I have to say the current dentist I’ve seen most recently here at CIFD has been professional, welcoming, detail oriented,.. He made me feel comfortable and offered open communication right away by letting me know that I can contact him directly with any concerns. Which has been a very positive experience compared to other dentists I’ve seen before. The office staff has been great as far as scheduling appointments, following up with reminders of upcoming needed care, always professional and courteous. They’re actually very patient with me even though I tend to miss, cancel, and reschedule often. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the dental treatment and care I’ve received here. I recommend. (My grandmother actually sent me here a few years ago before she passed away. She received her dental care here and spoke very highly of her dentist.)

During visit arrived at 10 minutes past my appointment they asked a for a late fee and was charged. Finally was took in at 2:50 and they had assisted me to just numb for a fills and currently turned 4:15 and the dentist is still going around walking around acting like they have something to do. Numbed me about a hour ago. While the dentist plays dumb acting like they're doing their job. Dentist casually walks back into the room at 4:30 on the cellphone. Never was assisted on time the fact that my numbing is practically away already making the sensation unacceptable. Would not recommend if in a hurry or if you wish to be fulfilled on your expected needs. Only if the dentist office would allow the actual reviews on their main page, but they wouldn’t receive any business with such low star rating they have on other apps

I've always hated the dentist especially when it came to cavity fillings. My 2 experiences here have been nothing but great! The 2 Dr's who performed my fillings were quick and careful. I literally felt like I was out of there in 5 minutes. Made my experience an awesome one coming here.

WOW, excellent customer service, started with my phone call asking for a same day new patient appointment, & continued through to the check in staff, assistants, & dentist! We are still in this pandemic, so I don't like to be outside very long, I filled in all my intake forms online at home, and when I checked in at office they let me stay in my car, & texted me forms that I had to initial. Then called me when it was my time. If you get a chance, switch your dental needs to here. You won't regret it!

I went into this office under recommendation and they couldn’t of been better of a recommendation!! Dr. was very patient with me and gave me quality time to really weigh pros and cons of my dental plan for a very sensitive situation. I was very stressed and worried; but leaving the office I felt confident and secure in our decision with my teeth moving forward. I am a professional athlete and Dr. Gustavo really put himself in my shoes on how urgent the matter was. If I could choose one dentist in world; it would be him! The rest of the staff was friendly and thorough... with a beautiful clean office.

Coming to Channel Island Family Dental has been such a positive experience. I used to dread going to the dentist, but not anymore. The Dentist and staff are very professional, they don't hurry to answer any question or concerns we might have. I definitely recommend going there.

I called this dental office to set up an appointment and explained that my wisdom teeth were coming in. I explained that it was already popping out and that I wanted to set an appointment to get them extracted. They explained to me I would first need a consultation and then an X-ray to move forward. I asked specifically how we would move forward after the appointment and they let me know that I would then set an appointment with a specialist to move forward and on pricing. I was paying out of pocket because my insurance does not cover dental. I went in for the consultation and the staff was not friendly at all. They didn’t explain anything to me at all until I talked to the Doctor. He was friendly and gave me a brief explanation about what I needed done. Talking to him took about 10 mins of the whole hour and a half I was sitting there. He did not explain at all to me what were two medications he prescribed but I was guessing pain killers and antibiotics. After it was done, I asked them when could I set up the appointment for the extractions and they gave me a referral to another office. I was upset because they explained to me I would have to get another X-ray done, pay another $100 and then they would schedule an appointment with an actual specialist who would take them out. This is absolute robbery. Why would I pay for another consultation and X-ray when I just got one? I came in knowing what my problem was and they explained to me over the phone that they had staff on site for it and did not. I am just looking to get my wisdom teeth out. After making the call to this other referral office they said they would not take me in until two weeks from now and that they can keep prescribing pain medication for me in the meantime. I explained to them that I already am taking medication and I am still in pain. Also, I don’t want to keep taking pain medication since it makes me drowsy. They just prescribed me a higher dosage. This place was a complete waste of time. Make sure if you make an appointment here that you ask if they have specialists on site on the phone and when you get to their office for what you need so that you don’t waste your money or time.

EXCELLENT SERVICE. EXCELLENT PEOPLE, they take care of me like if I knew them for 10 years+ The ladies are super helpful and make you feel at home while the dentist is super caring and takes the stress off your ease! Definitely my new dentist from now on 5/5 stars ⭐️!

Finally found a dentist I like and trust! They are very thorough here, the OD explained everything he needed to do and why, answered all my questions, addressed and fixed all my concerns, did a deep cleaning and even took care of my smallest concerns like a strange chip in my tooth and they take medi-cal! COVID UPDATE: Carol did my cleaning today and she was extremely thorough, sweet and communicated to me all of the issues she found, what was good, what wasn’t good and what I could work more on and the specific tools I needed. Appreciated her transparency and the dentist office has made changes to protect and keep everyone safe. For cleanings in particular they stopped using the machine that blows all the air around and opt for hand cleaning instead which I feel is more precise. Carol then explained if she needed the bigger tools she would use them but prefers to air on the side of caution and prefers hand cleaning anyway All staff is always very nice and cool as well!

