If you’re a first time home buyer, I strongly recommend Mary and team. The education she provided, the hand holding, confidence etc.. has made this process much better than I know it could have gone. If you’re looking for guidance and a person to trust, I think Compass Mortgage is likely the right place for you. Also: to all you new home buyers, stop trying to impress people. Buy what you can actually afford.

I worked with Dan Crum and Megan Mcbean from Compass Mortgage to secure my loan. It was an excellent experience and they are both very professional and knowledgable about the process. I had a great experience with Jim Galas at Compass Mortgage. He was thorough and very helpful with the whole process. We were able to secure a very solid mortgage and he worked to get me into an ideal situation for success. Compass had an online portal that i could upload documents into for security and ease of access. The videos were helpful and also the communication back and forth was very great. I would recommend them for anyone buying or refinancing as i had a good experience.

Working on the mortgage loan with the Compass Mortgage is over the expectations. Compass Mortgage has a great reputation and recommended by many people and friends. From first day of process, the senior loan officer Mary Glavin was super helpful and explained the required documents and the expected fees; further, she was very accurate to calculate the expected total mortgage monthly payment that matched the actual payment at closing date. Mary helped to negotiate and get the best interest rate that was lower than the expected; in addition, organize the cost date at closing accurately. Simply, the process was incredibly smooth from start to finish and we were ready to close earlier than the closing date. Juan Pablo Berruti, could not have made the home buying process any easier! He was recommended to us by a friend, and we worked closely and effortlessly with him throughout the buying process. They helped clarify and make the transition from out of state to Illinois so simple and helped provide a wonderful home for me to start my next chapter in life. Skip Brown helped us through the process and he was so nice and prompt with calling or emailing us back. He did a great job of getting back to me in the same way I contacted him, which was great. If I emailed him, he emailed me back. If I called he called me back. When I text he would text me back. The response in the way that I contacted him was awesome and I didn't realize how much I liked it until after it happened!

There were a few times i had my doubts, but I will give them 5 stars cause the Compass Mtg team did come through. A little more clarity would have put me at ease through the process. I must say Caleb and Lisa were attentive to me. They answered my calls and text, they never left me hanging. They were patient with me as i was with them. They provided great follow up, during the process. In the end Lisa did daily follow calls and text the last few days before closing, so I appreciate the care they provided. I would definitely use them again.

Josh, one of Compass’s loan officers, went out of his way to berate my fiancé, for not going with Compass, (this was not by our choice) all because our realtor recommended it because our market in IN is so competitive, we were losing on offers because our lender wasn’t local. My fiancé reiterated this to Josh that going with a local lender might be the route we have to go, even though we were appreciative of his help thus far, and wanted him to know as a courtesy. My fiancé and I finally landed on the house of our dreams and our offer was accepted with a local lender who was splitting the difference in the recent interest rate hike, so it was a no brainer to go with this lender, not to mention, it would put us at a higher chance of the offer being accepted in the first place. Rather the accepting what he knew was already coming, Josh called up my fiancé and was extremely unprofessional, rude, and said some nasty comments saying that if we “ever needed help, don’t ever call me again”. Pretty awful that this is how Compass treats veterans. True colors show when this company doesn’t get their way. Apparently they take everything personally, and then personally attack you. If you’re looking for a lender that treats people with respect and class, this isn’t it.

Jim was excellent in helping me in mortgage application and ensuring a smooth closing process. I called at least 4 different banks and brokers, his rate was the lowest one. You can always ask him to match the rate you got from others.

Keith without a doubt is the best loan officer anyone could ask for. He spent a large amount of time with me on the phone during the entire process and explained everything to me in detail. He was able to get me amazing rates when my first loan officer failed to do so. My closing officer and lawyer stated they have never seen such an amazingly low interest rate! We just refinanced our mortgage with Compass Mortgage and loan originator Jeff Kincaid. Our experience was about as perfect as it could get. Jeff walked us through every step of the process with quick and complete answers to all of our questions. We never had to leave our home. The rate we got was excellent and closing costs were the same as any other lender with far superior service throughout the process. We have already recommended Jeff Kincaid to a friend for refinancing and we will continue to do so.
