Actually wouldn't even give them 1 Star. Agree with some of other previous reviews, poor poor customer service, on hold for long durations, kept throwing my car dealer under the bus blaming the issue on them. There was a typo error on my new vehicle VIN number so everytime GM tried to release lien off my car after I paid off the loan, it would not take off lien because GM was typing in wrong VIN. Told me it was dealer's fault although dealer has proof they submitted correct paperwork and indeed submitted correct VIN to DMV.Finally got my dealer involved and with her persistence and contact on my part to the Better Business Bureau the problem finally was corrected. Took about 5 weeks of unnecessary frustration and long phone calls. I'd pay higher interest rates and get a loan elsewhere before giving this place my business again.

This company will not give me any information about my own vehicle. If anyone has any information on how to locate a vehicle with just the vin number I would love to know how it is done. I'm not sure why they left the number I call where they tell me they cannot help. I would like to not have my name attached to a car I share with someone who has physically assaulted me in the past.

I called to clarify my account. My online account stated I owed 6 months left. But my principal did match up. I had spent the last 6 months over paying on my account. I spent 2 hours on the phone. They said they would adjust my principal to reflect the over payments. I logged on only to find not only did they not adjust the principal they set me to 11 payments left..... where did the the 5 payments come from. Now I am going to have to seek legal counsel cause they are trying charge me an extra almost $2500. I found it funny the agent told me I had paid 68 payments of the 72 I owed. (He counted the over payments as a month each.) Which equated 5.2 months. I was just trying verify that if I had made the last 6 months worth of payments over the next 2 months that i would be done....Stay away stay away.

Unorganized and willing to charge you money at every turn. After owning 4 GM vehicles, my 4th vehicle sat in a garage for nearly a year while I was in Europe. When I turned the car in the dealer told me no payments were due. Now I get a bill for over $1,000 saying $667 is due to extra wear and tear for a car I barely used. All this during a pandemic where they will sell the car for a lot more than it's worth. Scammers. Will never lease or buy another GM product.

    Response from the owner

Hi Karen, we're sorry that this experience wasn't what you expected. Your lease agreement is the best source of information about fees and expectations at the end of your term, and sometimes dealers misstate some of the details. I will NEVER use GM again. After leasing for 3 years and paying on time and in full every single time and returning the vehicle in nearly new condition, no excess wear and tear and under my miles I returned my vehicle and was told that I was all set. My account read 0.00 and I was told everything was squared away. Only to find out two months later that they RUINED my credit because I owed a late payment? I did not received bill, a phone call, an email, and my online account read $0.00. After calling corporate I found out I owe nearly $600 dollars for literally nothing. I was put on a payment plan that I did not agree to and now if I don't magically come up with the money it will continue to hit my credit every month. I have reached out and left multiple messages for the supervisor and though I was promised a solution and a call back-nothing. I have never had such a HORRIBLE customer service experience. I simply want to make 5 payments instead of 3 as I DID agreed to over the phone for this unexplained fee and they will not work with me. Also, in order to make these payments, if I want to pay over the phone, its an additional $10.00 fee each time and I can't pay it online because my account has been deactivated. DON'T LEASE GM unless you want your credit ruined or you have an extra $600 dollars to waste towards a vehicle you no longer have. **UPDATE** After several phone calls and perseverance a senior representative was able to help me with my issue. I greatly appreciate their efforts in resolution.

I leased a vehicle at a GM dealership with financing by GM Financial. When I signed the lease the dealership did not explain to me about the deposition fee. When I returned the vehicle they billed me $422 for the deposition. I reached out many times, asked if they could waive it and they refused many times. They only said they would if I bought or leased a new vehicle, which I did. I called in several occasions and also was called by them. We discussed this issue perhaps on 10 or 15 different calls. All this occurred during the pandemic in the stay at home period. I could not go to the dealership to get a new car because basically the entire country was locked down. I kept on touch with GM Financial to make sure my deposition fee would be waived when I got the new car. I talked with several people. When I bought the new vehicle I reached out for them to erase that fee and they said I bought the car 15 after the deadline and the fee would not be waived as they said it would. I explained that I called a million times, I tried to reason with them that this was in the midst of the Covid 19 and they would not listen. GM Financial does not treat customers with respect and they show zero common sense. You ask something and they say they have to put you on hold. They keep you on hold for 15 min and don't have the courtesy to touch base for a second saying that they will take long. The people that answer the calls, and make calls to customers are poorly trained. They are not courteous or polite. They are not rude, but they do not show a lot of respect.

Terrible process to do a state title relocation. All I needed to register my vehicle in Missouri was a simple signed document that I emailed and faxed to the email provided by the experience team. I have them explicit instructions to fax it back to the number on the document. This was a 10-12 turnaround, but they mailed it to me instead. I started working this on 14 Jul 21 and it is now 3 Aug 21 and I still do not have this signed document. I was told they could not email me a copy. Terrible process, just terrible.

