Freedom Mortgage - Corporate Moorestown, NJ Reviews

Good luck if you are given rep Kristen Beebe. She was literally hired off a horse farm and was not experienced enough for my complicated scenario. My wife was literally in tears after the false promises given to us. I recommend going to one of the more established firms.

I didn't even know that I could have my interest rate lowered. One day I got a call from Freedom Mortgage and they told me how much I could save without much headache at all. It seemed "too good to be true". However, I signed all the initial paperwork within 20 minutes. A representative met me at my house a couple of weeks later and the refinance was complete. Easy peasy. I asked why they would just refinance my home with a lower interest rate and they told me that they'd rather be upfront and honest and keep me as a customer than have me search for a better rate somewhere else. They also said they want to give great service so that I will tell others how great they treat their customers. So I'm telling you, Freedom Mortgage is the way to go when financing your home.
Germy, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

Got a call from a loan officer trying to save me money. Offered a streamlined refinance with a cost savings each month and the overall life of loan. The process was super easy requiring all documents to be signed electronically. Was able to close in less than 2 weeks and it only took that long because of my schedule. Great job Freedom!
Bryan, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

We were thrilled with the opportunity to refinance our loan without having to pay closing costs to get a better rate. I was disappointed that the rate couldn't be lower though. I received several offers from other lenders offering the same closing cost coverage with a lower rate. Also, we went around and around for weeks because I kept getting phone calls to schedule my closing with the wrong loan information. It took far too much effort to make sure the loan did not reset at 30 years. Then, the day before we were supposed to close, we had to reschedule because the wrong documents were sent to the notary. I was never able to see these final documents before the person showed up at my house to sign them. I asked repeatedly to see them before, but never received a response. The gentleman who did our paperwork with us at our home was wonderful. He was very patient as we reviewed each document (which I had hoped to review ahead of time, but was unable to).
Katelynn, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review.

I have refinanced my Veterans home loan several times with freedom mortgage, and the quality of the entire process has always been flawless and professional. This time was no exception, from the documentation process to the final visit by the notary, all information was accurately presented, and the contracts offered as stated and understood. Thank you for a quality of life experience! A loyal customer
M
Whitney explained everything, answered all my questions, addressed my concerns and got me an even lower rate than originally offered. I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with my overall experience with Freedom Mortgage. From start to finish the entire process took less than 3 weeks.
J
What a great experience this has been. Freedom Mortgage called me, they CALLED ME! They called to tell me that I was eligible to reduce my interest rate and that I could lower my monthly note without changing the length of my loan. I cannot thank Todd Emrick enough for the way he handled the whole transaction. They were even able to send someone to my house, at a time that was convenient for me, to sign the closing documents. Excellent Service all around!

The one thing that I did not like was there seemed to be more than 1 person who was handling the loan process, the person I first talked with was Jackie who was very nice and helpful, then the person who was checking in with me, Matt, then the company who did the closing, then I we had no idea who we were supposed to pay the closing costs to, and then a fourth person called to tell us that we needed to wire the money. Seems it could be one smooth process and not so many hands in it. Would have liked to work directly with the woman that I had started the whole process with. Perhaps you could be more informative about that part, that you would be passed on to someone else. I had no idea that was going to happen. However, everyone was super nice and super helpful. I am not in any way complaining about the personnel who works for Freedom Mortgage. Matt was more than helpful with every question I had. He also kept in contact with me so I knew what was going on.

My loan processor Doug was amazing. He was fast and always had good communication. He was sensitive to my situation and worked with me to get my loan done in a timely manner. Always got back to me very quickly and was very knowledgeable on all my questions and the loan process. He made my experience with freedom mortgage positive and I can’t thank him enough for everything he did for me, and of course his patience with me when I became stressed was exceptional.

Our first point of contact was with Ms. Maria Goldstein. I mentioned we had been getting numerous letters from other Lenders & Mortgage companies; but we contacted Freedom re: the offer listed on our statement to lower the rate. The process from beginning to in went very smooth and she was most professional, very detailed and yet pleasant in conversation with her. We later rec'd email form Lisette Mendez going into more detail about the progress of our loan application which was most helpful and understandable. We really like Freedom as our mortgage company. They have been most reliable from the time we joined with them. They carry out the paperwork in such a timely manner and make the transition so smooth. Our VA loan with them

Freedom mortgage serviced my previous home loan, so when it was time to shop for a new home I reached out without hesitation. Ed Milian held my hand the entire way...always responded quickly and made sure things happened in a timely manner. We were able to close in less than 30 days of being under contract on our new home and we could not be more satisfied with our Freedom Mortgage experience! The loan process felt personal and professional. I would recommend Ed and the Freedom Team to all of my friends and family. Thank you!
Jency, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in the refinance process this time. My loan advisor changed three times, communication was pretty much non existent, and overall I was treated like a nuisance instead of a valued customer. My last loan advisor Patricia Wellmaker was the worst and never got back to me, even after multiple attempts. I ended up having to contact the first person that contacted us about the refinance to get any information. Overall the process did not go well and I'm just glad it's over.
Trinity, it is disappointing to hear your experience was unsatisfactory. I really do want to help. Would you please send me additional details about what occurred, so I may investigate the issue? After 6 months into my new home loan with Freedom Mortgage I was notified by Mr. Nasser that they could lower my interest rate with no costs to me. We went over everything on the phone, set a date for signing the papers at my house for my convenience and saved me over $125 a month. Everything went smooth and I got to skip a month on my payment. Couldn't have gone any better.

I was in the market to update my homeowners insurance and additionally took a call from Freedom who services my loan and they presented me with a great way to save some more money and options to do it via interest and time or monthly cost. I opted for the best deal they provided for me and they closed the loan super fast which benefited me even more. I am very happy with them as a Servicer and with the new Refinance we completed in early March 2020.
A
I was happy with the individuals who I talked to. They were patient as I asked questions I was unsure about. I would have like to have the bid sheet for my refinance be more specific though. There were a few instances of were some of the figures were very generalized and left me confused as I reviewed it, since it didn't add up. Also, I was called a lot, about every day. I realize they were just doing their job, but it got a little annoying, and I was still being called after signing the refinance paper work and the individuals I talked only realized that after I mentioned it to them. Figured there should be some type of screening done to not contact perspective clients who have already accepted a new contract.
D
I started the refinance process in November 2019 with Dan Marsan, and Freedom scheduled a closing date in December. They then failed to get the documents to the closing notary, and missed the appointment without a call or any communication. I couldn't get a call returned until January, and then I received a half-hearted apology with the explanation that a form was missed, and I should've been notified. Another date was scheduled for January, and they failed to send the disclosures ahead of time, a law violation. They then failed to get the documents to the notary until a few hours after our appointment. We were able to cancel our plans and complete the closing, only to be told that a form was wrong on their part, and we would have to sign everything again, and my whole mortgage payment was suddenly due. One more time, we scheduled closing in February, after freedom told me that they only did closings on one day in the month, which would be late enough that I would have to make the mortgage payment that I was told to keep. After hours of back and forth on the phone, they finally scheduled closing on a date that I could actually make. They still failed to send the legally required disclosures ahead of time, and even failed to send them upon request. We'll see if they got anything right this time...
Drew, I am sorry to hear that your experience has been so disappointing thus far. I really do want to help. Would you please email me directly with your loan number and property address so I can further investigate your situation? My email address is [email protected]. Thank you.
K
I can honestly say that most everything was great, but with one large exception. My refinancing was due to close and for me to sign at the beginning of Jan. I took off from work to sign the paperwork, but the morning of, about 30 minutes before the notary was supposed to arrive, he called saying that he hadn't received the paperwork. I called the mortgage company, and they said that there had been a personal change and that they would have to re start the paperwork. It only took about a week and a half, but it was still annoying to not know about it until the notary was due to arrive. Other than that though, the people I spoke to were nice and friendly.
Kenneth, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review.
C
I thought Doug and Ed did a great job. They kept us informed every step of the way. The reason your marks were a little low is because Freedom Mortgage kept calling me over and over to refinance the house I was selling. After telling them I was selling the house they would apologize and say they would take me off the list but they would call me again and again.

Worst refi experience ever. Disclosures on costs were NOT disclosed fully. RARELY EVER CALLS BACK! Refund for funds was requested by a Freedom supervisor months ago. NEVER have heard back. Left over 5 calls on this supervisors voicemail. NO CALLS RETURNED! If I could have rated Freedom Mortgage in negative numbers it would be a -10!
Mark, it is disappointing to hear your experience was unsatisfactory. I really do want to help. Would you please send me additional details about what occurred, so I may investigate the issue? Wayne and Larry were the best. They are customer service perfect! They always responded very quick to any of my concerns and helped me understand the process. I was not happy with Ebony, I feel she doesn't have good customer service skills. A little to aggressive for me, would call me at the last minute of needing something and sound demanding instead of kind. I would like to stress again that Wayne was extremely good through the "whole" process. He responded quickly to my calls and took the time to make sure I understood any processes taking place. I may have given up on my loan if it weren't for Wayne! I appreciated him.

