My wife and I were looking to take advantage of the historically low rates to refinance two properties. Was recommended to use GSF Mortgage Corporation via word of mouth, and I have got to say they were great. Timely service, willing to process loan and worked quickly (compared to large banks, and local credit unions), and delivered two refi's in just over a one month time frame. Best experience I've ever had with refinancing my home! Andy, my loan officer, was able to get creative and find a deal that worked for me where others turned me down. I recently purchased my 3rd home, and 2nd mortgage with GSF. I returned to GSF for another mortgage with them because of the great customer service I received during my first transaction. Most recently, the team I worked with was beyond exceptional. I could not give a better review for them. We bought a house six months ago and originally we chose a lender other than GSF. What a mistake that was. Three months after closing I was contacted by the same GSF representative I discussed the original finance with and he provided us with a rate much lower than what we were paying and we refinanced the house almost effortlessly. The process was exceptionally smooth and completed in less than 30 days. I cannot say enough about the excellent service we received during the refinancing process. I would recommend anyone considering either a purchase or a refinance use GSF. Not only do they provide you with the best possible rates in the marketplace but they also provide the best possible service.

We had a great experience working with Andy Newman at GSF. He was very professional and responsive throughout the process, always communicating where we were and what was next. Doing everything online was great for our busy schedules and they even came to us for closing. I would certainly recommend Andy to anyone!

Do not use them!!! I'm sure they have great employees unfortunately the loan officer I got wasn't one of them. She lied, and discriminated against my husband (who is a disabled veteran) and I and kept blaming the VA for the so called problems with our loan..she told me I had to close all my revolving credit lines prior to closing so I could be approved for the loan..so I did and my credit score dropped 30 points...come to find out I could have been left off the loan and just put on the deed to the house instead of losing my credit score I have worked sooo hard to build up. She also blamed the VA for a rate lock issue which I found out has nothing to do with the VA... so long story short we pulled our application from the company and switched lenders! 2 weeks and we are already approved! Hmm..strange... I am sure I will get a response to this review with a "I'm sry you had a bad experience with us we will try to do better!" I do not want a response from the company! Make it right instead! Pay my hundreds of dollars in storage fees for my whole house and cars that the delay has cost me! Pay for my extra bills while I am staying in my sister's RV with my 2 kids and husband and dog and cat in the middle of the Michigan winter in her backyard! Pay for my 30 point credit score drop! All because of the incompetence of your company and the lack of communication. I was told that the loan officers cannot get personally involved with customers that we are files on their desks and it's normal to have 40 files at once on each and every loan officers desk. This is sad...I am a human being with a family...with 2 kids..NOT a file. I should matter to you as a company..I should matter to you because u are human too...but I don't. You as a company can do better...you chose as a company to not do better as long as you are making money...sad.

My personal lender, Jennifer G, gave me information throughout the process so I was in the know of things every step of the way. She was my peace of mind! EDIT/UPDATE: The COO called me directly and assures me, again, that the issue will be resolved. She cited weather problems and staffing shortages in TX as the continued delay in resolving my specific issue. While I can understand that the current situation over the past few days could be weather-impacted, the issue has been going on for longer than just recent storms. I am hopeful that this will be resolved, but because I have been told multiple times in the past that the issue was already being resolved, I will have to wait and see how this pans out. I am updating the rating from 1 star to 3 stars because the COO did personally make contact, today. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We refinanced our mortgage in November/December 2020 and the refinanced loan was sold to/purchased by GSF Mortgage. We have had nothing but problems. For starters, there was apparently some sort of a delay in switching over the mortgage from the refinancing agency to GSF, the result of this is that we were to pay our first month of mortgage due to the company who refinanced our loan; which we did - in full and early. Therefore, our January 1 payment was paid on time. When the loan was officially sold/purchased, however, GSF brought our mortgage in showing the January 1 payment was past due; no payment recorded. It is now 2/17 and that issue STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. I have called in multiple times, only to be forwarded directly to their collections department who is unable to provide any answers or support. I have waited on hold multiple times (45 minutes +) for a customer service rep, but nobody ever answers the phone. I've called and left messages with GSF's COO, she returned my call 1 time stating that the issue was resolved. I haven't heard back from her from any of the other voicemails I've left with her, and no, my issue still isn't resolved. I've called the corporate HQ and gotten in contact with a mortgage specialist who has at least been a live person that answered the phone. Unfortunately, he has assured me multiple times that the issue with my payment will be resolved, but yet, here we are and the issue is NOT getting resolved. I will now have to refinance our loan, again, just to get away from the terrible support we've received from this mortgage company. I am not sure who else to contact to get our issue resolved, but I am extremely frustrated by the inability to get our mortgage situation resolved so we can, simply, pay our mortgage!

My husband and I worked with Andy at GSF Mortgage and we were completely satisfied with the process of obtaining our home mortgage. We couldn't have had a better experience working with GSF. Andy was fantastic. He answered all of our questions in a timely manner, walked us through each step along the way, offered us advice, and support. I was concerned that getting a mortgage was going to be difficult for us after some financial issues we experienced, but Andy assured us that it was going to all work. We now are in our new home, and we owe it to GSF for helping us. Our Realtor even made a comment about how fantastic it was working with GSF. He stated, "usually if I need an answer in regards to something it will take a lender a few days to get back to me, but Andy returned my calls within a few minutes." Our Realtor told Andy at our closing how much he enjoyed working with GSF. I would recommend GSF to anyone who is currently looking to purchase a home.

Sam Fisher is the best! He will ensure that all of your loan needs are taking care of (from the start of the application, and even after closing). I have purchased multiple homes, but none of my previous mortgage companies can compare to the service and dedication that Sam brings to the loan process. You will not be disappointed!

I have bought homes in the past and when we decided to buy again, I was really dreading it. Brad was just Awesome! He was friendly, caring, honest, and always pleasant to speak with. I felt that Brad truly cared that I have a great loan experience and that I saved as much money as possible and got the best mortgage deal available to me. We had good experience dealing with Brad had been asked to deal with him and GSF after dealing with another company, and having problems after problems,I'm the one with an attitude ready to tell everyone where to go and wait and if it hadn't been for my wife wanting that property I would have waited till another year. Had my questions answered and explained to me since a lot of changes had occurred since last dealing with a mortgage company, and my phone calls returned pretty good so I wasn't fussing. If I ever decide to buy another place would deal with Brad again but I would rather be beat with a stick than move again, unless it's a vacation place.
