eCO Credit Union 4th Pl, Alabaster

After the treatment I’ve received after trying to deposit a check under 5000 I will no longer bank with eco. Sadly, I’ve been a customer over 10yrs and this location does not value their customers. The manager Ana verified our check and said it would be released only to notice our check was never released. I called and spoke with her and she’s telling me the hold will remain because she will not be held responsible if something happen to this check. I have no history of return checks and have a great track record and have gave them plenty of business. I always had a great experience in hoover with jennifer who no longer work for this company. It saddens me that after 10yrs of being a loyal customer they still don’t value my business. I work in banking and familiar with regulations. These people want to put our check on a 5 day hold when it should have no hold or a 2 business day hold of anything. This hold is at their discretion which is very unacceptable being that my history should speak for me. We are in a pandemic with bills and all they can do is say I’m sorry. We are trying to deposit funds in our account for bills we have to pay instead we are told our money will be on hold so they can try to collect fees. This process has been a nightmare. However soon as this check clears I will be taking my business else where. I do not recommend this institution the people who cared left a long time ago now they just have non empathetic robots as employees.Their practices are so old and outdated I should have been departed but this takes the cake. Again I do not recommend and will be shopping around for a new banking institution.

Anna is very kind and accommodating. She has helped us several times and has been great. Our interactions with the rest of the staff have been very pleasant as well.

I am a small business owner and an educator in Birmingham, AL. I recently visited the Alabaster, AL branch of eCO credit union to cash a check written to me by a friend of mine for shirts that I printed for her. I do not have an account with eCO but I was thinking of opening one. Now I most certainly will not be opening one with this company and I will inform all of my educator friends of my experience. Nicole was the teller at this branch and after I presented her with the check she picked up the phone and called my friend Amber to make sure she had written the check to me before she would cashed it. I completely understand scanning my license but I was COMPLETELY offended by her doing this in my presence. She advised Amber that this was a new policy for non-members trying to cash a check. I could tell by Nicole's response that Amber was dumbfounded just as I was because Nicole continued to insist that this is a new policy. I am an African American female about 110 pounds and I am often mistaken for a person in their early 20s but I am 35 years old and I feel that if this is a policy it is absolutely atrocious. To stand in someone's face to verify that they're not fraudulently attempting to cash a check. I was completely insulted and I will send an email straight to corporate to complain about the lack of professionalism displayed at this branch of eCO. This was absolutely appauling!

I've used financial institutions across the country and the spectrum. eCO is my favorite.
