I've been with Congressional Bank for almost a year now, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this company! My husband and I were contacted by a mortgage rep about a VA loan. I told him that I don't think our credit scores are high enough to qualify but thanks for contacting me. He stating that they offered VA loans at starting scores of 550. So we set up a time to call. We spoke on the phone and he ran out credit reports and told us that we were pre-approved. He said he would send us a list of documents to finalize the process. We completed gathering all the documents and sent them the next morning. He stayed in contact until Monday morning, then I heard NOTHING for 2 days. I emailed him, left voicemails, and then emailed his supervisor. Eventually I called the 800 number for customer service. I was informed that he had been fired. Nobody contacted me, nobody replied to my emails, it wasn't until I reached out to them that i was told this. My loan was then transferred to a different rep who called and very rudely explained that we were in fact NOT pre-approved and I should have known better how the process worked. Through my crying I tried to explain to him that i had never done this and we had cancelled a vacation b/c we had thought we were approved. He never apologized until I told him I was not looking for a loan I just wanted him to understand what happened. He said "Well I have been doing this for 13 years I wouldn't have done it that" "Obviously the other guy didn't know what he was doing and that is why he was fired" "I am sorry you feel that way" I understand not being approved, but the way it was handled afterward, was very rude and without any type of remorse. Just extremely disappointed and honestly shocked with this whole experience. I just want others to be aware of what happened to me and my family so it doesn't happen to anyone else

Omg got a pre approval om a home loan 4 approximately 7 weeks we did everything asked of us home inspection appraisal got credit score up like they asked us to do went to a hotel 3 days prior to moving into our home the weekend of supposed to move in we were told we never got a pre approval we were deviststed had to stay in hotel for 11 days we had no clothes food toys for our twin girls and bank manager replied to me when I mentioned we were homeless his words were well you better find different living arrangements. ?...I was and still livid we were litterally broke and homeless

They do not have staff who speak Spanish at the banko, I call to ask some questions about a letter they send me and they do not have staff who speak Spanish. So why contact me.