The overall experience was good from start to finish. I appreciate the initial guidance of Elizabeth Gordon and her ability to navigate me through the process and aggressiveness to refocus if things got off track. My loan processor Dimple Reid likewise was great providing outstanding assistance and guidance and a personal touch to never let me lose faith or get frustrated. I am so thankful I found my way to Freedom for my home buying experience.
Sherman, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

This refinance was a nightmare. Nothing but lies, when someone could not answer a question they would transfer you to someone else who would never pick up the phone. 50 minute wait times and still can not speak to a person. Three closing dates were cancelled finally we closed on the fourth appointment. It was 2 days before closing and I had yet to get a copy of the closing documents. Finally someone emailed them to me. Is this how you treat all of your disabled Veterans. Right now I am very much thinking about changing mortgage companies.
Joe, it is disappointing to hear your experience was unsatisfactory. I really do want to help. Would you please send me additional details about what occurred, so I may investigate the issue? Please include your loan number and property address in the email. My email address is [email protected]. Thank you.
S
1st- The loan officer sold us on a refinance that would only take "10 days" to close, instead it took 3 months. 2nd- The lack of communication informing and explaining why the refinance would be delayed was never given. (I have an A rating credit score and have never been late on a mortgage payment). And when we called the customer service representative could not give us any explanation and never called back at the promised time or ever for that matter. 3rd- When the closing was finally scheduled no closing documents were ever sent to the closing and no communication informing that the closing would be delayed for a week until hours after the appointment time had already passed. This was truly the worst banking experience I have ever had.
R
Gary Lynde my mortgage guru kept me up to date and current with any questions I may have had. I have been with Freedom for quite awhile, I asked them not to bother me with notifications unless they can drop my APR down a half point or more and this is what they have done. Extremely happy. D}
M
After paying my mortgage on time for 10 months Freedom mortgage called me to offer a refinance at no cost, lowered my interest rate by one point, and I received a $500 check back in the mail. If that wasn't enough, I got to miss two mortgage payments. The closer came to my house. I have never experienced such. Convenience
B
My biggest concern comes from the lack of communication I had with the loan officer after an estimate for the loan was signed. I attempted several phone calls and an email stating concerns on the differences between the estimated and actual loan. After reviewing the documents side by side, for an extended amount of time, I was able to figure out the discrepancy was the taxes estimated versus actual was different by over $2500. A lot of frustration would have been avoided if the loan officer would have communicated better. The rest of the loan process was effortless on my part.
B
I worked with Mike Nasser. He was professional and informative. He was very responsive and answered every question fully. He walked me through the refi process in great detail. I had thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Freedom Mortgage up until this but Mike really sent the experience over the top. I cannot say enough good things about Mike and Freedom Mortgage. Every homeowner should have the privilege of working with Freedom Mortgage.
C
After wasting 3 months with another company only to be told their 'investors' were requiring another appraisal, we called Freedom Mtg (our original lender). The refinance to a lower interest rate was done within 3 weeks! Not only that, we saved on closing costs & didn't "extend" the life of the mortgage back out to 30 years. Freedom Mortgage is raising the bar with their customer service! Always courteous, prompt, & knowledgeable!
Cindy, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

As with all previous transactions with this company. Our rate reduction was the opposite if simple or easy. It created an immense amount of frustration and anger in an already stressful time. From forcing us to essentially finance our escrow to having an attitude or being unresponsive when our "other costs" changed by $1,800, I have serious doubts about the competency of the staff and no doubt they lack empathy and understanding. I would never recommend this company to anyone, not even a person I disliked very much. I absolutely cannot wait for enough time to pass so that we can get our mortgage away from this company. The. Worst. Ever.
M
This entire process was very unorganized and the employees not engaged and on the same page. They waited too far into the process to let me know about out of pockets and could not explain certain misc fees. I know I could’ve got a better package but I have spent too long into the process to start over and miss work to start over. I would not recommend anyone to freedom mortgage after this refinance process. I never had any issues with freedom mortgage in the past but now I’m not sure if I have made the best decision with this company

I would give zero starts if possible. This has been a terrible experience. My loan officer was unresponsive for weeks after getting our initial signatures when I had questions about the closing document which had changed from the initial estimate. My loan closing was cancelled without my knowledge, the notary was also not notified it was cancelled. My rescheduled closing was not communicated to the notary. We still have not closed because they failed to reschedule a third time. I am now contacting my unresponsive loan officer.
P
I've been in this refinance process since Sep. The agent said for me to skip the October payment, which I did. Then Freedom Mortgage reported a late payment to my credit bureau. My score dropped from 750 to 699 instantly because of it! Ruined my credit and still calling me to complete refinance! Incredible!

My Loan Advisor Tom Debbeau informed me I would receive my escrow in cash back. During these challenging times of course I preferred that over it being applied to my loan. I mean who couldn't use an extra $3000.00 right now. I was assured he would look into it as it was mainly taxes and being as though I am a 100% disabled veteran I do not have to pay taxes in my state. After 2 weeks I sent a note through the messaging system and never received a response. Right before closing I called and he assured me It would be sent out post closing. At closing I was reviewing my documents and realized my escrow had been rolled into my new loan exact opposite of my request. Completely mislead me the whole way through.
B
David contacted us about lowering our interest rate and was quick to answer all our questions. We were sceptical at first because our local mortgage company said refinancing would be impossible. But now, one month later, we closed the deal through freedom motgage. It was very easy, straight forward and informative.
g
Received a phone call from Lorenzo Fray from Freedom Mortgage about a refi. He explained that Freedom Mortgage wanted to keep me as a customer by offering me a cheaper rate and they would take care of all the closing and costs. Inspire took the closing and sent a great 3rd party to come to our house to sign our papers. The only input that I can give is for Freedom Mortgage to email or send some snail mail alerting customers that they may receive a phone call from them about a refinance opportunity. When I got the phone call, I had to call the next day to confirm with Freedom Mortgage that Lorenzo was indeed an employee. Lorenzo was very professional, but when you hear about 80 other people in a room on the phone draws potential red flags and the potential of a customer hanging up which I almost did. There are so many scams out there that you can't be too careful. That is my only concern. Thank you F.M.! We are happy customers!

I'm a mortgage broker, and the only thing that bothered me was my loan officer trying to tell me that my loan will be at no cost! The loan was still beneficial, and that is the reason I moved forward. Please make sure you provide upfront and honest information, versus trying to convince a customer to accept services based on false information. I have been overall pleased with Freedom Mortgage, however. honesty and transparency is paramount!
H
This transaction of streamline refinancing of my mortgage that is currently held with Freedom Mortgage began quite pleasantly and then as soon as I agreed to move forward with the transaction it was awful. My loan advisor Michael Weil has not returned a single phone call since we signed the initial document and has only responded to one email with a single sentence with an incomplete answer to my questions. I have sent several emails and made multiple phone calls. No one else has able to assist me due to the fact that they are not a licensed broker which i understand but they are also unsuccessful in getting anyone to call me back. My loan officer nor his boss Thomas O will return a single phone call in over a month. I spoke to an individual named Natasha that is in customer service and she was rude and dismissive and extremely arrogant. The lack of communication in this transaction is a direct reflection in how poorly managed this business is. There are many mortgage companies that love clients like us that without fail pay on time and never miss a payment. I only continued with this transaction for my convenience due to the extraordinary times we are currently facing.
J
Christian Cooper, Ryan Ford were exceptional in helping me get my refinance mortgage started and closed in as little as 14 days as expected. Always kept me informed via phone call and email. Fast responses. felt as I was a priority!! well done guys!!

Mine is an unusual situation I am sure. That being said, it comes with it, challenging communication and the need to stay on top of everything. I have tried to ensure that my representative has had all of the information to properly remove the taxes from the mortgage due to VA disability, and make sure during the re-finance process that one hand in the process works with the other. But it seems that things keep getting dropped and communication is not happening within the company between members. I have provided the required documents and information so many times and to so many different people, but nobody is able to get the process done so far. Sat down at closing and had to end the closing due to inaccurate paperwork. Still waiting.
Matt, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review.
M
This has been a smooth and non-stressful closing I have ever done. Your staff is awesome, they stayed on point and provided guidance and help through out the process. My hat goes off to Matt and Mike, they are true professionals. I'm very satisfied to be part of the Freedom Mortgage clientele.
Miguel, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Our original loan officer Diane Reilly was fantastic to work with and explained everything to us so we could understand. Anytime I had a question I was able to get through to her or she would at least call me back. Once the initial paperwork was submitted for our refinance loan and it started getting handled by a different department with Freedom Mortgage communication was lost. Nicole Rogowski was the one handling our loan and she never communicated with us what was going on with our loan. Every time I tried to reach out to her she was unavailable and would never call me back. It wasn't until I called Diane and she helped me get supervisors involved was I able to get an answer from Nicole. I had to do all of the leg work to try and get in touch with the title company to release my title (or so Nicole told me), but in reality it was an internal hold up and had nothing to do with me. It took us three months to finalize our refinance mainly due to the lack of communication and follow-up with internal departments within Freedom Mortgage.
Alyssa, I am sorry to hear about your experience with Customer Care. Please email me directly at [email protected] with your loan number and property address and the issue you are having, and I will have it reviewed with the appropriate supervisor.
L
Our loan advisor kept us informed every step of the way. They made sure they answered our questions quickly if we emailed or called them. Everything was so quick and easy with zero confusion that it almost didn't feel like we were applying to refinance!

This experience was very different than my last refinance I did with Freedom Mortgage in August 2018. That refinance went very smooth and my Loan Team Members were exceptional. This time around; there were some things that took place due to either inexperience or incompetence. Not too sure; because it was hard to get answers to my questions.
Michael, it is disappointing to hear your experience was unsatisfactory. I really do want to help. Would you please send me additional details about what occurred, so I may investigate the issue? This refi was an easy and quick process. My initial contact person(Kurt) was very helpful answering all my questions and concerns. He responded quickly to emails and was very professional. The next person in the process was Leenard, who handled the final stages of the transaction and was also very professional and prompt. I was well informed throughout this process and I want to thank these individuals and Freedom Mortgage for making this a quick and painless experience. I will definitely recommend Freedom to others and use them in the future.

Our advisor was Brian Kelley. He passed us off to Jerry Bolivar. Mr. Bolivar said he would provide weekly updates about our status. 3 weeks passed and we had to call for an update. This went on for about 45 days. We then asked for a new advisor and Mr. Kelley said he would handle our account from that point on. We still had to call and ask for updates and went as far as contacting a new mortgage company to begin a new refinance. We started this process on September 19 and just finished the signing on December 14. There was no feedback unless we initiated contact. We even referred our daughter to Freedom Mortgage and she had the same issue and ended up going with another lender because of the lack of customer service. No more referrals from us for this company.
Robert, I am sorry to hear about your experience with Customer Care. Please email me directly at [email protected] with your loan number and property address and the issue you are having, and I will have it reviewed with the appropriate supervisor.

We had to apply for a loan twice. The first experience was horrible and I was ready to write Freedom off. After my complaint, the application was re-opened. The second time around was a much better experience. The advocate was informative, polite, professional, responsive and engaging. She made me believe in Freedom again.

