies of the receipts from my money orders and a copy of the receipt from the post office showing the tracking numbers and, they still won't send a letter to the credit bureau to acknowledge their fault so that my credit will not be affected. My family and I are currently looking to purchase a new house and this has hurt my chances bad. I asked to speak to a manager and I'm always told no, I've been told that if they don't find my payment then three's nothing that can be done. That's unacceptable. Oh and I was told that it was my fault because I shouldn't have sent the payment to the payment PO box on the statement I should have sent it to the physical address written in small print on the statement. I will be contacting an attorney for some advice regarding this matter.

    They never approve loan modifications, always say you are missing documents and you will have to resend them in multiple times, took 8 months twice just to process my application for loan modifications just to deny me. It's all a scam. Their customer service reps all give you different information. If you are going through a financial hardship, and request a loan modification, you have to call them every time your turn something in to make sure they received it. Even that doesn't matter because they will still say they never received it. This experience by far was the worst experience of my life. I pray that others don't have to go through what I did with this servicing company.

    Hello, I have been emailing you for weeks and you have not responded. I am in the process of selling some land and I am trying to request a partial release for the land that is being sold and I have all the documents prepared and am ready to send but some of your documents have conflicting requirements and I would like clarification.     Incompetent! Improperly trained, rude and lazy. I had been notified that my mortgage payment deduction would be reduced due to my escrow being reduced. I have been communicating with the folks at Cenlar for 2 months just trying to keep my payment the same and apply the additional funds to the principal. However it was explained that due to the vinacular language in my request to remain at a biweekly payment schedule that my request was confusing to them. Because the vinacular that Cenlar uses it is referred to as budget drafting. How ridiculous is that! I was assured today that going forward I would be paying bi-weekly even though that isn't something that Cenlar allows but because my original loan was through Citi Mortgage that they will allow my payment arrangement to proceed as previously done. I honestly do not have faith that this will be addressed properly.

    I will start by saying I do not like giving anyone a 1 star review, but if I could give them a 0 start I would. I am with Cenlar because of my mortgage broker who is not longer with the company. The customer service is the WORST of any mortgage Company I ever have had. You wait endlessly on hold anytime you call. I sent them a wire to pay off the mortgage which my bank confirmed they received and they took 2 days to post to the account which resulted in additional interest and charges. In addition it is 20 days later and they still have not EVEN processed the return of the Escrow account which 20 days refund is per the terms of the loan agreement. In typical fashion a call to Customer Service resulted in a useless response!! WE will process the payment in 20 days. OH well it is 20 days, we will have to look into this. OK can you call me back. NO we aren't set up to call back. Please call us back. WHO has time to sit on hold for a useless answer. SO glad I am done with the company and hopefully they will do the right thing and return the escrow funds due me!! Please USE another lender.

    I'd like to give zero stars but Google won't allow it. I have been trying to pay off mortgage since 1/2021. Now, in August 2021, I have an attorney, NYS Department of Financial Services and the New York State Attorney Generals offices involved in this. They take 38 days to post a wire, 100 days to tell you they have rejected the payment and that they are sending it back to you. They have been averaging 105 days to return your funds to you. Meanwhile they wack you with all kinds of fees, Corporate charges, etc that they can dream up. On the Payoff Statements there are 2 things you should note: 1) Under the total amount due a line states, “If funds are received after the 1st day of the month include an additional amount of $2.70 per Month.” Per 2 different employees they stated there will always be a clerical error in the Payoff Statements as it is NOT per month its PER DAY. 2) additional key words in their Payoff Statements include "clerical error" and "audit". This way they can keep milking you for more money, till enough time has elapsed so they can foreclose on you and take your property. If you look at the time line I put together it shows the level high of incompetence on Cenlar. Forget about accessing your loan online like they say. In the 4 years I've been with them I was only able to access it the first time I signed in. Since then its always showing an error. You'll need to file a W9 form from the IRS in order to be able to get online with them. Cenlar is a SCAM.

