I first was referred to Corey Schiminski in Spring '20 during the first round of PPP loans. My business was in dire straits but it was all but impossible to get any information regarding PPP loans from my big bank in Minneapolis so I had written off any possibility of help. I heard that Financial Security Bank might have some funding left from a friend who had worked with Corey so I figured I had nothing to lose and reached out. With what seemed like within 10 minutes of sending an email inquiry, Corey had responded and proceeded to guide me through the entire process. To say he was incredibly helpful is a gross understatement. He helped me every step of the way. I remember the first inquiry I sent was on a Friday afternoon. When he replied with all of the information I was extremely happy but also very nervous that by the time I submitted the app the funding would be out. I sent another email with a bunch of questions that Friday afternoon expecting to get a response by EOD Monday and hoping that there would still be funding. To my very pleasant surprise Corey responded that Friday night and would continue answering my questions throughout the weekend. I certainly hope for his sake that he doesn't work that hard every weekend, but I was incredibly appreciative of him being so available that weekend :) Thanks to his help I was able to submit the app by that Sunday night and was able to receive funding. What's more, when it came time to submit a loan forgiveness app he provided the same incredible service and with his help I was able to get the loan forgiven. It's hard to think about where I would be without Corey's help and I am very grateful I was referred to him. This was not just the best banking experience I've ever had, but the best overall customer service I've ever had. I cannot recommend working with Corey enough.

Full disclosure - I've worked only with internet banks for the past 20 years and was convinced doing business with a brick and mortar bank was a thing of the past. I recently worked with Corey Schiminski on a small business loan and to say it was an extremely positive experience isn't doing it justice. I own a small business and needed some extra capital to make some key investments into my business. I asked for advice from another business owner and he suggested I work with a community bank for the SBA loan. Corey was an absolute joy to work with and is one of the most professional people I've done business with. His communication was timely and if I overlooked a detail on the application he was polite in highlighting where I needed to provide additional information. He answered my questions late into the night, after 9pm on most occasions. We closed on the loan this morning and Corey drove to my home for the closing because I have a couple of young children and my wife was at work so there wasn't a way I could meet him. He didn't try to talk me out of coming here, he simply said, "no problem at all." In my opinion that is world class customer service. Can't say enough positive words to encompass the care and thoroughness that this bank provides. I banked with one of the "big" banks here in town for over twenty years before I discovered Financial Security Bank. I can't say how regretful I am that I didn't look into their bank and services years ago. Financial Security Bank is the opposite of everything that there is to dislike about a large bank.