It was a great experience from start to finish. The appraisal was very fair, my mortgage person was great and we had appt times that were set at my convenience. Its was like clockwork even for changes I needed in order to make it work. I'm a very Happy Customer, Thanks!!!
Richard, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.
D
We have done a handful of VA refi's with Freedom Mortgage and the first couple of times the process went smoothly and closed on time without issues. But this last time we did a cash out refi and there were so many mistakes and the ball was dropped on so many occasions that we were going to cancel but they kept telling us that we will close soon but then a new issue would come up without anyone contacting us to let us know until we made contact to ask what is the problem. I worked in this industry and know the process and have done many purchases and refi's on my own properties so I know the process and how things should be handled and the mistakes that can happen when there is no communication along the way amongst all parties involved. I know the lingo and the jargon used to get a customer to stay and not cancel when they are upset when things aren't going the way they promised which it rarely ever does but there is a point when a customer has to wait months to close on a home loan that should have taken only 30-45 max that makes a customer lose all hope for wanting to work with a company that doesn't do its job as one hopes and was verbally promised. "Action scream louder than words!!!" We were sent an email for the opportunity to do a simple No Fee VA Rate Reduction Streamline and it took 3 months to get the deal closed. We wanted cancel numerous times for there lack of communication and very poor customer service. We were given the run around so many times and had signing scheduled 3 times before we actually got to sign. We are very close to signing the cancellation papers! We were never even sent the Closing Docs and had the Notary go over with the us what was actually in our Docs. We definitely Do Not recommend Freedom Mortgage because this was not the first deal where we were not happy with the process with them. Our previous loan they completely messed up our Escrow account and we were expected to pay $500 more a month for close to a year because they obviously Do Not care about customers and have poor customer service. They make promises to fix it and then completely drop the ball and don't even do what was promised. They owe us close to $5000 from our Escrow account. We shouldn't have to call every week for almost a year for this issue to get fixed, Period! Go to Veteran's United if you want excellent customer service!!!

Did not enjoy my VA Streamline refinance process. Was kept out of the loop with no follow up during and after closing. Still having issues with my escrow account that are yet to be resolved and keep getting the runaround on. After over 2 hours of customer support time over 2 weeks with no resolution I am beyond frustrated.

We are very appreciative of the outcome but the process was less than ideal. We believe that the people were trying to do their job and they were all very pleasant. However the system and coordination drove us crazy, especially when trying to set up the closing meeting. Everything ended we however the communication was poor and needs to be improved.
Jim, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. I am sorry to hear you are not completely satisfied with your experience. If there is anything I can do to assist you, please email me directly at [email protected]. In the email, please include your loan number and property address as well.

I originally was contact by Freedom Mortgage (FM) about a refinance, was offered a rate, but with the caveat of, if you find a better rate, we'll match the offer. So I did, that is when things went to a very bad place. So much so, I gave up on the refinance. The two officials that blew me off were Colin John McManimon (team leader) and Randall Schrope (sales manager). I sent them numerous emails and called several times, and nothing was returned, though I received a couple of emails and phone calls by lower level employees saying the loan was ready to close and to set up the closing. I stated that I wanted to talk to their Boss before I went forward. I assumed they (and their Boss) deliberately didn't want to talk to me because they never contacted me and couldn't deliver the lower rate. That is fine, but just be upfront. It was very unprofessional. It totally discouraged me from the Freedom Mortgage product, and it would be doubtful if I would refer FM to anyone. The only reason I did refinance with you was the call I received from Kayla Adens, a loan advisor, with information on the current rate, which still did not match the other offer. She was professional and apologised to me for the behavior of the others, though she said she did not know of the other refinance attempt. I was, and still am very disappointed Additionally, when I did refinance, you still withdrew my loan payment for my previous loan, which you stated that I would not have a payment until March. One hand in your organization should be talking to the other, and not withdrawing a payment when the loan was technically closed, and a new one began. Again, disappointed, and wondering if I will see that money...
J
Initial contact was good but when I sent emails (three) to request clarification on a couple questions, I didn't get a response back to either of the emails that I sent. Communication was less than desirable, and I've typically had a good experience with Freedom Mortgage.

I am very upset at the way my refinance was handled. I received a call with great news on my VA Loan. I was told the rate would drop and I would save money on my monthly mortgage. I was told that a date was set to sign the docs and that I would not have to pay the December and January payment. The initial date to sign docs was missed so I Immediately contacted Freedom financial to get another date ASAP. I was told that it was being taken care of multiple times but nobody has the decency to return my phone calls. It has been a back and forth for me trying to get and answer. I received on call and return the phone call left a voicemail and have not heard nothing so I called again a left a voicemail. Nobody has helped me get this resolved!! I get an email this morning telling me that I have to pay the December payment and if I don’t do it by the 13th I have the pay December and January. I don’t have that money and now I am in a horrible situation that would have been removed if someone took my situation seriously. How unfair that I get an email today letting me know about this. I only have two days to come up with the money and that is irresponsible from freedom financial. I am really upset and if I don’t get a response ASAP I will have to go to the VA for help. I am highly disappointed because we pride ourself son making payments on time and because of this experience we are delinquent. Not a good way to start my 2020 year. I hope someone calls because I don’t have any trust in your company.
George, it is disappointing to hear your experience was unsatisfactory. I really do want to help. Would you please send me additional details about what occurred, so I may investigate the issue? Freedom is a great mortgage company. They contacted me about lowering my interest rate, I didn't have to call them. They handled the whole process with ease. A very good experience.
Bret, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

I have been with Freedom Mortgage for 3 years and never expected to experience such excellence in a mortgage company. Meghan and Aaron were very professional, confident and positive in all areas of handling my refinance. I have never experience such efficiency in such a short amount of time. I am very grateful that I took heed to the letter about refinancing because I am now having a deck built and other concerns fixed to my property. Thank You Meghan, Aaron and Freedom Mortgage for helping my dreams come true.
Renee, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

First, I refused to close on the refinance for several reasons. The process took five months for a VA "streamline" loan. Given this extended time, the refi loan amount was not adjusted for continued payments I'd been making causing the final loan amount to be ~ $4,000 over my existing balance. Additionally, the actual closing costs that I only learned about at Closing were ~$3800 more than my part in the original estimated closing costs. My loan advisor (Rachele Leach) had not contacted me during the ~3.5 months prior to Closing. So none of this was explained nor did she respond to several mortgage rate-related emails I sent to her. I had to go through the Closing scheduling process multiple times only for Freedom Mort. to cancel multiple times because they didn't have the paperwork in order. I was always called by a different person (non-consistent contact person). I got repeated calls from my Title company asking me for paperwork that Freedom Mort. was supposed to deliver, the location of the closing and how the process is supposed to work. I didn't know any of these answers and this indicates poor communication by Freedom Mort. with the Title company. I called David DeRisi to report this and ask for help, but he failed to respond to my emails. I would still like to find agreeable terms for a refinance, but I will not work with Freedom Mortgage if I don't see a proactive and positive response to these issues.

We started off our refinance with Austin Ludwig on October 4, 2019 then worked with Carole Dudley. Although, Carole was very nice the entire experience was not good. I do feel that Carole did all she could but wasn't supported by others to help her with the process. Our refinance took just over 2 months to finally complete. I was very involved because the process was so slow and delayed without letting me know why. I contacted the Title company myself to get the processed moving. In the beginning we were told that we could borrow the amount the home was worth and use the equity to pay off debt. We provided what debt we wanted to pay off twice, once in October and then again December 5. On December 11th the new documents came for us to sign and I noticed that both loans were not listed on the documents. I contacted Austin myself and asked why and he didn't even realize what was listed on there. He looked into it and said that there wasn't enough money to cover both loans. I understand this now, but the amount hasn't changed and they are the same loans that were presented in October and again on Dec 5th and NO ONE told me this. I had to figure it out myself. After reviewing everything, I believe that the closing costs were not considered and then when the final documents were completed it was realized there wasn't enough money to cover both. But as I said no one contacted me to say anything! I had to reach out again to ask why. SO many excuses from your company with out accountability. In this process, each month I was told to not make a monthly payment yet because we would hopefully close. October wasn't going to happen so I called and made the payment and then again in November the same thing. I didn't realize that the payment processing people charged me a late fee both months. I asked for them to be removed because I didn't feel it was fair that I was being charged for the late fee and I was told that they couldn't remove it. Therefore, I paid late fees that were unnecessary and should not have been charged to me! Finally, we were set to sign our refinance papers and when doing so on December 20th, the notary had paperwork for me, Lisa Decena, to sign saying that I was a veteran. I am not a veteran. my husband is. Today is December 24th and I received a statement from Freedom Mortgage for the old loan saying I was late and now due for both months December and January. This whole process has been a nightmare and if we wouldn't have already waited so long, I would have cancelled and go through another company. I will not recommend your loan services to anyone. I feel that it was one excuse after another and no accountability. I did more then a normal customer should have to do to get this loan completed and done. Again this was a horrible experience and I thought it would be easier because, I already had my mortgage through Freedom Mortgage. So, refinancing should be pretty easy because they already have some much information from the previous loan. I was wrong! I was told my Austin that Freedom Mortgage is the number 1 lender for VA mortgages, I am sad to here this. Hopefully, you serve others better then you have served us.

My initial home loan was established by the VA and serviced through Homebridge. This was later purchased by freedom mortgage just a few months later. In regards to this refinance, the initial Loan processor (Todd) was great, however, further down the chain things seemed to be poorly communicated if communicated at all, along with very untimely, and no returned calls. I had to call 2 months in a row before I could finally reach my “advocate” (Eboni). Even after my initial refinance closing, the very next day I was called/solicited again for additional refinance options making it clear there is no organization and communication between departments. Very concerning.

Everyone has always been so great. They walked me through every step, sent a notary to my house at closing and sent contact info after every stage of the refi. Kaitlyn Marie Baxter, thank you for making sure I had the best interest rate, all information when I needed it and for making this process go so smooth. You're the best!
Katrina, thank you for the positive feedback. Our team works hard to ensure every customer enjoys the best possible home financing experience. Your feedback will be shared with the appropriate team members. We thank you for your time.

