Deseret First Credit Union N 500 W, Bountiful

I recently made a review on this bank (not a very nice one) and though all these fees and lack of communication have happened in the past. I have noticed that they have reached out and really tried to help my husband and I. I appreciate anyone involved in trying to make our experience better.

I had called in a few weeks ago to get a quote on an auto loan. They quoted me a lower interest rate, however, the monthly rate was the same as another institution that would charge me a higher percentage. When I asked a third institution, that had the similar quote to Deseret, why the interest was lower but the monthly payment would be higher they said it was due to disability/death insurance and GAP insurance. So apparently that is what Deseret Credit is doing also. Furthermore, I went in to Deseret Credit today before I went to the third institution, that I just talked about, and I sat down on one of their couches. I was there over five minutes and in those five minutes I watched the tellers being busy. However, I saw one guy just sitting in his office looking bored, and he kept looking out at me but then he would go back to playing on the computer. The other lady was playing in her desk. There was only one lady in an office that was busy on the phone. I even saw and heard another employee approach the lady that was playing in her desk and tell her about some problem about her car in the parking lot. She had time to immediately run out to take care of it. However, when she came back in she didn't even pay attention to me sitting there. I did finally approach a teller and she said that she would contact the two people that could help me and they would help as soon as they were available. However, I saw two people that were available and they were not offering to help. So I decided that I did not want to place myself in their lackluster hands to trust that they would do quality work on my auto loan that would lock me into 4 or 5 yrs of payments.

I just got a credit card set up there today. Julia answered all my questions and was super friendly, kind and personable. It was a great experience.

Everyone i've worked with here has been very helpful! There is always someone available to help answer my questions, they've made everything super easy!

I've had an account at this credit union for over 35 years. They've always been very helpful inside the branch, the loans I have had always had great rates, and they have enough people working at a time that you never have to wait a long time to get service. Highly recommend.

Initially I called Jeremy@DFCU and he walked me through what I needed to do to generate an auto loan with them rather than through the dealer since I could get a better rate this way. Per his instructions, everything went smoothly. We walked in with the vehicle purchase form from the dealer. Jeremy's backup loan officer (it was a Saturday) verified everything on it. He got our information and credit verified and we were out the door in about 20 minutes with everything for the dealer. With a little pre-planning on our part, it was pretty seamless. Thank you.

I've been a member for over 30 years at the Bountiful location, I've always been treated well and have loved the service they provide. When they have helped me with financing vehicles they have always had great rates. They are a great Credit Union.

Margaret, the Branch manager, has been wonderful today in helping my daughter with her gap insurance claim and replacing her total loss vehicle. The agent who normally processes the gap claims doesn't return calls, so frustrating.
