If I could give a negative rating I would. They don't even deserve one star. The worst experience EVER took them almost 3 weeks+ to close a simple auto loan. Why did I need 4 officers to get one loan closed out???? Due to me not being able to get the proper assistance needed, I lost several opportunities to get the car I wanted at a good price had to settle. The officer that approved my loan went on vacation after doing so without notifying someone to take over my loan. What kind of business does such a thing? I had no idea I had been approved. It is simply unprofessional. I felt in the dark during the entire process. Granted there were a few helpful people along the way it still was a difficult process. Go somewhere else for your loan, also banking with them is annoying. I can't wait to close my account out and go to Navy Federal or literally anywhere else. So many restrictions and fees, they should rename themselves Wells Fargo 2.0. You might as well just go to real bank at least you can get actual customer service and talk to someone with out hitting their voicemail 3432 times.

    Response from the owner

I have been with this credit union for years, and I have to say, the customer service is horrible. I called to dispute a transaction, was hung up on, given the wrong phone number by a supervisor for the dispute department, and then after locating a supervisor was told I had to call yet another department. When he finally transferred the call, he failed to disconnect from the call, and the background music continued to play making it impossible to continue the call. Of course, the rep said she would call me back and never did.

    Response from the owner

Rita - If there is anything we can do to make this right by you, please reach out to us at [email protected]. While it seems you had a rough experience initially, we're confident we can make it right by you. Thanks!

Georgia's Own used to be Telco. When it was Telco the service was always outstanding. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. There are still a few employees who are exceptional but not many. I have been trying for over a week to have a problem addressed. A supervisor was supposed to call me, that was 2 days ago. Still no call.

    Response from the owner

Vicki - We hate to hear this from longtime members such as yourself and will work to provide better service moving forward. If there is anything we can to do to address your situation further, please email us at [email protected]. Thanks!

Terrible customer service. I've been with this bank since before I knew what a bank was and growing up, I enjoyed my experience, but as I've gotten older this bank has been in a serious downward spiral. I recently switched to PNC bank and even when I came IN the building to close my accounts, they never once asked me why I wanted to close all three of my accounts. They simply looked and sounded annoyed while they quickly handed me my money and brushed me away. NOT WORTH IT.

One star is too much. The worst customer service in town. They are so called "community bank", they are the destroyers of the community. When I asked to talk to someone about the secured card that they denied after ruining my credit, they said that "those who decide DO NOT talk to customers". RUN FROM HERE, they will make sure to keep black people down with their knee on your neck.....

I have been with them for 10 years. during the pandemic they messed up our auto loan and our mortgage, I received 2 lates on my credit because of their error, no one would admit their mistake, they reimbursed me late fees but they will not remove the lates from my credit, I have contacted my attorney.

    Response from the owner

Apologies for any poor service you received. If you are still experiencing an issue, please reach out with your contact info at [email protected].

I've been with them for quite some time and currently having them make a late payment correction on my credit report when I have an image of the check they deposited "before" my 27th due date. Also, they have been charging me various late fees; either $25 or $37 at times which isn't normal. They state late fees are $25 so why am I being charged $37? I've filed numerous disputes and complaints; next stop is the BBB and then getting myself a Lawyer since I know they are violating parts of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

    Response from the owner

Danielle - We'd be happy to have someone look into your situation further if you'll email us your contact info at [email protected].

I don't mind verifying my account information, it is my money so I wouldn't want somebody to get through and get information or make changes. The problem I have is that if you can get through to somebody on the phone without being hung up on, if they transfer you, you will get hung up on. Georgia's own has messed up my account at least 3 times in the last 5 years, causing me extra work to use my account. I've been credited for the mistakes but it took a lot of work, including going to a branch ect. They've messed up my address a couple of times, including again this year. We moved / updated the address online, our pin/zip code reflected the change for a couple of months, the recent credit card account changes caused another problem. I cannot access my credit account online, I cannot use my account because I have no card, they cancelled my account essentially before I received a card, the address was magically wrong in their system again I still can't use the account 10 days later, I haven't received a call back from my support email tickets. It's obnoxious. Will be looking for a new bank. Update: most of the time there aren't issues but for whatever reason their front end and back end applications do not work together properly. Socially in my case with address changes even when I've given as much information as possible. My issue was resolved but I had to go through social media to get any sort of response.

The customer service at GOCU seems to be degrading rapidly. They ask 15 questions just to verify the account and then fail to answer very simple questions. I literally just got off the phone with someone from the call center who I had to raise my voice to for her to answer a very simple question. By the way, before she was able to attend to me, she kept me on hold for literally like 5 minutes and then came back and said she had more verification questions. Yesterday, I called about the same account and the person who answered asked me all these questions and then couldn't respond. When I asked pointed questions and started detailing who I had spoken to before immediately wanted to refer me to someone in another department. I was like, so if I hadn't given you basic information you should have access to in your notes, what would you have done? She kept mumbling about I'm sorry I don't really have much access. Beyond frustrating. Online banking information is extremely thin at best, and for those of us who are tech-savvy, the limitations of the online banking system means that we have to call to get certain account details. I've wasted hours on simple questions. Literally, one day I tracked how long I was on the phone, between holds and transfers, and it was 4 hours. Georgia's Own, please reconsider your entire strategy. I don't see myself keeping my account beyond a year. You used to be very good.

I like this credit union, and the employees here are always pleasant, hands down, they make me feel like family!!🥰 However, the ATM is ALWAYS DOWN or inoperative as in certain functions. I live 5mins from this branch. Today, I really needed to deposit money for emergency purposes, and the atm DID NOT ACCEPT CASH DEPOSITS TODAY, so I had to drive to Marietta’s ATM which is 30-40mins away!😳😱 BIG INCONVENIENCE—-PUUUULEAAAAAAAZZEE (please) GET IT TOGETHER!!🤯😡