My wife and I wanted to upgrade our home with new more efficient windows, so we called Freedom Mortgage and asked about using the equity in our home. After completing a short phone interview and some electronically signed documents, our refinance was on its way. Freedom Mortgage followed up several times to be sure the loan that was being structured met all our needs. Several other representatives called to keep us informed as the loan progressed. Freedom Mortgage then arranged for the notary/closing agent to meet us at our home and completed all the needed paperwork in a timely manner. The paperwork can be a real hassle, but dedicated Freedom Mortgage representatives made it all smooth and painless. We would highly recommend the services of Freedom Mortgage.
George, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is so rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and that you are so very pleased. Thank you again.
J
Refinanced with an IRRL and received the best interest rate reduction available. Process was seamless and streamlined since they were my previous lender. All concerns addressed appropriately. Well-worth retaining Freedom Mortgage as my lender. Highly Recommended.
Justin, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

The was the worst refinance experience I have ever had with any company. The agent6did not return my call in a timely manner. My paperwork was wrong ever though they had the right information. It took 6 or seven time for them to get someone out to close my loan and some of the paperwork was still wrong. I had to reschedule the closing about 7 ti.es because they would set a date and no one would show up. When I would call they would know why no one did show this went on for about 7 time all together. Loan advisor on down. I would call and people would not call me back this is just to sum it up. They need to work on some ways to improve there process. I am still waiting on my advisor to call me back from a week ago

Received offer to reduce the interest rate on my VA loan. Contacted Freedom mortgage and everything went very smoothly and quickly. Finished the entire process in just a few weeks.
M
We have had a very good experience with the Freedom from beginning to end. The only glitch we experienced was with a very unresponsive title company. But because of the tenacity of the loan officer, we were able to get the work completed to our satisfaction
Michael, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Out of the five and a half years we have owned our home, dealing with Freedom Mortgage has been the worst experience ever. There has only been 1 person that I have dealt with that has even remotely done anything to actually help and move things along and that is Ms. Chasity Hampton in the re-financing department. I submitted paperwork that was needed to get my closing finished that wasn't put through in a timely manner until I mentioned it to Ms. Hampton, I had phone calls and emails that were never returned when I tried to get information on the status of different things... it was just an overall bad experience. After almost 4 months, I am still waiting on my loan to close. I have not even been able to talk to anyone directly from the lender office to notify them of this experience and to get things cleared up and in my opinion that is not the way to handle business. Personally I don't even want to give the one star but apparently this won't get posted unless I click on at least one.

Perhaps my only complaint stems from having lived in a small town and doing business in that manner, with normally one or two persons. In this case it seems we had calls and emails from multiple people in which I felt almost untrustworthy of what was taking place with the mortgage institution. Often times I would revert to the website to make sure who I was about to interact with, that I actually was dealing with an employee with Freedom Mortgage. Aside from that -our experience has been EXCELLENT. Thank You!
Chris, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

Freedom Mortgage has been phenomenal in keeping me informed of rate adjustments and opportunities to offer the best possible rates. My recent experience with Freedom Mortgage and Rosemary C. was a very pleasant experience. Rosemary was very professional and personable in helping me to make my decision to refinance our home with Freedom Mortgage. I would like to personally thank Rosemary and the entire staff at Freedom Mortgage for such a wonderful experience. I will personally recommend Freedom to all my friends and associates. THANK YOU !!!

Not sure if all the names of the people I spoke with, but ALL were very nice to me on the phone. Answered any questions and got back to me right away. Signing my paperwork was very simple and easy. David Phipps, The Notary did a wonderful job and very enjoyable to speak with.
P
Anthony Guido Davi III was fantastic the electronic stuff was pretty good also! All in all the procedure was really easy to process. It would of been better if my computer didn't die in the beginning of this cost me several weeks of time wasted. Notary girl - Sarah- was both very organized and very nice. Knew her job well! She has been the best out of all the notaries that have come to the house for refinance over the years! Great experience to say the least!
D
This company operates with a degree of excellence that cannot be matched by any other company. My loan advisor, Matthew Napkora was nothing short of amazing from start to finish. He got my loan started and finished in record time and was always ready to answer all questions that I had. I am extremely pleased with the service I received and would not want to do business with any other mortgage company!
T
The lady assigned to handle my loan was informed of my work hours, second shift, but always managed to contact me while I was at work needing information and documents right then. Always asking for something that had already been sent, in one case a month earlier. Very nerve racking, will not recommend Freedom to anyone without telling them about all the last minute land mines.
A
If it wasn't for Tracey Lynde I would have stopped my loan process in a heartbeat. She's the only one that actually tried to help. Valerie Usher would never return my phone calls. The notary lady Teri Cavazos was extremely rude and late for our appointment. My overall refinancing experience was horrible with freedom mortgage. Two of the three people that came in contact with did not represent the company well. I'm definitely thinking twice before doing any more business with freedom mortgage.

My husband and I had the best experience with the whole VA refinance process. We have worked with other lenders before, but in all honesty, Freedom Mortgage has been the best! Everyone at Freedom Mortgage worked together and insured that we were able to close our loan in thirty days and receive our money three days later. Leigh Hood was the person we initially spoke to, she was very thorough, informative, and professional. We worked with Lashae Latimore through the next phase of the process and she was extremely friendly and made sure that we had all of the documents that were required. She kept us informed during the whole process. We finally spoke to Larry Eisenberg about the last phase of our loan process and he explained everything in great detail. It was obvious to my husband and myself that they were all experienced and knew what they were doing. VA loans can be difficult as there is extra paperwork involved, but we always felt that everyone involved would take care of us. We are certainly glad that we went through Freedom Mortgage for our VA refinance and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to secure a home loan!
Connie, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

Odori was my leader and he didn't answer my calls or emails. I had to call customer service who would stay on the line to get a response which never happened. They said another person would call me in 3 hours. That never happened either. Finally another customer service agent listened and got someone to answer my questions. Freedom Mortgage acted like they never knew who I was or what my circumstances were when I called. This was just the refinance end. The month to month communication is just as bad. The worst thing that has ever happened to me and my husband business wise is our mortgage falling into the hands of Freedom Mortgage. It's been a nightmare.

Julia was disengaged at best but she was quite successful at ensuring we came away feeling we were bothering her throughout the process. Never again will we do business with Freedom Mortgage. We'd appreciate it if you would arrange to drop our mortgage into the next batch you sell to another mortgage processor. We don't want to deal with your firm.

Had a great experience working with Jesse Parish. Other than that, not good. I turned in all forms and paperwork requested of me immediately and on time. Then on freedom mortgages behalf used the wrong Certificate of Entitlement on my VA loan. They used a refinance instead of purchase. This was not caught until a day before closing which delayed the entire process. Then on top of that I was denied Freedom mortgages closing date guarantee or $1000 refund. I tried contacting Dennis Work email and phone messages with no response. I cannot rate well for a company that does not honor what they advertise.
R
If it wasn't for the great Gary Lynde this loan would not have been taken care of! My wife and I are eternally grateful to him. Besides that the company no one answers and no one called and made it easy. I understand that the loan wasn't easy but what I do see is that if it isn't easy then they look the other way. Shame on you for that. This is the second time that we tried to refinance and thank God for Gary Lynde we accomplished it. Hats off to that man we are truly grateful for his help. He would answer the phone and emails on a timely manner. Can't say nothing bad about him he has the greatest attitude and the best customer service!! He deserves all the good things that are coming to him. God bless you Gary Lynde always!!

Customer service was terrible. My customer advocate Selena McCleave would not respond to voice messages and when she responded to emails it was 2 weeks later. It took two months before I was scheduled to close and then that was a fiasco because the information I was given about closing was incorrect, which pushed back closing by another week. The one saving grace in my whole experience was Brandon Rosenthal, my loan officer, who wasnt my original loan officer but took over when the other guy left the company. At a minimum, there needs to be some extensive customer service training done. The whole process was so frustrating that I was about to cancel the whole process and change companies and make a BBB report. (You can thank Brandon for saving my business) I will not recommend Freedom Mortgage to anyone I know.
Monica, I am sorry to hear about your experience with Customer Care. Please email me directly at [email protected] with your loan number and property address and the issue you are having, and I will have it reviewed with the appropriate supervisor.

Freedom Mortgage and their staff were exceptional. My representative explained the Refi process and when we hung up the process began. Everything I was told happened accordingly. This was the fastest most efficient Refi we have experienced. Freedom gets a 10!!

If I had questions I talked to a different person each time - the “loan officer” wasn’t even available to me. She didn’t ask how long I planned to stay in my house to know if a refi was even beneficial to me, and the explanation of what costs would be added to my loan was lacking. Should have listen to my gut and not done it but they wouldn’t stop calling me so I finally picked up the phone.

Brian Jensen was my handler and he was outstanding. He made the whole process stress free and kept me informed all through the process. I would recommend Freedom Mortgage to anyone and everyone looking to finance a new home. Great people to work with and a great Mortgage Company. The can count me in!

At the closing, there were some questions about some of the documents. Getting a hold of someone from Freedom was difficult. Once I did get a hold of the 1st person (Adiea ?), she did not speak clearly, and was obviously not informed to the papers I was asking about. Her feedback to me was "to not sign those sheets". After a second call and extended wait on hold, I was able to speak to a better informed gentleman (did not capture name, but he was good). He understood the process and took the time to look up the pages I was referencing. All in all, time was extended by about 45 min talking to call center folks. Very much appreciate the "Home closing" option, Evette was great.
R
The closing disclosure I signed on 02/27/2019 was different, and indicated a lessor monthly payment than the closing disclosure provided by the notary service. I understand that the initial disclosure was only an estimate. However, I was not informed of the change prior to closing. Regardless, I'll use Freedom Mortgage in the future and recommend them to everyone. Thanks for a quick and easy VA IRRRL process.

Stay far far away from Freedom Mortgage. After nearly 6 months since first inquiring, many false promises, and being held hostage financially for that period, I simply had to walk away. The absolute worst communication and customer service I have ever experienced. I have been through several refinances and new home loans over the years and I have never seen anything like it. The title company they use, Inspire, is horrifying. If the loan had gone through I wouldn’t be confident in the job they were doing. They took months (yes months) trying to clarify a couple items on the title. One simple phone call is all it took for me. Freedom employees do not respond to emails or phone calls until you practically have to threaten them. They admitted to and apologized for their poor communication a couple times but then continued doing the same thing. After the type of loan changed due to misinformation they gave me and all the delays, they tried adding over $11,000 in points. This was their version of doing me a favor by keeping the rate as quoted. If you are working with Greg Clarke, Paul Moore, or Amanda Cunningham (at Inspire), you are in my prayers. I am currently working on a detailed timeline and complaint to be submitted by the Massachusetts Division of Bank per their recommendation.
Matt, Thank you for your review. We are sorry that your Freedom Mortgage experience fell short of your expectations, but thankful you took the time to share your opinion.

