Genisys Credit Union N Main St, Royal Oak

I have been with this credit union my whole life, or at least since opening my first savings account when I nine years old. In my 15 years with Genisys, I have never had an experience here that was any less than 100% positive and helpful. This branch (Royal Oak) as well as their branch in Troy have been incredible to me over the years, from a beginner savings account to my first credit card to student loans…. The staff are kind, patient, and very knowledgeable in regard to any and all questions asked. Without a doubt, I would not be nearly as confident and competent with personal finances as I am today. Thanks guys!!!!! ALSO, James at the RO location is absolutely FAB (staff member and person in general) and he deserves a raise ASAP. :)

I have always banked with large corporate banks until I needed several accounts opened to run my business how I wanted, which at that point I was told I would be charged a crazy amount for each account. So since my wife and father-n-law have banked with Genisys since before it was Genisys I thought it would be a good idea to try them out. Bree was very helpful when opening my accounts, also every time I walk in I am greeted or if she's with a client will wave. At any point that I need help with something she is very responsive. Something about being more then just an account number here at Genisys. I'm usually helped by James when I come in, and he is, well... awesome. Always super helpful, friendly, kind and happy! I love this bank, everyone is so nice and more personal then like I said an account.

The Royal Oak Branch was a welcoming and pleasant experience. My questions where all answered and everything was explained in detail. Sometimes I can be challenging because I ask a lot of questions. Suzanne had definitely packed her patience. I asked to speak to her manager. There is enough negative complaints however I felt the need to express my positive compliment and or experience. Totally would recommend Genisys Royal Oak.

Susanne has gone above and beyond every time. Always best rates, quick turn-around time and great service. I personally don't even shop around anymore, anything financed goes through Genisys and Susanne. - Happy customer on 3rd motorcycle loan

The woman "helping" me open a business account was extremely rude and uninformative/uneducated. Also, no one knew the wifi or just didn't want to tell me they don't allow members to access the wifi. Honestly, I hope it was a lie because multiple people not being able to access their employers wifi seems really bizarre to me? Also, the closest branch for me is 30-40 minutes away. Been a member for most of my adult life and have nothing but very positive things to say but that lady was so incredibly rude that I am writing a google review, I never do this. I drove out there for nothing, no account was opened but my faith/trust in the organization is now seriously in question. I could have dealt with rude if she knew what she was talking about and was helpful in anyway. People have bad days, I get it, but the absolute lack of knowledge really disheartening. I am super disappointed.

I love this credit union. I've been with them almost 30 years. I don't have one complaint. They are always there to assist when needed. Customer service is ALWAYS awesome.

Karen(?) should not be answering phones or working in customer service. Melancholy, condescending, and unhelpful. I called needing my account number since it is nowhere to be found on their app or online banking system. Knowing this, she point blank had me recite my full social security number to locate my account (using no other details) and then tells me that she can't give me my account number over the phone? So you're going to skip asking my name, DOB, etc., and go straight for the most sensitive piece of personal information I possess in order to deny me a less sensitive piece of my own information that I have a right to know? Apparently I have go in person to obtain it. In the midst of a pandemic this seems to be a misplaced policy. Whether it's actual policy or not, Karen was an utter buzzkill to deal with. It shouldn't be this difficult to pay a car payment that is financed through them. Gave two stars because the other employee I talked to on the phone minutes earlier to obtain the routing number was much more friendly and helpful.
