I went in to apply for a consolidation loan with Brenda Avila sitting in as my loan officer. Whether I get this loan or not is irrelevant as it is mostly due to the situation I put myself in and my own responsibilities or lack of. I was impressed with her passion and sincere desire to help me out and crunch the numbers that would be best for me. She was a breath of fresh air in this environment we now find ourselves in and I would highly recommend her for anyone wishing to get their finances back on track.

Some things they do great, some things they don't. Different employees will tell you completely different things, and then act like you made a dumb decision when you were just following the recommendation of another employee. I think they may have quotas they need to meet and just gave me advice so that they could meet it, even when it wasn't a good choice and actually made things worse. They've given me advice and wrong information for things that have resulted in fees that I've had to pay, even though those were their mistakes and I could prove it. They should really be focusing on training people more, because honestly so many mistakes have happened and I get so worried every time I have to do something there. If you choose to go here, look at all of your receipts and make sure they actually did what you wanted them to.

Worst finance company I've ever delt with. Truly awful crooks. Terrible customer service. They make pavements ridiculously difficult. They've added thousands to note for insurance when collateral was fully insured and proof was sent. Total joke. Avoid these low life idiots at all cost.

OMG! I left a review regarding a negative experience I had at FCCU (Copperfield Branch). Within 24 hours, a senior VP left me a message letting me know that she was researching the matter. Needless to say, I deleted the VM message and didn't think much of it because it had been well over 2 years since this occurrence. Low and behold, the following day, a senior VP level employee [named Velsie Bohan (? Not sure of the spelling of her name)], contacted me. GET THIS!!! The matter was resolved within 48 hours. I informed her that she was heaven sent and asked her where had she been for the past 2.5 years. Lol! She explained the miscommunication. She has access to rights that the in-house representatives doesn't. One click and the matter was easily resolved. I'm so pleased with this lady. She has made me a believer, once again, in FCCU! I've been a member of FCCU for over 20 years and will remain a member thanks to this angel, Velsie Bohan! If you should have any issues with FCCU, I strongly recommend that you contact her for a solution!

Worst customer service I've ever stumbled across. These folks are quick to take your credit application and approve loan but fail at everything else after that. It's time consuming to try and speak to someone that is actually able to solve your issues. They over promise and under deliver! Not worth the headache. Wish I would have gone elsewhere for my vehicle loan. All they ever tell me is, "My supervisor said she will work on it today" EVERY SINGLE TIME I call. This customer service was worthy enough to be my first ever google review. Just HORRIBLE!

Horrible people at this CU. Very condescending and prejiduce. My Dad dad 12 years ago and after that my Mom bought me a car on credit from this bank. I didn't pay my insurance and wrecked it. Bank had collatoral insurance but left 6k balance. My mom had to pay it. I've paid her back since and my credit is over 700. I have 1 car loan though Ally but this CU won't approve me because they didn't like my answer to why I needed 2 cars. None of their business! I make more than enough money and have good credit. Do not use this bank. They hounded us for money right after my Dad passed and they knew it.

The options for trying to pay a bill are trash! The 24-hour service where you speak to some random person is difficult to understand. Then you try and do it yourself, and they charge 5 dollars on top of the loan you are trying to pay on. This institution takes, takes, takes. The only reason I'm with them is because of a new car purchase. Dealerships should warn customers about banks like this one. They are like vultures. How do you charge someone an extra 5 bucks to pay on a loan that is through them? Image the amount of money they are making off people. 5 bucks doesn't sound like much, but if they do that to 1000 people. That's 60 grand a year. They just milked 60 grand from the people they wish to help.

While FCCU does have CDs and savings accounts that pays higher than average interest rates, things are not as rosy as it seems. I have been with FCCU for more than 5 years, but I have started to divest myself from banking here because about a year ago, they started to do the same underhanded things that ordinary banks do. There was an attempt to trick me to accept binding arbitration and waiver my right to going to court which means no matter what kinds of mistakes FCCU makes, I cannot take them to court and MUST accept arbitration. In the letter they sent, way down near the last few lines in tiny print is the option to opted out. If I weren't the kind of person to read EVERYTHING closely, I would had missed it which I bet was what FCCU was hoping for. There are also fees they nickel and dime you to death which were there from day 1 and bad enough, but starting in March 2022 they are even raising those fees and starting charging for other things such as $2 to get just a printed statement (that's $2 per statement). There is even a $2 charge if you call in to make " inquiries and transfers". The letter I received has an entire page of fees in tiny print listing for example: printed account history $5 each, "copies of Items"$25/hour with $25 minimum. All this on top of being pestered to buy life insurance. One would think after 5 attempts to sell life insurance and getting a decline they would stop. Nope. I got letter #12 last month. I don't know what happened a year ago, but the board of directors or whatever you call them either changed or they decided to change their business practices. Too bad for them because I am taking my money and business elsewhere.

Oh I do like First Community Credit Union my mom introduced me to them as a child many years ago and help me to open up an account and now I work for a vendor that they work with. It is in the area and they allow us to open up an account with just $5.I've been a member with them for a very very long time so I am happy and I don't see myself going to another branch location or another bank so yes check out First Community Credit Union. They are very very helpful and they even wanted to give me a loan this year for my car. January 6 2022 Update: today I went into first community credit Union looking to obtain a personal loan to pay off some debt the lady in there whose name was Brenda Avila was very very nice very helpful very down to earth very intelligent very much caring about her customers she went above and beyond I appreciate customer service like that I will definitely go back I really appreciate everything that she done she really really went out of her way to help me and to ensure that I left out being a very very satisfied customer in which I was her customer service was outstanding She told me to shop around and to do what would be best for me She really cares about you as a member You don't see that much these days anymore. Have heard great thing about First Community but never gave them a chance until a week ago. I stopped by to get my truck refinanced and they instantly made me feel welcome.