Loan Officer, Dylan Arnold. Shortly after I agreed to the loan, the service went downhill. There were multiple questions that I had, that he either refused to answer, or told me to contact someone else, vice find the answer and give it to me. I called numerous times, and received no answer. I left a message, and didn't get a call back. I was told that I would be called, then I was never called and I had to call that person back. I had an issue with the previous loan payoff amount. I notified Dylan, and other people about this. They took no action and told me I was wrong. I then even went so far as to pull the payoff document from freedom mtg myself, and proved to them that what I was saying was correct. I didn't get the final CD until less than 24 hours prior to closing, after I requested it myself, because it was never sent to me. 24 hours prior to closing, the document was still wrong. I notified the closing department, and my loan officer, about the continued issues, and nothing was done. I was promised someone would call me back later that day, but no one ever called. The next morning, the day of closing, I called Freedom Mtg, and they simply sent me the same incorrect document from the previous day; nothing had changed because nothing was done. The time of closing came and went without me signing anything because of the incompetence of the people who were working on this loan. I even sent them the documents for them to input the numbers myself, yet it wasn't done. I am a now 3 time customer of Freedom Mortgage. I have an 800+ credit score with an income of over 200k/yr. I have virtually no debt/income ratio and I am a disabled veteran. I have made 100% of my payments on time, every time, yet I feel like a customer that no one at your company is motivated to earn my business. I invite you to review every phone call and every email that I sent regarding this loan, and you will see that, even with my help, the people working at freedom mtg, were unable to complete a simple task. The customer service and commitment to quality is virtually non-existent.

I was very pleased with the whole process. I could not had a better loan adviser in Lydia Santiago. She was accessible and very user friendly. She returned my calls and updated me as needed on the loan process. Gary Smith Jr. was punctual and on point. He was detailed and had everything in order. When I looked at my watch it was 11 am, my door bell rung and it was Mr. Smith on time. They both made the transition smooth and easy. I was very pleased with the process.

Freedom made our refinance a very seamless and stress-free process. Tyler was on top of everything and was always available if we had questions. We never had to wait long for a call back or email response. The entire process was very smooth, easy to understand and extremely organized. We are also excited to be saving money with our lower rate! Highly recommend and can't thank you enough.

Overall, we appreciate the steps to reduce our mortgage. My loan advisor, Chris, was friendly and mostly attentive but never got back to me or returned my call regarding the likelihood of getting a better than .5 reduction. While I was happy with the .5 reduction, I believe the bank could have gone lower, as I asked. Also, we pay twice a month and the mid-month payment was not able to be stopped in time. When speaking with the 2nd account officer regarding this, she requested I send her my bank statement showing the money was taken out, in order to get a refund...even though she could see the money being deposited in my Freedom Mortgage account, resulting in taking 10 business days to refund. Why the red tape when you can see the money deposited already, just refund...and why 10 days?
Duaine, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review.

When I was contacted in mid November by Brandon Rosenthal, it seemed too good to be true! First, he was calling ME.. I never thought I would be eligible for a refinance just 8 months after purchasing the house. Then the even more amazing news: my payment would go down several hundred dollars a month, my interest rate would go down a full percent (saving me over $100,000 over the course of the loan), no closing cost because I’m a military surviving spouse, skip my January payment (yippee!) and no pulling my credit! Wow! Then the easy part! Couple of disclosures to sign online and the notary comes to my house for closing paperwork!! It was the easiest transaction that I never thought could be possible! I’m so grateful for the care, customer service, friendliness, and respect the employees at Freedom Mortgage gave me. And to save me so much money helps me more than they know!! I would recommend Freedom Mortgage to anyone!! Especially if you’re a veteran or buying your home with a VA loan. I could not be more pleased with every step of this process! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Once the initial paperwork was completed with Cody Taylor it was passed to a Patricia Waterman (?) and I could never reach them after that. I received no update except going on line to check status. I never received any calls or return email from Patricia period and Cody did not respond to voice messages or emails either. My saving grace were the wonderful people that work customer service! They could get me the answers I needed and to people with a great knowledge of what was going on. Then, when it came time to have the final paperwork signed and notorized, Krista Davis came to our home without a copy of the paperwork for us and did not return my emails requesting same as she had promised to email copies to me. I ended up once again calling customer service who led me to Frances who was able to immediately email me copies, she was a fantastic lady to speak with. The process itself was easy, it did proceed rather quickly and I would definitely recommend Freedom Mortgage to anyone. I'd just let them know not to expect to hear from anyone other than possibly an initial contact, if they want information, call customer service and they will take care of you.

The loan process started off great. Things were done quickly and explained to me as it progressed. At the end of the loan the day before I was to close they changed my closing date. I was told a mistake was made. When I asked what kind of my mistake my question went unanswered and I never found out. The day I finally closed the numbers were off so I called Christian Cooper before I signed anything wanting to know why. He was not in but left his boss Randall's number so I tried him. I wanted to know why the costs were off by that much. I never received any call back. I was told I would have a check at closing that did not happen. Apparently the closing company does not do that. I was told the money would be wired into my bank account on Monday 10/2819. That did not happen. The bills that were to be paid directly from my refinancing have not been paid. I was told they would be wired the money. Now I am told the check gets sent here and I have to mail it out. Again bad information was giving to me. It has been a struggle getting any kind of information out of the people handling my refinance especially at the end when the deal was close to done or done.
George, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. If there is anyway I can be of further assistance to you, please send me additional details to [email protected]. In the email, please include your loan number and property address. Thank you for reaching out.

Michael was great about explaining what was going to happen. It was simple to sign original documents electronically. Since Freedom Mortgage has all of my documents, it was simple to refinance with them. I didn't have to extend the length of my mortgage. The only complaint - I didn't get copies of my closing documents when I signed and I can't track down the electronic copies.
J
We were refinancing a loan already being serviced by Freedom Mortgage. We were contacted by someone for one document. I realized that the document they were asking for wouldn't be sufficient so I quickly downloaded two items. I was then requested again. I reached out to find that they said they had what they needed. Then I received yet another request for the same documents. Finally we were set up for a closing, just to find out the verbiage was wrong and we have to close again the day after Christmas or the day before (Christmas Eve!). I mentioned several times that we were part of a trust.
Jennifer, it is disappointing to hear your experience was not completely satisfactory. I really do want to help. Would you please send me additional details about what occurred, so I may investigate the issue? Please include your loan number and property address in the email. Appreciate Freedom Mortgage's hard work to ensure I was able to get the best rate during the time of COVID-19. Freedom Mortgage continued to communicate with me, although communication was questionable at times. I am grateful that Freedom Mortgage heard my concerns and addressed each one either immediately or called me back to close the loop which I did not think would happen. So I am very pleased with my new rate as promised and the ability to lower my monthly payment which is a bit more affordable. Thank you so much.

This process has been lackluster at best. I was told the loan details would stay the same as the original loan minus the interest rate (decreased), yet I had to continually submit documentation to different individuals for the Disabled Veteran tax exemption. The first closing date had to be rescheduled after the mobile notary showed up with documents adding the property tax to the monthly payment amount. We called the loan originator who stated he would look in to the tax issue but he never contacted me again. I actually contacted him after 3 weeks only to be told there is nothing he could do. All that time I thought he was working the tax issue. Finally, a different representative called me stating she was now in charge of the loan processing to which I had to email the tax exemption document again. Lastly, yet another representative called to schedule the closing but when asked about the property taxes, it was still listed as this representative had not received the tax exemption form. I kept her on the phone while I emailed her a copy of the tax exemption to which she stated it would be recalculated without the property tax. I asked to be called 72 hours prior to closing to re-verify the details of the Closing Disclosure. This did not happen. The mobile notary called me the morning of the closing and verified the details were accurate on the Closing Disclosure. There were too many representatives involved in the process and communication was severely degraded.

The experience was seamless and quick. I always try to be prepared when submitting any type of documentation and most cases result in the company struggling to keep up with my fast responses. Not Freedom Mortgage. Paperwork was requested and I promptly returned it only for the next round of documents to be requested and this made the process extremely fast and efficient. I am happy to report that my home loan refinance was exactly what I wanted and was processed faster than I expected.

Well, it's not just this refi loan. In general, Freedom Mortgage hasn't really lived up to expectations, at least in my book. To begin with, I don't think this whole "Eagle Eye Program" is all that's its cracked up to be. The program that promises Freedom Mortgage will be in contact with us, the customers, to get you the best rates available as they drop during certain economic downturns which didn't happen. I was the one who actually called you guys, and was denied the best rate. Only to have my wife called later on saying Freedom Mortgage could do it after I had locked on another lender that gave me the 2.75% interest rate I had inquired about. I also didn't like the lack of response time to queries from my Loan Originator John Himmel. I'm still waiting on the amortized breakdown of my loan balance. These documents were not included in my closing file. This was a request I had specifically tasked John prior to starting the closing of my loan. This was because of Freedom Mortgage's lack of attention to detail for the second time now. How is this document not enclosed in the packet? I'm still wondering myself. I have other issues (ethics) to bring up with the actions or lack thereof in dealing with the other competing lender's rep, but I'll save that for another day. Honestly, I'm just not too impressed with how Freedom Mortgage conducts business. Hopefully, it'll get better, but that hasn't been the case as of late.
K
This was the best refi loan process we have ever experienced. From start to finish they were easy to work with, responsive and the process was timely. We had an issue at the end with the closing and the title company but Michael our loan advocate was right on it. A shout out also to Bryan our loan officer. They exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend Freedom Mortgage!

After the initial conversation (with Michael), the communication was no longer important on Freedom Mortgage's end. Even after a huge mistake made on the closing disclosure, it took almost a month to hear from a person, and that was after several calls/emails on our part. Not happy with the customer service displayed. If our loan wasn't already with Freedom Mortgage, and thinking it was nice to stay with the same company, we definitely would have looked elsewhere. Then the closing paperwork, sent to the house was nice, but was redundant and in multiple copies without any explanation of what needed to be answered or if we were signing with blanks on the documents. An uneasy situation. I would never recommend your company to a friend.
L
I was very surprised to learn that Freedom Mortgage was willing to offer me the 2.75% fixed rate as a no-cash-out refinance, when the other lender I had considered going to offered me that rate, but didn't lock it so when it came time to sign, they wanted me to take a 4.1% rate. Then, Freedom Mortgage just offered it to me from their retention dept. and I was so grateful!
J
We had so many issues on freedom mortgages end!! So disappointed with the quality of this company. It took us contacting the escalation department and upper management for things to get cleared up! I do want to say a big thank you to the escalation department! Because of the people involved we were able to sign closing documents (for the second time mind you). We still have yet to hear from freedom after signing though (almost a month has passed). This happened the last time we signed!!! After the first signing, we were told not to pay for 2 months, so we didn't. Freedom tried to claim that we never signed! We have documents to prove we did! Because of freedom dropping the ball and not finishing closing, it caused multiple dings on our credit and us having to fight to take them off.
Jessica, I am sorry to hear about your experience with Customer Care. Please email me directly at [email protected] with your loan number and property address and the issue you are having, and I will have it reviewed with the appropriate supervisor.

