Great Western Bank S 84th St, Omaha

Possibly the roughest buyout and transition, not to mention they aren’t open Saturday at all anywhere. I will be switching banks Monday.

Opened a checking account with them 4 months ago. Wrong type of account was opened. Filled out the paperwork for VIP Checking (pays interest.) They signed me up for 'Free Checking.' (pays no interest). Some of their GW Bank owned ATMs do not take deposits. Not too impressed with the service so far. ( UPDATE: I closed this checking account and am using another bank now.)

I had an ira set up with these guys. The returns were terrible so i opted to get my money out and into a better option. I called talking to the manager letting him know i would be doing this and asked the cd not be reinvested and he said ok. Fast forward 2 weeks when my paperwork goes through a day after my removal date. The bank calls me to tell me i will be charged a percentage of my ira to take it oit because it wasnt requested in time. I daid i had called the manager and had ot put on hold. The guy tells me to hang on while he checks with his manager. Comes back to let me know his manager doesn't remember that so they have to charge me the fee. What a joke this place is. The fees were twice what i made while my money was at their bank for 5 years.

I have banked with Greatwrstern for many years....I love this bank switched to them from Wells Fargo who was stealing my money in over draft fees when I had money to cover all my debt

Apparently you cannot cash a payroll check at this location. Very upset with the lack of competency with the employees at this location. My advice is to either retrain your mentally challenged employees or hire someone with half a brain, good day.

I've banked with GWB for nearly a decade and utilized this branch and other branches throughout Omaha. I've had nothing but good experiences in all my time with this bank. I've made several out of state trips and had no issues utilizing my card with or without prior notification I was going out of State. Additionally, their loss prevention team has prevented several online hackers from taking my money due to conspicuous transactions. I love this bank!

Great Western has been absolutely horrible! I have had more than one negative experiences and it is ridiculous. You should be able to trust your bank and they have done nothing to instill that trust for me. Within 2 weeks of opening my bank account with them I deposited my paycheck and they put my ENTIRE paycheck in someone else account! I caught it right away, because I noticed the account number was wrong on my receipt! I didn't realize that was something I would have to worry about! The other major fiasco for me is there is another person with my same name and they can't seem to get our accounts right. I went to get a new debit card and they put it under this other persons account but it was still sent to my address, but it obviously wasn't working when I tried to activate it, because it was under there social. I went in, in person to get it sorted out they explained to me that is what happened and they were going to reissue me a debit card under my account. I figured that would be the last of it but over a month later I still haven't received my debit card. I called last Saturday to ask what the issue was and they looked into it and said that it had been issued but returned. So they reissued it and said I would have it in 3 business days and 7 days later I still do not have it! I am going in tomorrow and this will be the 4th time I have had to ask them to get me a debit card!!! It isn't just this location it is all of them. They are just careless I have had smaller issues at other locations, like them giving me someone elses receipts in the drive through and them freezing my account, because they needed my drivers license info, but they should have had it because you have to give them your drivers license to open the account? Would never ever recommend this branch! I will be closing my account real soon! Absolutely awful! It's completely unacceptable!

Awful. Never had a good experience. Waited 45 for a personal banker because only one there helping someone else. They did have 5 drive thru attendants though... you'd figure they schedule more than one banker but no. This bank has been a pain in the ass for 10 years now. Stay away from this pos bank!!!

Can never get a call back or speak to an actual person. Opened account last weekend closing today. Also activated online banking with wrong personal information

Been with GWB for about 5yrs now. Never had a problem at this, or any other branch in the metro area.
