Citizens Bank Putnam St, Winthrop

Walked in to deposit $700 in cash. Line out the door, manager of the branch sitting in her office with the lights off. Decided to use the ATM, which proceeds to eat my $700 cash deposit. Get back in line to wait to speak to an agent (Teresa-who was very nice and apologetic about the wait and my situation). They said it was a fault of the machine and there was nothing they could do about it. Manager shooed me off as if there was nothing wrong. I live in a very small town. Without my knowledge, a person that was in line behind me, ended up writing about the interaction on an online forum. The comments from the towns members make it seem like this is an ongoing issue with the management and the ATM…. Why is the ATM still available if it is constantly malfunctioning?

Have never had a problem here and have been going for over 10 years. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Edit 5/31/22: Taking off a star for the following reasons: 1-The vestibule with the ATM machine is beyond hot. It's sweltering and extremely uncomfortable. 2-The ATM machine in said vestibule is frequently out of service. 3-I see a high turnover of people, good people and excellent employees, because Citizens does not do enough to retain their employees. Give these people raises. These three things make Citizens appear very cheap and not empathetic at all to customer's need for comfort and dependability.

Called four times in a row during hours of operation and was I repeatedly ignored. One time a representative answered the phone put it down and just left it there... slimey.

First impression on the employees none of them professional, went there to open a new account the invitation says “come in to your nearest branch” and they said you need appointment the second thing while I’m waiting for my turn they give Priority to other person behind me to open new account as well, never go there again.

Staff lame Worth CustomerService you can possibly get!

It was after reviewing my online account information and finding transactions I had not made I called my local branch here in Winthrop. I spoke with Stacey Brevo by telephone explaining what I noticed and Stacy suggested come right in and freeze both debit cards and get new debit cards assigned. I am saying at that point it was the last thing I really wanted to have to go through. In saying that I figure it was going to be a long and never ending situation. I went down to the branch was assisted right away by Stacy and what I anticipated being a long and a bit of a hassle turned out to be a quick and painless process. Stacy assistance from start to finish I was shocked how quickly it took in getting my new debit cards and how the overall experience went. I was so thankful for Stacy. This branch is always such a wonderful place to visit when not being able to handle business online or at the ATM. The entire staff especially Stacy was outstanding.

Midday on a Friday with 4 employees and all they are able to do is take deposits.

The worst place I have ever been. Staff need some training . customer service is bad

Either unable or unwilling to help with basic banking tasks.