I was not aware of these savings until Freedom Mortgage mailed me the info. When I contacted freedom Mortgage I spoke with Brandon Lazar., who patiently explained the process. After I completed providing the necessary documentation Rich Turner contacted me and guided me through the loan till closing. I have been impressed from start to finish with the time and professional conduct of all the personnel that made this happen.

This isn't our first mortgage with you guys. However, it was the first time I felt communication was severely lacking. From the point of first contact about refinancing, it was a very long time before I heard from anyone again. It was long enough for me to think that the refinancing wasn't happening at all. When there was communication, I spoke to several different people. Just wasn't smooth....missed out on being able to skip two payments because of lack of communication.

Freedom mortgage always took the time to inform us about how good our credit was with them. It definitely helped then letting us know that we can refinance on loan. Hopefully every 12 months until we're happy with our monthly payments. My wife and I are very happy with freedom mortgage and look forward to doing more and more business with that team.
Frank, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Our processor was amazing and the only thing that kept us with you all. Bravo Vernice. Our loan officer was less than responsive. Failed to provide appropriate or adequate follow up. I had to call five times to get a loan disclosure on closing day which I should not have had to do. Overall I was happy with my rate but the process of it all was less than enjoyable
K
During the beginning of the refinancing process I told my representative that I was in chapter 13 bankruptcy. The representative told me that the bankruptcy would not be a problem due to there would be no credit check and that this process was just to lower my interest rate. The problem that I continued to have was that the representative kept saying that I was behind on two payments but looking at my mortgage statement, I was current. I couldn’t move through the refinancing process because the mortgage processor could not see when my latest payments had been made.. This action made it very difficult to move forward in the refinancing process. I feel as if this simple problem could have been resolved a lot quicker if both sides could have communicated better !!!! I will say that Cindy Masters, was a Great help in keeping me informed with everything that was going on !!! Because up to that point I was ready to just say forget the whole thing!!! I give Cindy Masters a (5)!!!

On the afternoon of my January closing the notary service agent called me to let me know that the closing was cancelled, no one from Freedom Mortgage or Inspire called, text, or emailed to warn or notify us of the cancellation. In the days following that cancelled closing no one from Freedom or Inspire called regarding my closing or to provide any information on the closing status, but they sure called when my mortgage wasn't paid by the deadline (which was past due because a Freedom Mortg agent told me not to pay it for January since I was to close on the 10th). the next two weeks, I called Freedom four times, I finally was told that we would need to reschedule for the following month. Extremely poor communication and service. During the week leading up to the second closing communication improved and agents reached out to ensure that all my questions were answered. A little to late, I was prepared to go with another lender if I had any other problems.
n
I was set to close on my house at 12 on Monday, which I took the day off from work not knowing how long this would take. 30 minutes before closing time I get a call from freedom mortgage saying that the lady that worked up my loan documents no longer works with the company and that the paperwork has to be redone. I was told I would be contacted later that day to get everything signed. At this point I understand things happen and it’s not really a big deal. 12 o’clock hit and I get a knock on the door, it the notary here to have me sign my loan documents. At this point I’m confused because I just got a call saying that the closing would be pushback because the paperwork is wrong. The notary nor the closing company had any clue about any changes to the documents. We figured this out after we called freedom mortgage again together. Once again freedom mortgage said I would be contacted later in the day to get the document signed. I was never contacted that day, Took the day off from work and basically wasted it waiting around. It’s now been 3 additional days and still have had no calls or emails from freedom mortgage about closing. Very disappointed with communication and the overall experience so far. I literally have no clue what’s going on at this point.

Freedom Mortgage refinance experience was the absolute worst ever. I was rescheduled for my closing four times with five different people calling me in the process. I had to ask for a manager at the end to get my final closing date. This experience was bad from the beginning. I was never told that I was responsible for paying for an appraisal or a termite inspection out of pocket. Then I was told I needed a water test, but then I didn't. If I hadn't questioned it I would have been out of additional funds. I have never experienced so much stress with refinancing in my life and I have been through this at least separate times. I will never recommend this bank to anyone and as soon as I can I will refinance with someone else.

Our loan officer was really nice but the end of the process was unnecessarily stressful and infuriating. Several days before the closing was to occur we signed off on the final closing disclosure. Then I found out the day before closing secondhand from the closing agent that there had been a change to the closing disclosure. I requested the truly final closing disclosure from the loan Officer and after repeated emails he finally emailed me back saying he did not have access to those numbers and the people who had them we’re not responding to him. The hour before my closing appointment I called Freedom Mortgage because I wanted to be fully informed before the appointment. I was told by the person on the phone after waiting through long holds that they could not get me the final numbers and if I insisted on knowing the final numbers before closing they would have to transfer me to someone else. She she treated me with distain because I wasn’t happy with being left in the dark. I have never been so insulted by a supposed professional in my entire life. After I got off the phone with her I was called 10 minutes before my appointment by another representative who had an even worse attitude and demeanor saying he would send me the final closing disclosure. When I open this up, there were errors in my escrow information that I had told my loan officer would likely happen because freedom mortgage currently services my loan and their escrow department is a complete nightmare where no one talks to each other and everyone has a different answer about every question when you call. While at the closing appointment, called my loan officer to point out these errors and he had no answer for why they happened and he knew they could not be fixed at that time because the people who would have to fix it wouldn’t be able to do it in a timely fashion. This is why people need the closing disclosure more than 10 minutes prior to the appointment so it doesn’t waste everyone’s time and stress the situation to the point of madness. I am a real estate attorney who performs home closings for a living. I have done over 3000 transactions and the errors in my transaction I have never encountered. In the end my escrow account is still messed up and I will continue to have to deal with sorting it out which at this point has been a two-year process.

So happy to have been able to refinance with Freedom. Emilee Wilson and Brandyn Lazar were great. We were originally informed there was no credit check, but that was evidently not correct, and our underwriter was switched during the process making closing take a bit longer than we would have liked. But all-in-all, we are very happy! Emilee and Brandyn were so easy to work with.

We were shopping to refinance and had selected another company to go with. We were contacted by Freedom and asked to give them a chance. We went over numbers and received a closing disclosure that had monthly payments at $1,075.02. At closing, the payment was $1,255.00 due to a "typo". Very disappointed in the errors made on the Closing Disclosure and the fact that no one called us to inform us or let us know in advance. The other company that we had originally selected had a lower interest rate and would have been a better deal. We were VERY surprised and let down at the closing table and when we reached out to our Mortgage Originator, Tom, we were told he was unable to help and I was transferred to the closing department. I sat on hold for 17 minutes and no one picked up. We had the notary waiting on us, and she could not wait any longer. I called yesterday and spoke to the Customer Advocates who transferred me to a manager. I was on hold 43 minutes and no one ever answered. I called again and spoke to the Sales Manager, Phillip, who advised he would try to match the interest rate of the other company and would call me back within an hour. When I hadn't heard back I called yesterday evening and was told Phillip was unavailable and I was placed on hold again for over an hour to try and reach another manager. I still have not heard back from him, our 72 hour period is quickly running out and we are extremely dissatisfied with the customer service we have received.

I hesitated for a long time (over a year) to refinance my home at a lower interest rate because going through a closing on a home takes a great deal of time, documents, etc. and I did not want to go through this again. Fortunately, Freedom Mortgage worked directly with my original lender and the process was incredibly quick, easy, and convenient. I am happy I did it. Not only will I save on my interest rate, but my house payment is lower as well. Double bonus.
Hi Paula, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Chet started our process. Originally, he came off helpful and promising, but once we committed he was unresponsive. When confronting him about his lack of response and our displeasure in the process he ignored our emails. The title company contacted my husband about obtaining information, while I was emailed separately stating the process was almost complete; communication was far from lacking. Our closer, Rob, was an independent contractor and was wonderful. Offered to print copies of our IDs, because we were not told we needed any day of closing. Glad the process is done, we were able to save money, would only do it again only because we know what to expect.

Freedom mortgage called and said they could refinance my VA loan at a half percent lower than the already great rate I had. Quoted new balance, fees and mortgage payment to my liking. I got a little uncomfortable when the Closing disclosure came back incorrect, but it was settled by closing. (which occurred at my house)

This time around, this process was terrible! This process took 4 months, when it should've been less than a month. I understand not having all the information needed and having to regroup and collect needed documentation. No one called to talk about the new change that came up and giving us the decision to move forward or cancel the whole process. I liked that, as our mortgage company, you brought up the new refinancing deal. I do not like the limited explanation of why it was taking sooo long! Then, being on the computer, as it the loan goes through the process, to have 4 different points of contact sending emails to take the lead, just brings apprehension this day in age of scammers. You think, is this one real or did someone catch on to a new plan to take advantage of a situation. The fourth person for the company, when asked about why it was taking so long, was able to give enough information to satisfy the thoughts about this transaction. My wife and I have been customers with freedom mortgage for years and this time around, the process has been the worst! NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!
L
I reached out to my loan officer by phone on two occasions with questions. Left messages for a callback. Neither time was I called back. It was only by chance that I called and they were not on the phone with someone else. Also, I believe Freedom Mortgage needs to revisit its policies. In the midst of refinancing, my bank automatically sent a draft for my mortgage payment, which resulted in an overpayment because of the refi. When I called to get it refunded, I was told I had to show proof the payment cleared my bank account. After seven days, any bank draft will have not only cleared the Clearing House, but it will have cleared a bank account. And considering it was a bank draft, the funds would have had to have been IN/AVAILABLE the account in order for the bank to create and send the draft.