GM Financial is anything but professional. We paid off our lease well over a month ago. We have called weekly since regarding the title of our vehicle. Each time we were told different things by each customer service representative we spoke to. We sent the paperwork they needed by fax and email 3 separate times, only to find out we were provided with the wrong email from the start. While speaking to a manager I got told to act like an adult and continued to get laughed at. Needless to say, this did not sit well with me. We were told the title would get expedited. This is when the daily phone calls began. We were told by another representative that we could get the title sent to us via fed ex at our cost, which is absolutely ridiculous. Then, when we finally agreed to pay the cost for fed ex and bite the bullet we were told it can still take up to 15 days to receive. Bottom line, their employees and managers need some serious training. GM is now holding up a new car sale for me because someone in their office messed up from the start. Very unprofessional, I wouldn’t recommend GM Financial to my worst enemy.

RUN!!! GM Financial is a nightmare to deal with. We had a lease that we bought out. We received the payoff information and transferred the funds the same day. We filled out the paper work and submitted that via fax. 3 weeks later we call to get the status of the title. They say they never received the paperwork and we owe additional funds. They finally say there was an error on the account but it's fixed. We don't owe anything but will need to re-submit the paperwork. paperwork is resubmitted. 3 weeks later I call again about the status of the title. I once again here that there is an balance due and no paperwork has been received. 40 minutes later I am still waiting for an answer. You think when you pay over 85k for a car you will receive decent customer service. Not here! I will never buy another GM car in my life. Switched to Honda. Customer service is A++. They truly care about their customers and take good care of them!

So after 3 years of good payment history the last payment was lost even though my bank showed proof payment was issues but looks like its lost during processing with GM and we opened investigation for a month and ended up they couldn't find it so I did paid them again to close the deal however they reported missing payment to credit burau and I wasn't informed they will do that, thought we both were working together to locate missing payment. not willing to buy, lease again from GM. dispute was submitted but got rejected. terrible customer service and total no care about their customers.

Terrible and borderline scam artists. End of lease was in October and they overcharged me on my lease disposition fee and wear and tear multiple times. They lied and told me they "could not update the amount due" that was shown on my account online, so I requested the amount due in writing and they said they would send a letter. I never received it. They then conveniently updated the amount due on my online account and reported it as delinquent to the credit bureau. I have filed a BBB complaint and am in the process of filing a complaint with the Texas Attorney General. They try to overcharge you and scam you out of more money than you owe.

I turned my car in 9 months ago. I'm still dealing with them. Even after I was told I was good. They're demanding 400 bucks from me now. They have no honor system what so ever, even Walmart has a better honor system. I have been lied to repeatedly, GM made an error on their end. Two errors now, and refuse to own up to it and are just demanding the money. I've spoken to 4 different people now who have told me that they will follow up with me. No one ever did. I was told they would call me back in a couple hours. They didn't. I'm being told one thing by one person, and the completely opposite thing from another person. No one has been straight with me. DO NOT lease a car through them. Save yourself a headache. This is going on 2 months now with over an hour of being placed on hold.

I would give a ZERO if I could... I had my lease on auto-pay and it was somehow turned off and they reported to the credit bureaus without notifying me after two years of paying on time. My credit score was impacted significantly. I called and they said that they had to report it, it's against the law not to even though it was not my fault. I let that one slide. Turned my auto-pay back on. Fast forward to end of lease. I turned in my car and got a letter saying they received it, will do a comprehensive review and mail me a bill. Again, my account is on auto-pay with paperless statements but OK, I'll wait for a bill to come in the mail. I get a notification from Experian that they reported a 30 day late payment on my account. Mind you, it was already closed and at a zero balance. No calls, no email, no bill in the mail, no nothing. Instead, GM Financial opted to report a late payment AGAIN! My credit score went down again because this lender is too incompetent to send a bill or even contact me - with multiple channels as an option. I called and asked for them to send the bill via email and they said they can only mail it. It's 2020 last time I checked and I am a paperless statement customer. RIDICULOUS! I still haven't received the bill but I know the balance is roughly $1,000 more than it should be. Reading other reviews, I am sure there are a bunch of fees that I should not have to pay in the first place. Needless to say, I will never lease with them again. I loved my car but, PLEASE seek other financing options if you get a GM vehicle for the reasons below. - Terrible customer Service - Unreliable Technology - Questionable business practices

I paid off my car and have been getting the run around for my title for over 3 months. I'm looking into what legal actions I can take against them, this is ridiculous. I don't know what car I'm buying next but it sure won't be a GM car.