    If i could give this company a -10 star i would. I made 3 payments to this company for my 3 months since I’ve been with them and they only applied 2 payments to my account. They basically are stealing money from their customers. But I’m the type to escalate things to legal level if they keep playing with my money. I’ve been trying to resolve this issue for over a month and their incompetence is beyond my understanding. Unprofessional would be a complement compared to the level of service received. Every representative tells you something different . They stole my payment and refuse to add the money to my account. I literally track every penny i owed. My advise if this company is giving you problems get the courts and an attorney involved trying to resolve this with customer service is a waste of time. #crooks

    I just got my mortgage recast effective 1/1/21. Things look good on their website as far as how they show my new terms but now they have disabled online payment option so I can't pay. I tried paying by phone but nobody picks up. I only have one more week to pay otherwise I will be late. My ACH is not utilized and my payment is not posted for this month. I've tried to reach them by phone, chat and secure messaging and I get either the response that wouldn't address my problem or no response at all. They don't seem to have any ideas and can't give me coherent explanation. They have only given me the most generic answers that would apply to a variety of situations (and therefore, won't solve my issue). So incredibly frustrating. I wish I could choose who will have control over my mortgage because I would definitely not choose this company. You would think they'd be careful and attentive because they are handling money but really, they just aren't.

    I hate to post this, but cellar doesn't allow my dad to make online payments only check to be mail, we always mail them and they never received them until 3 weeks or 1 month later, they just don't process fast, but the problem is that when they don't process the check on time we always get calls about foreclosing my parents home, or trying to take his home one way or another. if they could just at least let him make online payments instead of trying to take his home.

    I refinanced my 2 Cenlar mortgages with another lender Fall 2020. I have been trying to get my year-end tax statements from Cenlar for weeks. It is always the same - I try to log on to download the documents but my account has been disabled (I understand that) and then I call, am on hold for 45 minutes, and then the call, unexplicably, disconnects.     I am giving 1 star because I cannot give 0. This is absolutely the worst mortgage company EVER. They make errors on calculation and then have the audacity to reverse payment and once you show amount submitted is correct still want to impose late fee for your REsybmission of payment THEY reversed in error. Cust service reps are nice but hands are tied. Supervisors NEVER call back... Corporate office in Ewing refuse to see customers but will come out for a payment... smh. Take your business ekse where and scan your account carefully for your balances as they make frequent "errors" and never to your benefit.

    So my loan just got transferred from Amerihome to Cenlar. I didn't know the customer service could get worse coming from Amerihome, i was wrong. I cant believe a company like this is still operating. All of the employees i have dealt with are rude. I was left on hold for 1:45 minutes and then hung up on. I called again and got put on hold for 45 minutes. Nobody seems to have an answer to help me through my forbearance plan. Everyone I've talked to is clueless and they keep transferring me from person to person. If i could give zero stars i would.

    This company is horrible. The customer service can't help with anything. All you get is the runaround. There's never a resolution. You're told they are working on your issue and everything is fine, but when you check back, nothing has been done. It's been almost 2 weeks for something they said will take 2-3 days. They don't update the notes in the system, so you have to explain the situation every time you speak with them. My mortgage was sold to them, along with many others from Citi, and they they can't handle the volume of business. Their phone system is breaking (per a representative). They have an inefficient and ineffective business model. They are horrible. I can see why people are threatening a class action suit and filing complaints with the Attorney General. I wish I could give them negative stars.

I followed-up by email over the following weeks to ensure my documents were received. Every time I emailed, I received a response from a person within 24 business hours. In the meantime, I paid the incorrect mortgage total to maintain my credit. In appox one month, I received a correct escrow analysis and a check for the overage on my mortgage. Hence, I have had absolutely no problems with this company. I asked simple, direct questions, received simple, direct answers, and followed the instructions. I admit, I was somewhat anxious when I read all of these negative reviews, but my experience was vastly different.