Freedom Mortgage made VA streamline refinancing a breeze! They matched and beat all quotes I had with other companies. Every person in the process of the refinancing put at ease with their professionalism and being subject matter experts. They saved me time and money which helped me put money back into my family.
Martin, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

First off, I would like to start on a positive note. I was extremely happy to have been able to lock in a great rate while keeping my fees in check. Freedom was willing to match the rates of Navy Federal, so I was quite ecstatic! However, dramatic pause, I started the process on the 5th of September and didn't sign to close until Valentine's Day!!! Sometimes, I wouldn't hear any updates for a month...If rates were working in my favor I would have dropped my process and used Navy Fed. Thank you for the help and I am sorry for the criticism.
Martin, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review.
S
My loan took 5 months to close. It was difficult to speak with someone on the phone, no one explained anything to me and I still feel ill-informed at the end of this process. The customer service ( or lack thereof ) is definitely disappointing. I would not recommend Freedom Mortgage to anyone.
A
I was pleasantly surprised with how we were continuously informed with the process. I never had to call and find out what we were suppose to do from our end or where our loan was in the process. It was so nice not having something else on my "to do" list for day. I always knew they would contact me, which was a nice change compared to most organizations customer service.
Ashley, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

This is the 2nd home we have owned with a mortgage through Freedom and have always received great service. Even though we were getting letters and advertisements like crazy, we opted to refinance the second/current mortgage through Freedom only because Freedom was looking out for us and they notified us when rates dropped down far enough to be beneficial. We're sure glad they did! Win/win!
Rick, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.
D
We had been offered a rate reduction by many companies but never felt that comfortable with them. When I called Freedom about a problem I was having with my web site I was offered a rate reduction by Brian Embry. He did a great job putting it together, everything went smooth through closing. It's great to keep it in the" Freedom Family".Thank You for your help in a time of need.
S
What I like about Freedom Financial is they know the answers to your questions or put you in touch of someone who can. We have never been left "hanging" to get an answer. As a Veteran, they have always treated us with respect and dignity. The best part of having Freedom Mortgage Company is the assurance they won't "sell" my mortgage to anyone else. What a relieve to know I'm with a stable, reliable Mortgage Company. I don't know if that applies to all their accounts, but it's true for Military Veterans. We are very pleased with this Mortgage Company. Been with them for several years now and Customer Service is the best.
Thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

The beginning was great! Jesse P. Helped me to get my preapproval and let me know of all the documentation I would need. He returned my calls immediately and was very helpful in explained how the rates worked and helped to inform me so I could make a good decision on locking in a rate. I then found a home and got a signed purchase agreement, Jesse called to congratulate me and then transferred me to a loan processor...From there it went downhill fast! She rarely ever returned my calls, and when she did, she would say she still needs documents that I already sent, I would have to walk her through old emails to locate them. When I hadn’t heard from her for a few weeks she would finally call back and say everything is good and we’re just waiting on titling. I set my closing date two months in advance (on Monday 6/24) as I was selling my home and buying my new home on the same date, as were both of my buyers and sellers. Amanda P. finally calls me on the Thursday before closing and tells me they need further documentation from my employer as well as bank statements and that they would try to get closing done by the end of the month. I told her I was selling my home on Monday and there was a chain reaction of people’s lives involved. She apologized that she had to take time off. THEN WHY NOT GIVE MY FILE TO SOMEONE ELSE??? Needless to say me and my family were homeless for 4days. I decided to call Jesse and let him know what was going on and my frustration. Jesse immediately returned my call that evening and said he would pass it on to the supervisors of the underwriting team at Freedom mortgage the next morning. I believe that is when they finally decided to work to get my closing documents in order. I was finally able to close on Thursday the 6/27. I will never understand how a company can just play with people lives and homes like that and just say sorry for the “inconvenience”?! Or how they were able to close on my house in 4days, but could not seem to do it in the first 2months? I never want to go through all the emotional ups and downs and the uncertainty of homelessness, nor would I ever want anyone else to go through that either. Worst experience ever!!! I just wish that Jesse Parish would’ve been able to handle my file through out the entirety!

After repeated attempts to correct paperwork it was still wrong at closing so I did not close. I never received a correct copy of the closing documents prior to closing. Every time they sent me the closing documents the loan amount was higher than I expected. I was bringing money to closing so the loan amount should have been lower. I reached out to Casey, my loan officer, by phone and email but did not received a response. I spoke with several different people at Freedom and Inspire Closing to try and get the paperwork corrected, but it did not happen prior to the closing. The closing is rescheduled but I still have not seen the closing documents yet. So far a bad experience.

With the rates falling I knew now was a good time to act. I went to my personal banker and my credit union to compare the rates I could expect. I had previously received a letter from my current mortgage company and had spoke to them about 9 to 6 months back and they did not seem like they wanted to deal, but I gave them a call and hooked up with the right person and they met my expectations and exceeded them. Thank you Juan Esturain.

In trying to set up a bi-weekly mortgage payment for my newly refinanced mortgage (and a 55 minute wait), I found that my new mortgage account was not in the system. Evelyn was going to help me, promising to call me the next morning. Never happened. Called in again. Got Shaniah (after a 40 minute wait). She was practically no use at all, except that she found a phone number for a direct call to the refinance department. Haven't tried that number yet. I'll wait till I have a couple hours to waste sitting listening to how important I am to Freedom Mortgage.

I was originally going to leave freedom mortgage after a bad experience, but it was the customer service that brought me back and made me walk away from another lender a day away from closing. I originally had my VA loan serviced with Freedom Mortgage, and I remember one day in October after work a Senior Loan Advisor named Brian Hatton contacted me out of nowhere and informed me that Freedom Mortgage was offering lower rates and was going to drop my interest rate from 4% to 3.5% with no cost to me! Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised because I had no idea that the rates had gone down since I had originally financed the loan. This wasn’t something that I was particularly paying attention to on my own, so it was a nice surprise to know that Freedom Mortgage had my best interest in mind and made the effort to reach out to me first with the proposal of dropping my rate. After a few short minutes on the phone with Brian Hatton, he informed me that the process was started to reduce my rate and let me know to contact him if I had any questions. Brian was very friendly and welcoming during the whole interaction, and I felt confident that I was in good hands. Throughout the following weeks I was contacted by other representatives of the Freedom Mortgage lending team that required a few additional pieces of information such as my Title 10 orders in order to obtain a new COE from the VA. I sent them my orders, but the VA was having issues processing my COE, even though they had done so for my property before when I originally had purchased it. I currently have two VA loans and wasn’t surprised that they would be a little difficult in providing a COE, because they have proven difficult in the past when requesting one for my previous home loans. Unfortunately, I was traveling away for work when I was emailed by a Freedom Mortgage associate requesting additional information for the VA in order to obtain the COE, and was unable to get the additional documentation within 10 days of notification, so my loan was canceled and I was informed that I would need to re-apply all over again. This was upsetting to say the least because I was kind of set on getting that lower rate, and wasn’t sure that I would still be able to get that same great rate, so I went onto lendingtree.com and figured I’d input my information to shop around for a similar rate. I also reached out to Brian Hatton through email to inform him of what was going on and express my frustration. Two things happened that day, Brian Hatton reached out to apologize to me for the inconvenience, he explained the 10 day policy is to keep the loans moving forward because they deal with such a high volume and want to ensure that they don’t sit stagnant, he also informed me that he had re-processed the application for the same rate which was great news, but unfortunately by the time he had emailed me I had also been contacted by several other lending companies offering rates as low as 3%. I informed Brian that I appreciated his hard work and dedication to get me to stay but I had already been offered lower rates, so unless he was going to be able to match it or beat it, then I would have to go with the lower rate to save myself money. Brian took this like a true professional, he offered to look at my current offer with LoanDepot and see if he could beat it in order to keep me with Freedom Mortgage. I sent him my loan estimate, and he reviewed it thoroughly, and told me “Honestly Mr. Jimenez, this is a very good deal, and at this time we wouldn’t be able to match it. If I were you, I would take this deal. I wish we could keep you with us, but I don’t want to lie to you and tell you that we can beat it when we can’t”. That spoke volumes to me as a customer.

This process took over three months to complete. My advisers were not upfront about the costs for inspections they did not communicate and timely manner. There were weeks between communication when I had requested a call back. I was promised deadlines that were never met and an interest rate that is higher than all of your competitors and my original loan. I was told I would be granted a certain amount for the loan and I asked where the numbers came from the as I could not get comps. And they said it was posed ok Zillow and fairly accurate. There was a 38k difference! They did not inform me of amount out-of-pocket costs needed it was always last minute. Timeliness from start to finish was unacceptable. I also had to deal with an extremely rude advisor who would email me and not return calls and not read over the paperwork that was received. I would not recommend this mortgage company to any veteran and I am currently looking to find a new mortgage company to try and refinance to a reasonable percentage rate here soon.
Lauren, it is disappointing to hear your experience was unsatisfactory. I really do want to help. Would you please send me additional details about what occurred, so I may investigate the issue? We had a horrible experience with our refinancing. On the day we were supposed to sign our paperwork the notary does not even show up therefore it delayed our closing and we had to end up paying another month's mortgage. Freedom did not want to work with us to try to get it done as soon as possible. The representative didn't even offer any solutions to the problem, basically told us if we didn't like it we could cancel. Horrible customer service! Such a disappointment to have this kind of service.
Lisa, I am sorry to hear that your experience has been so disappointing thus far. I really do want to help. Would you please email me directly with your loan number and property address so I can further investigate your situation? My email address is [email protected]. Thank you.
J
I was shocked we would be able to refinance with no fees! The whole process was so quick and simple. The notary even came to our house to sign the final documents! Thanks, Freedom Mortgage for making this process quick and painless!
Jess, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

Why would a bank or mortgage company offer you lower rates for refinance on a loan that they already hold? I guess because it is good business to do so. It would take a lot for me to switch to another lender now. Freedom Mortgage is almost too good to be true.
W
Brian was very good at representing Freedom Mort. and knew and answered each and every question I posed to him. The complete handling of my loan process went very smoothly and I am grate to you for recommending my refinance at a lower VA rate. Thanks so much.

I received a call from the Freedom Mortgage loan officer in late February that I was approved for refinance of my mortgage. I was told not to make my March payment and the closing of my new mortgage was scheduled for March 16, 2020. I was delayed returning home from work in Las Vegas, NV until March 17, 2020 so I rescheduled my closing until March 23, 2020 when my wife met with the closing service and signed my new mortgage documents. On March 23, 2020, I received notice that since I had not made my March mortgage payment, I had been charged with a late fee. This upset me that my credit report would be affected by this late fee. I called Freedom mortgage and after a 50 minute wait, talked to Erica #16307 and she assured me that this late fee would be credited and that It would not be reported to my credit file. All in all, an upsetting experience.

My experience as a Veteran home buyer has been great. Freedom Mortgage made the process of refinancing to adjust my interest rate simple and without any stress. I am grateful for the professionalism of every personal who assisted me through the process.

