GE Credit Union is really fantastic to work with. I’m always impressed with their customer services, their range of offerings, their educational programming, and general friendliness. I believe they have maintained a great balance of courtesy and connection in a world where everything is going digital and less personal. Our entire family uses a whole host of services. A couple years ago to a couple decades ago, I would have given the CU five stars. Easily. I kept them as a bank while living out of town/out of state, and did so without issue. I'm considering moving accounts after combination of minor and major issues the past couple weeks. I cannot recommend them as a bank based on recent experiences - misinformation, faulty online services, 23 minute hold time to the MAIN number, etc.

I have not had online access to my credit card account for 3 months so I can make a payment. Now they have charged me a late fee and I have to call every time or go into a location just to make a payment that i should be able to do online in seconds. The first time I had to go into the location they directed me to an itm they couldn't even do the transaction at so here I am waiting for the itm then waiting for a teller behind 3 people that came in while I was waiting for an itm that couldn't help!

They lie and will harm your credit even though your auto insurance pays off a car loan and gap coverage. Insurance took over power of attorney on the vehicle and they still try to tack on extra costs that are not owed.

I waited 51 minutes and never got a hold of a customer service representive. On the 1800 number.Called local Cincinnati number...waiting again probably another hour. Why would you have customers wait hours for a question...I'm a new customer.I'm sorry but I don't like spending hours waiting to talk to someone.

Loan rates are typically good and the tellers at most locations are mostly friendly. But I would not recommend for day to day banking, most policies are rather antiquated (ie. overdraft, atm fees). As for auto loans, I moved from Ohio to Kentucky and in order to register my car, I needed my title - receiving this was a nightmare. Online support is typically less than helpful.

Bought a used car... . Cannot get anyone to answer the phone. On hold at least 20-23 minutes and had to hang up since I was at work. The online help and the team at loan operations is about as helpful as a bag of rock.

We’ve had GE for a long time now for two different vehicle loans. We’ve had so many issues trying to even get through to anyone now. Anytime we try to call the workers are rude and very unhelpful plus being on hold for 30+ minutes. I will never use them again for anything.

I have been a customer for many years. Was very happy with this credit union, great service, great offers, % rates were fantastic. These past 2-3 years customer service has gone down. Like no one really cares anymore. I have asked over and over again about an auto deduction out of my checking and no one could answer my question. Finally , I happened to connect with this one nice lady who took the time to actually search and gave me my answer. I have requested to receive transaction checking books, (I like tracking my balance ) to this day I have not received it! This has been 5 months ago.

The website is horrible, purposely makes it so difficult for you to make a payment that you'll end up missing payments. Then they'll send you checks for payments that were supposed to be applied making it more confusing. Worse interface on the planet. The website is horrible I can only imagine walking into there.

Very efficient. Was able to look up my account. I got money out and I was out the door. My husband and I bank at GE and we both think the make our money life just a little better. My father worked General Electric, he worked there for as long as I can remember. A few years away and I come back and the people are just as nice if not nicer. Glad I came back. This credit union forces collateral protection on their vehicles but back dates it. I have insurance and have always had insurance but because my policy didn't meet all of their criteria, they forced a collateral protection policy to cover the first two month that I owned the car. The insurance policy is to protect the CU if the vehicle is damaged but covers three months ago. They add the policy onto the principal to lengthen the loan. Not only can we not time travel. My insurance covered the vehicle. They might as well backdate all of their fees and charge all of their customers back dated services that no one can use. I would file a claim, but I can't back date accidents. I can't back date my primary insurance. Their insurance department doesn't give two craps about the financial impact to the consumer...even when they know that I have and HAD insurance coverage. Rude. Cash out and find another lender that doesn't pull tricks.

This bank has terrible customer service, they don’t provide a grace period when your account is overdrawn (even after sending the charge back), and they make the customer do more work than they will to fix an issue. My husband and I will be moving to a different bank. GECU is not worth the hassle and I don’t recommend.

If I could chose no stars I would. The customer service is absolutely horrible. As a customer of over 25 years, I will be closing all my accounts with the credit union asap. They already lost my brand new car loan to their "processing fees"...found the same rate somewhere else and no "processing fee"

I used to be very happy with the the customer service that I was getting from General Electric Credit Union but a couple of years a couple of years ago they soured me on their bank, due to the fact that they allowed a check (that I let sit in my account in order to make sure it was a good check), that they knew was bad to go through to my account. I end up paying for it. The only reason why the credit union even allowed me to get the loan from them in the first place was because they knew they let a bad check go through and this was to save themselves for being liable. I am still paying on a loan that they gave me to settle the negative in my account. I'm very disappointed with this bank and will be closing my accounts soon.

Dont get a car loan here! This bank is the most stereotypical, money hungry bank you can deal with. Thats not even the problem, they are thieves. They have charged me an extra $1700 several times throughout paying my car loan. Stay away if you dont want scammed

I have been dealing with GE Credit Union for many years now and they always have that "extra" little surprise to get you something better and to make your day worth smiling about even when times are tough. Other finance companies I have deal with can't compare to these people here. Great place to do the money thing. They will help you best.

Don't do it. Just don't. My auto loan will be paid off soon and then it's good riddance! I lost my job in the pandemic and ended up having to virtual school my child as a single parent. The hardships, like everyone's, were abundant. I wound up being two months behind on my payment to GE for my auto loan. I tried to refinance in advance or get my payment reduced with GE, but they refused. At this point, my loan was mostly paid off! Didn't matter. They took my car just before Thanksgiving instead of offering any help or lenience whatsoever. Getting my car back was hell. I've never had a vehicle repossessed before. After crowdfunding from family that was also struggling, I came to this location to pay the exorbitant amount due in payments and "fees". My payment was off by around $70. I wrote down the incorrect amount they gave me over the phone. The teller didn't say a word. She just smiled and said, "you should be good to go"! I spoke to a specialist as well and also told me my car was to be released to me. So I head to the car jail and tell them GE has released my car. The towing co. happily takes their own fees I owe to them THEN tell me GE has to give me a signed paper release. I'm pleading with the GE people in this office over the phone to email the towing co. the release and I'd drive back over to pay $70 they still wanted. I feel this was deliberate and they wanted to see how many hoops they could make me jump through to get my lifeline vehicle back. This was all borrowed time in a borrowed car and my trips were limited because THEY TOOK MY ALMOST PAID OFF CAR. Customer service from this building spoke to me like some criminal trying to defraud them of something. The person they transferred me to was even worse. She took offense because I assumed her gender because of her deep bass voice. What? Lady, I'm just trying to get my car. I was extremely revenged on during the worst pandemic of our lifetimes. How you, as a business, treated regular people that got put in situations like this should reflect very poorly on you. I will never forget. No, you don't need to reach out to me. You can review the customer service calls and make your own assessment. But my only resolution is to make sure everyone knows you tried to kick people when they were down.

The GECU is a wonderful place to bank, I go in and get nothing but great customer service, and professionalism from all the departments within. I had a loan which I paid off in full from this establishment. This is a one stop shop in banking. I will recommend this bank to others in fact I already did.
