Financial Center First Credit Union Reviews

This is one of the worst financial institutions I've ever dealt with. They consistently make banking with them difficult, but they are quick to take your money. Customer service is horrible. Rules for this, rules for that, but might not apply this time, etc. A bunch of garbage. I'm moving my accounts elsewhere. The only reason I ever used them was because there was a branch inside the building where I worked. Guess I got what I deserved for being lazy. Convenient location does not equal QUALITY BANKING!

This credit union is the absolute worst. I had the worst experience while attempting to get my car title. So much misinformation was giving at the cost of my time. This has been my most frustrating experience of the year. I do not recommend this credit union.

They completely abandoned Indianapolis and closed all the downtown branches without notice and they provided no directions or information on the closure. They just slapped a closed sign on the door without regard to any of the members who use the bank. I now have to drive 25 minutes to get to a branch and their branch closures have caused the lines to be unbearably long..... I'm currently standing in a line of 20 people. The weight looks to be around 45 minutes to see a teller. I came to close my accounts. Their is clearly an agenda with this company to move to the surrounding counties and abandon downtown and everyone living their. I assume it's due to their lack of diversity amongst leadership and complete disregard to clients living in the city. I'm completely disgusted with how they have handled these closures. After I finally see someone I will be closing my buisness account.

This is a very poor establishment. In many different ways they will leave you hanging. I would not recommend this bank to anyone, unless you enjoy waiting on n hold, using outdated automated AI to do your business. More specifically Mr. Paul Pemberton does not answer the phone, or return calls in a timely manner. Business account……. Doesn’t matter. New card call this number, want to activate it call this number, need to change the pin call this number. Their system does not allow them to do much of anything. Good luck

DO NOT BANK WITH THE INSTITUTION! I’ve had better service at the BMV. The tellers have no interest in making your experience pleasant. Also, don’t expect to go into the physical location to speak with a teller unless you have at least 2 hours to wait in the lobby.

I’ve been with this bank since I was 18. They have been so great to me! Anytime I’ve needed anything they’ve made it so easy and they are so helpful. I needed a loan immediately and we did it over the phone. 30 min later the money was in my checking account. And while they approved my loan they checked to see if they could give me a better interest rate on my car loan and of course they could. So I also refinanced my car with them over the phone and dropped my payment significantly. They are the best!

The other day a charge for $5 came through. I did not realize that my balance was less than that. That's on me, but I can't stop thinking that If that charge had gone through any of my other banks or financial institutions, the attempted charge would have been rejected for insufficient funds, I would have been notified and given the opportunity to fix it. This bank, however, paid the $5 expense and assessed a $35 "Courtesy Pay" fine, also known as an overdraft charge. Banks charged $12.4 billion in overdraft fees in 2020. Overdraft fees cost Americans over six times as much as burglaries each year. I encourage FCFCU to find another way to make a profit.

Their fees are excessive and aggressive. Particularly their overdraft and "courtesy pay" fees. Only bank here if you are rich and there is never a chance of your balance being low, because they will make it lower.

It has been a few years since I've really used FCFCU. I called to close an account, and they were very prompt and helpful. I wanted to come back to the reviews to leave my feedback. I worked with FCFCU as an HR person with a prior employer, and they were always easy to work with, and the employees and I were always able to talk to a person if we wanted to. There was no hassle to do that. I used their newer online chat feature this time, and that was great as well. They meet you where you are and are great to work with. I doubt I'll be back to Indiana, but I wanted to say thanks for being good at what you do.

This company merged with Ball State Federal Credit Union. Our paperwork ended up at their 56th Street address in Indianapolis. Since the merger we have received four letters stating that they have not received evidence of a current declaration page on our vehicle. It is nonsense that they don't have a declaration page because Ball State Federal Credit Union has had a declaration page since we purchased the vehicle in Dec. 2017. They keep threatening to purchase insurance and add $144.00 to our loan. EACH time that I have received a letter I have called their insurance department and gave them our insurance information including our agents name, policy numbers etc etc. Last month we drove to their office in Muncie and talked to the branch manager, while we were there I called our Insurance agent and put the branch manager on the phone with our agent. We were assured that everything was OK. You guessed it, we got another threatening letter today. If this doesn't border on harassment I don't know what does.

    Response from the owner

Randy, I have documented this and passed this along. You should be hearing from us shortly. Thank you!
