I have purchased 8 homes over the years, and this mortgage process experience has been the easiest one that I have had. Mike Lewis and his team are extremely professional, they met deadlines with apparent ease, and are truly knowledgeable about the mortgage process. They were able to guide me through all the “ins and outs” of this process and I found them to be very easy to reach with any questions that I may have had. Ben McAffee just helped me for the second time recently, so I came to write a review on both experiences. The first was to purchase a home several years ago, and the second was a refinance most recently after a change of personal circumstances in life. I have had experiences with other lenders before, but I felt like Ben and his team have always gone above and beyond. The first thing I appreciate is that at no time was I ever burdened with unnecessary requests for additional information that I felt wasn't relevant or needed for the loan. Yes, I was asked for more information or documents, which is very normal during the application of home loans, but it was all relevant and easy to obtain. They also move things along VERY quickly, as long as you are being responsible by doing your part to provide them the information they need to move things along. The second thing I appreciate is the communication during this important time was perfect. Their team always let me know exactly what was going on, responded to my questions and concerns in a timely manner, and made sure I knew what was happening. Third, they have great rates on their loans compared to other financial institutions, and they have always helped me choose the right type of loan for my situation. There are all kinds of different options for home loans, and Ben is knowledgeable about each and every one of them, and helped me choose the best option for me each time. I also appreciate that he does not push you into products you don't need. For instance, he will not push you into a refinance if he does the math and determines it's not the smartest option, even if it means he doesn't do business with you. They truly looked out for my best interest, gave me the best options, and made the entire process as stress-free as possible. I was not paid or asked to write this review, I am simply a happy second-time customer and felt compelled to write an honest review of my experiences with Ben and his team at First Colony Mortgage, and I look forward to doing business again with them in the future for my home loan needs.

We financed through them when we bought our home and then again when we refinanced recently. They were able to save us $400 a month through the refinance! They are very friendly and work hard. They will go the extra step to get you the best options. I trust them. Even when we were thinking about refinancing a couple years ago, they were completely honest when they told us then wasn't the time to refinance based upon the numbers. First off, our Financial Advisor Shaun Russon with First Colony is amazing, thoughtful, considerate, has a great character, but most of all financially intelligent. He stays up with the latest economic trends and changes in order to give the best timing for refinancing or home purchases. I don't just suggest, I urge you to speak with him when considering home options. He is the beginning of the process necessary in making a house a home. He cares on a personal level and treats others with the same dignity, respect, and sincerity that he would want for himself and his family. His company is willing to match or beat pricing options of other big companies and what's best is he is live and in person. He gave me and my family constant updates throughout my home purchase 8 months ago and did so again when were informed to refinance as the market dropped to a much better interest rate. This guy is classy and genuine. I cannot recommend him any higher. My husband has done finances for a living and neither him or I EVER saw or felt him try to pull anything secretively or deceptively just to make a buck. Go check out your options. What's the harm in saving money for the holidays or at any time? Not only that but he took his time to get to know our family. When we closed on our home and even when we refinanced, he gave us a little goodie bag that included stuff for my husband and I, our kids and even something for our cats.
