Most of the time you hear horror stories about the lenders that you deal with for buying a house. My situation is a little different my lender was amazing and fantastic and then constant communication with me. Jordan answered any and every single question I would post to her and if she wasn't available her team would answer for her. I cannot recommend Jordan and her team at Essex more highly they were in fact the smoothest and easiest part of the entire home buying process.

I honestly cannot wait to get away from this company. It sounds like they are quick to get loans done but once your working with them things take months. Not to mention I’ve been assigned a single point of contact (Grace) who calls once and says she will call back, which is never timely. I often wait weeks before I hear from her again, and she will leave voicemails for me to reach back out to her. When I call to reach her, no one can ever get ahold of her. Really bad communication. I had requested a modification to lower my payment, and they actually keep trying to raise my payment every time I speak to them. They also keep reporting random amounts to the bureaus that fluctuate, and it’s hurting my credit. I’m done!!

The experience we had with Keith at Essex was amazing. He went into amazing detail to help us understand what we could afford and why buying a house was the right thing to do. Keith had all kinds of spreadsheets to help us understand the true cost of buying a property and how how profitable it could be once we rented it out. Keith personally called all the sellers we made offered on to explain our closing times and ended up making the buying process easy. In the end we got an amazing Duplex.

We just finished refinancing our home with Chris Collins working through Essex Mortgage. Chris is an energetic person who is very easy to work with. He always explained answers to all of my questions in a clear and concise manner. He also would get back to me very quickly when I called him. He took his time to explain each step and made the refinancing very simple. I always felt like he was looking out for us to get the best possible deal we could make. I would highly recommend Chris Collins to anyone considering to refinance. We love him!

It took nearly 2 months for a simple streamline refinance. Kept asking for documents and telling me that they were needed to close the refinancing. Asked about important documents one month into the deal to verify my eligibility for USDA loan. Finally on closing day stuck a complete different disclosure agreement that I didn't sign and unaware of with $2300 due at signing and conventional loan instead of USDA.

Bob did a great job pre-approving me with a great interest rate! the underwriting team was phenomenal in completing the loan process. given I had a short escrow, Essex mortgage stepped up to the task and tackled it. This is my first home mortgage 2nd time calling in regarding a bill I recieved which should've been taken care of by Essex. They were sent an invoice for my property tax fee months ago and yet I recieved an invoice the first week of November because my mortgage company hadn't sent the payment as of yet. I let that issue go as I was informed payment would be going out soon. Now I recieved yet another letter this time from my insurance company stating my insurance is lapsed due to no payment recieved. The insurance company sent the invoice out to Essex 2 months in advance for my property policy renewal. My insurance was canceled because Essex never paid it. Yet Essex has on file that they do not have information on my insurance. Today I also found out that though my loan was established since December of 2020, it was not until Oct of 2021 that they found an error in which showed my account not having an escrow. However for 11 months now, I've recieved a monthly statement showing an escrow payment and balance. And they've recieve monthly on time payments that included insurance and property tax. As of today I was told payment for my property insurance policy was sent 5 days ago, (already 10 days late). Its too soon to do a check trace and so will just have to wait it out with a canceled insurance policy till end of week or next week to have proof that payment was made and get my insurance reinstated with no lapse due to the grace period my insurance company so graciously provides. All of this to say. I didn't expect to have to check up on my mortgage company to ensure everything is on track during the busy holiday season. I expected to trust that all would go according to the terms agreed upon. I give it a 3 star because their representatives are very friendly and helpful otherwise. And, are not to be blamed for what other internal departments actually messed up.

I've had the pleasure of working with Tom Queen recently for the purchase of my home. I have probably purchased or refinanced a home about 10 times during my lifetime. My insurance is paid through Escrow. My homeowners insurance never got paid and is now cancelled. Called last week..nothing has been done. Beyond upset. I’d give them -10 stars if I could . And I’ve only had them for 2 months

The customer service at this company is absolutely horrendous. If you have questions or concerns about your loan in any fashion, you get sent around to multiple departments where people are not available. When you leave a message they do not get back to you. The only reason they did not get one star is because their loan payment interface is decent.
