Great Western Bank 8th St, Altoona

I have been with GWB for 22 years. Since the change over it has been nothing but nightmares'. One of my direct payments accosts didn't get paid and resulted in late fee. Which hadn't been a problem for three years. No more ebanking, closed on Weekends, opens a 9:00 am, no more early window. I have a personal and business account with GWB and have open new ones with Wells Fargo. I will miss the old GWB staff, more so, Mike, Business accounts, great person to work with. Cannot get away from this First Interstate Bank fast enough.

We got to the bank close to closing time with my work schedule and we were greeted Kindly. We then met with a personal banker, Ashley Berk who helped open an account for my son and I. I have never had such a great experience at a bank. She was so friendly and down to earth. She explained everything to us throughly. I couldn’t be more happy with my choice to go to Great Western Bank. Looking forward to building a relationship with them.

I looked up this bank location because its near my work and I couldn't get to my regular branch before they closed. I was a bit nervous after reading the only other review posted. I was SO pleasantly surprised! I got there late than planned after being stuck in traffic - 4:55 pm and went in to withdraw a large sum of cash completely expecting to get attitude since it was 5 minutes until closing. The 2 people I met were cheery and personable! They had to check my ID since I'd never been there and was asking for almost $6,000 which added time, but they did it quickly and happily and chatted with me as they worked on my transaction. All said and done I was there about 7 minutes. They never made me feel like I was bothering them as they were trying to close, instead we talked about the fun purchase I was headed to go make and even got a "fist bump" :-) I would go there again in a heartbeat!

This is the worst bank in Altoona. People that work here are not very friendly and the people working the drive thru windows are completely lost and that is on a good day.

Its been great everytime. My favorite is Min. Hes super nice and funny

I've had GWB since I was a teenager and I've never had a bad experience at any branch. Here at the Altoona location, Ashley helped my wife and I set up our bank account infrastructure a few years ago and was super patient and helpful. Last week Mom and I set up Power of Attorney and Ashley notarized our documents and walked us through (patiently) the different terms and conditions regarding what happens to a bank account when someone passes. I guess I'm just saying -- having someone listen to questions and explain things to Mom and I was invaluable. So I'm writing a super happy review.

locked out of my account been on hold for over 30 minutes whatever you do do not bank here worst customer service ever

The staff at this bank are always cheery and ready to help me! If you go there often they know your name, and it feels like a breath of fresh air compared to corporate megabanks

This is THE SLOWEST BANK in the land. I recommend it if you have time to kill. Overall the staff is nice though.
