My card was put on hold when my wife tried to use it to send her sister in France money for her birthday. They didn't call me or anything. I had to find out at checkout at the grocery store. I called them, they answered in 2 minutes, told me I had a hold on my card, then put me on hold for 30 MINTUTES. After 15 embarrassing and anxious minutes I left the store and my cart full of groceries and drove home in time to wait another 10 minutes on hold. Finally I got through to someone who clearly had English as their second language and they were able to release my card. Utterly terrible customer service.

Poorly managed ! Commerce website noted that all of their lobbies are open during their normal business hours! I went to the St Ann location to see a personal banker only to find that the lobby was closed at 1:00 pm . The doors were locked with people sitting in the lobby. A security guard who couldn’t understand English was sitting in the lobby of the doorway. After repeating myself several times about why I was there, he told me that everything was being handled through the drive through. When I get to the drive through lane window and explain what was needed, I was redirected again by the teller and was told that she could take care of my paperwork, but I had to go through the commercial lane, which was full of cars waiting. By then, I was frustrated, so I just left. There should’ve been better communication and a better system in place if there was something that resulted in the lobby having to be closed.

I'm not sure about the previous reviews but my experience with the bank has been consistent. I always have a small wait time or no wait time to deposit as I avoid the busy hours of course. The staff and management know my name fairly well and I feel welcomed here. Unfortunately I don't have any sort of overdraft protection and I believe I'm getting a fee for automatic deposit to savings. This bank has been giving me and my family great treatment and I hope we continue to have good business

Not just this commerce bank, but most of them I have dealt with in the St. Louis area are the slowest banks in drive through and at the counter. Also, they have more fees and BS rules and parameters to stay in than any bank I have ever dealt with. They are not helpful at all with small business loans or personal loans/lines of credit. They offer no overdraft protection in the way of attaching another of your accounts to your checking account to cover things. They will find anything and everything to charge you for. Even though I had an automatic deposit going in to my account today they closed my access to my account because it hit a zero balance. It only hit a zero balance because they took out my $8 fee before the deposit.

What a joke commerence bank continues to be. I closed my account six months ago due to poor customer service throughout the area.. However my employer uses this bank. I was rushed for time due to a flight so I cashed my (commerence bank) payroll check. Not only did they take forever... Which is already to be expected. Now they charge for cashing a check issued by their own customer. I say avoid this place if you can. Have a good day.

I deposited money into that ATM, and it was suppose to be available next business day, however it was not. when i went up to the st. ann branch for whatever reason I was not allowed in, even though other locations allow people into the bank. the manger didn't release the hold on my account and then closed my account after i said i wanted to file a complaint. I been banking with them for two years now, and the first time i make a complaint my account is closed. needless to say, i will never go back to them. Ever! good luck to anyone who banks with commerce. update: due to the manger closing my account everything that was pending didnt get paid, it took away my pending cash deposits, and on top of all that my money disappeared. i had to go to another branch to resolve this matter and it took 2 hours. i urge anyone who see this review to please think twice about having commerce bank handle your money.

I've been using this specific branch for over 2 years. My current employer doesn't direct deposit, so I deposit my checks directly at the teller. Today was my first day dealing with a mishap, after I noticed that my last deposit was put into someone else's account. I came in, sat down with a rep and showed them my receipt. Within 20 minutes, the rep had opened a case for my missing deposit, photo-copied the receipt and my license, and had given me a letter with all of the information I needed regarding my case. Within 30 minutes of leaving the bank, the missing deposit was in my pending transactions! The tellers have always been friendly, and get me in and out as quickly as possible. Do try to ignore the low star reviews, as I've never encountered such issues myself or seen others in those situations. Give it a try and see for yourself. I hope my review may change a few minds.

This review is for Demond at the St Ann branch. He is such a personable sweet person who always always goes the extra mile for my 90 year old parents. He doesn't do this for the job...he's just that way. Case and point, when my father passed away recently, he came to the funeral to say goodbye.

I was harrased about the employes speculation at what they thought someone else was doing. The general manager jason galvin told me he was there 3 years i said ive been banking there 15 years he said and i quote. "I dont care" i drove back around and said i want to close out my account and i would be calling corporate. Gm Jason said come in side. When i came in he contenued to harass me about above mentioned. When i started to tell him this was horrible representation and i was going to call corprate he told me if i started yelling he would call the police. (He brought me in after 5 when the inside was closed to the public and i wasnt yelling ) i said call the police. He said ok and picked up the phone. I said good because i was going to call them myself because of this harrasment. So he hung up the phone told me to get out of his bank and he would mail me a check for my account closing. Thus denying me my money and tying it up by mail! Mean while the people working the driveway were finding humor in this and smilling and laughing! This branch has fallen in the last couple of years and is a joke! What happened to everyone that worked here! We had relationship with me banking there for so long and comming in. They all have been replaced?Or they left? Everyone of them that i can see and the people there now are inconsiderate and rude! Horrible horrible and that gm told me he dont care how long ive banked there? In fact he threatened to close my account so i knew it was time to leave. Then he denied me my money and said he would mail it because i was going to call corporate and the police because of them harassing me about something they thought someone else was doing.I should have stayed called the police and got my money!

In General worst banking experience with Commerce Bank. Staff helps on occasion when they can, yet hindered by Corporate Business practice. Commerce is locked into profits and not to the consumer. If you deposit checks, then the money should be available immediately in today's fast paced society. Making a consumer wait is for more than 100$ is Asinine!
