    Today a banker yelled at me from across the room to put my mask on. So I complied but one desk away was a man with his mask on his chin. He was an employee. This is typical of the kind of treatment Global Credit Union gives its customers who’ve held accounts for over 10 years. I’ve been questioned by a teller if my pay check was legitimate because “well most people just get direct deposit.” I get the feeling they no longer want my business.

    So I was just informed that Global CU charges an "INACTIVITY FEE". What does that mean you ask? Apparently if you do not use your debit card at least once a month they feel that they need to charge you $10...PER MONTH! If you have ever tried to talk to someone from Global you could only imagine my frustration trying to get an explanation. All that I was told was that it was in the schedule of fees pamphlet when you open an account. Be careful when depositing you hard earned money! UPDATE; Elizabeth contacted us and credited our money back, thank you.

    I've been banking with Global for 7 years at the Shadle Branch. I was married 3/28/2015 and my last name changed, but remained hyphenated. I haven't gotten my Driver's License updated as my new last name after the hyphen is the only thing that changed and I have my. Social security card with the correct name on it which is LEGAL ID. I just double checked with my attorney. I have been doing the same transaction, a shared branching transaction, for the last year, without any trouble. Today I walked in and all the tellers are all new and in training and someone is training them. I am told since my last name on my DL doesn't match I can't do my transaction! They go as far as to call my credit union, which I confirmed approved the transaction on their end, and said the decision rested with Global. The Trainer came out and said my CU denied the transaction. I am now going to close my Global account after I speak with Jana the branch manager. The Trainer also told me that the rules changed in the last 30 days that is why they couldn't help me last month and NOT today. That was also a lie. I'm very upset with the service I received and for being outright lied to. I will be letting everyone I know about the experience I had today.

    I'm doing 2 stars because the first time I went was awesome. I went in with a document that I needed notarized just giving my mom permission to ship my car because she isn't on the registration, I'm not a member and I paid $5 and they did it right there for me. Then I was told my fiance needs the same paper because we are both on the car registration and when I called back to ask if I could come in and get the paper done the lady was very rude and kept insisting they aren't allowed to do those papers and I must have lucked out with a new person doing the notorization but the lady who did mine is the same lady who has been doing it with that company. The lady on the phone was rude saying "well I've been in this industry 12 years and we don't do notorizations unless it's a legal document" well obviously you guys can do it because I just walked in and had it done a week ago. NOT impressed with the customer service.

    This military family has been a Credit Union member since 1982. Global is a primary reason. Professional and member orientated. Since retirement Global has kept my new business running with financial assurance and support. They care and it shows.

    Overpaid a car loan and global puts the 200 bucks in savings for u and then takes 10 bucks a month from you for inactivity fees. They don’t send you a check for overpayment. Nor do they mention this to you. They deserve zero stars but that is not an option.

    We are sorry to hear about your experience and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. As a credit union, we deposit loan proceeds to our member’s account. This is because our members can keep their account for life, regardless of how they joined. We are regulated to monitor inactivity. We send two letters alerting members who are about to become inactive and how to avoid the fee (any contact with us maintains activity). If you didn’t receive the letters, our fear is you wouldn’t have received the check. We review our processes continuously to make sure they are still effective and in the best interest of our membership. Your experience will help us continue to improve our service to our members.

    Not a lot of reviews for this Credit Union so I figured I would add one. Staff has always been friendly and I have never had an issue. The parking lot is terrible but that’s not the Credit Unions fault ha. I have had an account here since I was a kid and surprisingly have never felt the need to switch.

    I started using Global in 2017. The interest rates are pretty good and the people that work in this branch are typically nice IN PERSON, well sometimes... but WOW does their phone customer service agents have the biggest attitude for no reason at all! I called to make sure that my recent payment went to the correct place and said I was "Que 1" for talking to an agent, but had to listen to THE WORST waiting music ever lol for 10 minutes? Why am I que one and still waiting 10 mins? Then I finally get on the phone with a gal who was just super rude right off the bat. She was asking me security questions and I simply told her I did not understand the question and she goes "that's your second wrong answer" I could tell she was just wanting to deny me service... LOL but I had not even answered?! I had just simply asked her to restate the question...then when I did answer the questions she asks the same ones over and over as if she just was not paying attention at all? She was acting as if I was the one working for her and wasting her time. I used to work in Customer Service so I understand how a customer should and should not be treated and this girl just did not care at all. I picked this branch to help me and she was utterly unhelpful and snobby. I have no time for that BS. As soon as I am done w this card we will for sure be taking business elsewhere...and from the other reviews I can tell that others have had the same exact issue as me. It is super unfortunate because I love my neighborhood so much and this location was so convenient...but the level of compassion and professionalism is just not here.

    I love GCU Shadle branch has always been on top of everything as they grow more, the more places and technology they get that make banking easy. Also check out the platinum debit card worth every penny!

    I have been with GCU for 27 years. The Shadle branch for 22 years. Best bank I've ever had. Don't want to bank with anyone else.