When our mortgage was sold to Freedom Mortgage I was really upset, I had never heard of them and wasn’t sure I wanted a mortgage with an unknown company. Boy was I wrong!!! Not only have they been amazing with my loan, but they offered a refinance at a better rate than my broker before! AND they were quick and super easy to work with! They even had my closing company come to me!!! I’m currently looking into refinancing our other properties with them, and my sister is as well! I’ll use Freedom Mortgage for all my mortgage needs!
Danielle, thank you for sharing the positive experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Very Easy process however the closing company's representative was terribly rude in our house haha. I never was given a closing statement prior to his arrival and when I asked if he minded if I glanced it over before hand. He replied with "I do mind I am in a hurry" I told him to leave or let me read it. I was able to look it over and we proceeded to close. Freedom mortgage is great this guy not so much.
Korey, thank you for sharing the experience you had with Freedom Mortgage. Customer satisfaction is our priority and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

The experience went very smooth, except the calls I got asking why I haven't made my payment as if I was avoiding it. I explained I was in the process of a re-fi and the agent said she would make the note. Then I received another call about my payment being missed and today I got a letter I missed my payment. So as I re-fi with one department, who did a great job, I was being harassed by another. Freedom Mortgage needs to figure out how to communicate between departments in situations like this.
Brian, would you please send me additional details about what occurred, so I may investigate the issue? Please include your loan number and property address in the email. My email address is [email protected]. Thank you.

The original agent we spoke with was initially helpful. However we were sent a second contract after we already signed the first one where the numbers where doubled because they were trying to make us pay mortgage insurance that we had already paid into escrow. Once we brought this up we have not heard back from the broker. We refused to sign the new contract based on those numbers. Be sure to read the final contract at closing. They told us and showed us one thing and then came to closing with a total different amount.
Andy, I am sorry to hear about your experience with Customer Care. Please email me directly at [email protected] with your loan number and property address and the issue you are having, and I will have it reviewed with the appropriate supervisor.
J
We were sent multiple disclosure statements during the process of the va Irrrl program and each disclosure was different. When I called about it I was told not to worry and that the final statement would be emailed to me in 48hrs for me to review before the closing date. The closing date came and No final email was sent and the representative showed up with everything printed out for us to sign. First of all our payments went up $150 a month which was wrong and when I tried to call about the mistake I was passed along to different customer service personal who I would have to keep explaining what was going on just to be put on hold time and time again. The representative at my house even tried calling and she had trouble getting a response. After a hour had passed they ended up calling her and telling her they couldn’t complete the closing due to the mistakes and would have to reschedule at a later date. Now we are going on 5 days and I haven’t heard anything from anyone not even the voice messages I left for a callback. We have been paying our mortgage with freedom for a few years and have never had any problems until now. It would of been nice to hear from somebody so they could of answered our questions.

Dane Gill gave us a call a couple weeks ago asking if we’d like to lower our mortgage payment to the newest lowest rate. Of course we said yes! Had Dane not called me, I wouldn’t have known I could save $400 on my mortgage each month. Now we’re planning a nice trip for the family and we hope to continue doing business with Freedom in the years to come. Thanks, Dane Gill and Freedom Mortgage.

The initial contact representative was quite good and answered all my questions. Phone call went through directly without any "phone tree" and I appreciate that. On-line documentation process was smooth and without any issues. Closing work well and the notary/closing representative was also quite good. Closing did have to be done "in person", so with Covid19, that seemed a bit odd but it worked out fine.
J
Freedom Mortgage far exceeds the last mortgage company I experienced. I was so happy Freedom Mortgage Company purchased our mortgage. When I was contacted by Lorenzo Fray I knew right away he knew how to get us a lower interest rate using my VA benefits. I would like to also thank Inspire Closing Service for being on time and answering my questions.

I was impressed with Freedom looking out for rate changes to help us refinance at no cost to us. Because of the volume of refinance transactions they were processing, the responsiveness went down a little, and the communication got a little muddled at times. However, the closing came and went with no hitches. Thank you
Scott, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

I had done it twice with Freedom Mortgage and my personal experience they're a 100% committed to gi the extra mile to guide and advice you to get your loan approved. Overall I give them 10 stars. THANKS to my loan originator and my financial advisor from FM I was able to complete my loan process smoothly not pressured.
d
The folks at Freedom mortgage are the best. From start to finish they were exceptional in performance of their jobs and making sure I understood every single part of the transaction. Fast, painless closing and we even closed a week earlier than expected.
Doug, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

Our Original loan advisor gave us a rate of 3.75. Viewing the online docs to sign we noticed the rate was at 4.0. Not what was quoted. Multiple tries to contact the loan advisor was futile. Finally talked to a manager in which he investigated the issue. Many days passed without hearing from anyone. I had to continue contacting Freedom Mortgage to get a response. The final docs were at the correct percentage. Thanks to that manager who got it all straighten out!
Toto, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review. It is rewarding to hear about the positive experience you have had and to know that we’ve helped you achieve your financial goals.

Everyone I talked to was helpful and kind, however, I was told by two different people on different days that they would send my closing docs for my review before my at home closing. Unfortunately, that never happened and I was never able to see the numbers on paper before the closing date. I also left a message for the individual who first helped me, his supervisor and another random gentleman I was transferred to. I never received a call back to this day and that was over a week ago. When you talked to someone they said the right things and were friendly, but didn’t follow through with what they said they would do.
Calise, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review.

Just a little frustration with scheduling the notary appointment. I made the appointment on the phone and by email, but received emails telling me I need to make the appointment. Like the left hand didn't know what the right was doing, sort of speak. Otherwise the most pleasant and stress free experience I've ever had! Love freedom mortgage! Bravo!!
B
Refinanced my VA loan with a VA IRRL from Freedom. They kept their promises and were much lower ($2000+) in closing costs than two other lenders competing for my business. We closed on time and they stayed in touch every step of the way. Definitely recommend.

No one seemed to know what was going on. My closing date was moved several times due to the scheduling department making my closing in AZ when I live in AZ. The lawyer called me, my loan processer never informed me of this needing to happen, I had a date set with the lawyer, and the notary never showed up. When the notary did come, they were 45 mins late. No one I spoke to at freedom mortgage was able to help with a solid answer, I kept getting passed off to different people, who also could not give an answer on what, who, or when this closing would happen. I was told not to make my October payment, originally I would close the first week of October. I didn't end up closing till the 22nd, then another payment agent from freedom mortgage called me the 23rd to inform me I had late charges and I still needed to make my payment. She informed me it was up to me to make sure my loan switched over and that the notary submitted my signed documents. I have never experienced such vague, unorganized customer service. I appreciate my new loan, and that you value my husband as a veteran, and that you have offered me a lower monthly payment and interest rate while keeping my maturity date the same, but the stress through the process was too much. Thank you for your time.

Your company failed to provide a lawyer in Nov 2019 for my signing after two missed appointments. When I signed they sent a notary. The loan was determined to be invalid. I had to make November and January payments. FM made the December payment. My credit report suffered a loss of 77 points and creditors cut my credit limits in half or to what was owed. FM has not fixed this as they assured me they would. This was a horrible process and I have suffered greatly for it.

Began transaction in fall of 2018, started fine, then, no contact, end of December more contact, then spotty contact, towards end I was told everything fine, and would not pay February and March Mortgage, time came, mortgage taken from account. Then told March and April would not be taken out, March taken out. Was getting calls from New Jersey, and Indiana, both asking different questions about same matter. All staff very courteous, and confused, over handling. There was a long lapse in the process in which I was told must have fallen through the cracks. I ended up calling Indiana Left Hand, New Jersey right hand. I was set up for a Notary to come to my house three times, twice she never showed up. The third time she did show up to close the deal.
Ronald, thanks so much for your Freedom Mortgage review.

I had to call repeatedly to get information, no one called me once I agreed to do the refinance. The Closing loan officer Never showed up nor did he call to either say he was on his way, not coming or ask for directions if he was lost. We called Freedom Mortgage to find out what was going on/where he was and we’re told that they didn’t know anything about our closing and that department (refinance) was closed for the day and that there weren’t any managers that we were able to speak with at all! Extremely poor customer service!
Jeannie, I am sorry to hear about your experience with Customer Care. Please email me directly at [email protected] with your loan number and property address and the issue you are having, and I will have it reviewed with the appropriate supervisor.

Alex Park was great in the beginning. He pretty much had to hound me to get my paperwork done and information gathered. He promptly helped me along in this process. However, during closing, I did not have my bank account information, so I attempted to contact him about how to give someone at Freedom Mortgage my information. I called and possibly left a message. I emailed Alex, RJ Cummings, Kevin Fitzpatrick, and Yareem Ali, all who were involved in helping me, and no one ever responded. I eventually talked to a customer support person who said I would be getting it in the mail, which I did. It was mostly a good process up until the end.
Jason, thank you for sharing your Freedom Mortgage review. We really appreciate your feedback.
J
To be clear, I already had an open account with Freedom Mortgage and wanted to refinance. The rates are not very competitive in comparison with the mailings I receive daily, and it took a month longer than initially quoted. Updates...too busy for updates. I worked WAY too hard to get this reFi...and I still don't feel I got the best rate available to Veterans.
Thank you for reaching out and providing your feedback. I'm truly disappointed you're not completely satisfied with your experience. Our notary was awesome, Other than that communication was poor. Never received up to date closing documents before closing. I realize some things are out of your control. But I can tell you this is my worst experience dealing with refinancing or new mortgages. Really disappointed. Thank goodness the notary was fantastic.

I worked with several people during my loan process. My first advisor was Alex Park. He took his sweet time answering my emails and actually closed my loan account during the process, without telling me. He was horrible to work with. After complaining to his supervisor, Kevin Fitzpatrick, my loan was assigned to Jackie Hughes. Although Kevin was slow to answer questions, he always got back to me either by email or phone. He was able to reopen my loan and when Jackie took over, the process was fantastic. Jackie was on top of everything, answering emails within 30 minutes, sometimes under 10 minutes. She needs a promotion to supervisor. She was your best asset! I had some challenges during the process and between Jackie and Kevin, we worked everything out. We closed on our loan yesterday and I couldn't be happier. Alex Park has no business in this industry. He failed on every aspect of the process.

I like the end result, but it did seem as if we were dealing with multiple people that were not on the same page. We didn't receive documents prior to closing explaining what the new rate of our refi was, but it worked out in the end. Our loan officer was great but, not having a clear picture of who we were working with was a little troubling.
