I have left several messages with the local area office, noone ever answers nor calls back. When calling the corporate number you can get an actual human but beware you will receive completely conflicting information from different representatives and good luck getting a supervisor, they will just hang up in your face straight away. Horrible service. Mortgage sold from one bad lender to another smh. Guess it's refi time!

I recently tried to start the loan process and made a appointment with Jake Schaner. We were early to our appointment but could not get in touch with him. We called the main office twice and she said he was going to get in touch with us as soon as he was ready. After nearly a hour we called one more time and she said he would contact us in a few minutes. 3 hours after our appointment time we never got a call. We still have not heard anything from him and will never be using him in the future. Very unprofessional.

We were working with a different company to start and they were not very efficient. When we contacted Cornerstone and dealt with Stuart Lagerson he was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable, and efficient. He kept my husband and I up to date on the progress on the loan and informed us of exactly what they needed to process and complete. The whole team at Cornerstone was very friendly and professional throughout this process.

My wife and I searched for months and put in several offers that were not accepted but Cornerstone was there every step of the way treating every offer and quote as if it was the one! Amazing help and guidance from Joe Garcia all through the loan process. Had a last minute family emergency, and leave the country at the time of closing. Joe guided me to give power of attorney to my family member and proceed with the closing. Being last minute, several documentations has to be re-prepared and sent to title company. Joe was very much accommodative in spite of an increased work in his side. You know the best side of a person only during tough times, I have experienced that. Very disorganized and cramming for more requirements toward the end after 3 attempts of house closing. Telling me the underwriter assigned to me was “ very strict and picky!” This could have been handled differently and efficiently so the experience would have been less stressful. I WAS NOT happy at all and not to mention my home rental ( that cost me $1K)for the delay was not even reimbursed even a small portion of it. I DON’T recommend this lending company to my family & friends at all. They were expensive with high points in closing, too. Lessons learned!

Jerome was absolutely the best. We started the process with another builder and changed our minds on that home. Luck us because Jerome's experience and expertise far exceeded the previous lender. Jerome was extremely patient and he was always readily available by both phone and email. He is honest and offered advice when needed and helped us secure a great interest rate. We worked with Josh on a re-fi. Initially he was very helpful and attentive with our loan. Ultimately we went to closing with the closing costs $6-7K more than what we were told. We went to closing again after Cornerstone made the corrects. Also, the first closing was scheduled a day beforehand with very little notice to us. After the corrections we had to return to sign additional paperwork only to find out 3 days later that Fedx ruined the documents. Several days after this we had to re-sign the paperwork once again. (now we are 3 x's in running around for signatures because of Cornestone's mistakes). After conversing with Josh - he blamed the documents for being inaccurate. I agreed and called Cornerstone out for this. Finally after the final signing after the 3 day right to recession our money was not in the bank/funded. After an email inquiring about this there was another email from Josh to underwriting (that we got copied on) stating that we were not nice people and basically that we were sending too many emails about our funds. Really?? Not Cool! Not Professional! We are business professionals and his behavior was very unprofessional, especially since none of this was our fault at all. Cornerstone is Perry Homes mortgager (who also carries a history of bad customer service). I would say find another lender. We've owned and re-financed 8 homes and always had good, professional experiences. Too bad for Cornerstone that this was not the case.

I recently worked and closed my loan with Cornerstone. The process was smooth and my loan sales officer Danelle Rivas was always a call away. I am very happy with the overall process and rates offered.

This is the second time we've gone through Cornerstone. The first time when we built our new home in 2015 and it went very smoothly. Although this was a little more complicated transaction than normal, we're still not real pleased with how it all went. We went well past our rate lock date and I put that squarely on Cornerstone's shoulders. Cornerstone should have known, as ANY lender in this crazy seller's market, that appraisers were inundated with business and time frames were much longer than normal. Two weeks before closing date we still had no appraiser scheduled. Although they said they had contacted appraisers 60 days prior to closing, they had no commitment from one, and as such we had to extend our closing date. It was very stressful and we had to call them regularly to verify that we actually had an appraiser coming. Communication for the last few weeks until closing was only if we initiated it. Don't think we would use them again.

I could not recommend Jerome and his team enough. The cornerstone team are consistent and timely. I hope to work with them again in the future.

When my prior lending company was unable to get a timely appraisal for the purchase of my home I was able to use all of my current paperwork and get a loan approved with cornerstone in a matter of about a week and get an exemption on the appraisal. They were quick, efficient, and super helpful.. Thanks!

The Cornerstone team goes out of their way to make sure that the lending experience is as a smooth as possible. They clearly communicate what’s expected of the homebuyer and continually works to ensure that all of the information required for approval is collected and accurate. Despite my wife and I applying for a loan during one of the busiest times of the year for home buying, the team continuously stayed in touch during the process ensuring we weren’t left wondering what was next. No dropping the ball at any step along the way and usually couple steps ahead of the process to anticipate any issues that might arise, and kept us on track.