I was hesitant to change dentists after my previous dentist sold their practice. I'm glad I decided to give Channel Islands Family Dental a try. I was more than pleased. Their family-oriented practice, with a friendly, helpful office staff and very qualified dentist far exceeded my expectations.

This place is awesome, Elisa and the entire staff are great. The dentist is super awesome I felt almost no pain, they made me feel so relaxed I almost fell asleep. I totally recommend them. 😄 Oh and I would still give them the same review gift card or not.

I've been coming to this location for over a year but just had to have work done besides cleanings. The staff is always so kind and the dentist pulled 2 teeth with very minimal pain. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that needs quality work done. Every one is so kind from the office ladies, the dental assistants and hygienist and the dentist is amazing.

Omg, where to start. I hadn't been to the dentist in 20 years. Every person, from the receptionist to the dental hygienist to the Dr. we're exceptional!!! All were knowledgeable and performed their jobs with efficiency and professionalism! Courteous and friendly. I will recommend them to all of my family and friends.

I’m an old patient on this clinic and so with the other 4 family members of mine. We have been patients in this clinic since 2014. We moved out of the city of Oxnard on 2018 and decided to come back this Jan. 2020 on this dental clinic because of its good quality care. They have good customer service. The receptionist are so patient and friendly in making appointments. They always make it to a point to accommodate the dates that we are available. The dentist cleans the teeth very well. I would highly recommend this dental facility. More power to Dr. Gustavo and all his staff.

Great with their patients! Always keeping up with teeth cleaning and check ups! definitely somewhere you wanna start going. Did an amazing job on my teeth this time and every other time. Dr is nice and so are the assistants as well as the receptionist.

He said I had 4 cavities, I got a second opinion and guess what? No cavities! Just an old filling needed to be fixed. They’ll drill your teeth for no reason just to bill your insurance. Oh and the people working behind the counter are not professional. The only reason this place has good ratings is because they have a sign saying give us a good review and we’ll give you a $5 gift card.

Friendly and fast service, plus side they are bilingual for all patients' needs.

Receptionists were so rude and arrogant that they did not listen to patient's needs.They made mistakes during my visits but they never admitted. Continuously offer service although I had worst experience at their office. I have to call and email 3 times to deactivate my account. It was convenient location for Military family however all the pain I had to gothrough, We are Not recomemded.

The staff is extremely sweet and everyone was so helpful! Erika at the front desk made sure to verify with my insurance that my visit was covered and went through the hassle of calling them before it was time for my appointment. Dr. Gustavo was very thorough with describing my procedure. He is well educated and informed which made the visit such a pleasure knowing I was in good hands. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

The staff is so incredibly nice and helpful! My kids enjoyed the Dentist very much and he was so incredibly sweet! I scheduled all three of my children's appointments at the same time and they got us in and out!! I highly recommend them!

This dentist has to be one of the best ones there is out there. I've been going to him since I was a little girl and I will continue to go with him because I'm always happy and satisfied after every visit. The staff is very kind and friendly ! Dr. Assatourians is the best dentist there is he is very friendly and he always makes you feel comfortable. Its always a good environment when walking into their office, everyone talks to you with a really good attitude and they make you feel welcomed. They take their time and always try to help you in any way they can. They are beyond a wonderful staff and I couldn't be more happy about going there.

My favorite hygienist Carol clean my teeth today and she did a good job. Gio the best assistant she did a good job might’ve had a little difficulty but she made up for it at the end.

Took my daughter for exam, cleaning and x-rays. She's on medi-cal. She had them done and a small cavity filled. From time we walked in to leaving was about 1 hour. Work was done well. Staff was friendly. Daughter was happy. I recommend this dental service.

It was my first time ever coming to the Channel Islands family dental and it was a good experience. The staff is very kind and helpful. My appointment was at 10:30 and I was out by 11. They are for sure quick on their service and everything was done correctly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a dental service.

I don't have any idea why I should do this since no one's called me. My jaw or tooth still hurts and you want a review already? Let's hope I'm in better shape come morning

First time coming here after a referral from my sister. Staff was very sweet, prompt, and the dental assistants are hilarious! Giovanna is the best! :)

Worse place to take your kids! My daughter had an abscess in her gums and the dentist there did not wanted to look at the site were my daughters was hurting, 3 days later we ended up in the hospital due to a big infection.. Unprofessional from the front to the back. Will NEVER recoment this place.

Awesome place! Welcomed with a genuine smile.The dental hygienist was very kind and walked me through the whole process smoothly. A little hard to spot but it is in a building with other business suites so spot them and look for the 1265. You might have to do a u-turn. depending on which side of Gonzales you are arriving from.

For many years I been going to Chanel Islands Dental Office since the staff and dentist treats me very nice. Every 6 months I go for my appointment the staff welcomes me in. Always asking how I been. I feel very comfortable with the staff and the dentist. I don't see myself going to any other dentist than this one. They attend me in time when I have an appointment. I would recommend someone looking for a great dentist should definitely come here. Once you come here you won't leave to another dentist.

The staff and Dr. Guzman at Channel Islands Family Dental are very helpful and reliable. You can manage to get an appointment quickly. They have always made me feel comfortable and have been willing to work with me. I most definitely recommend this dental office to others and will be a long time patient.

I talked to Jessica, Crystal, Kristina, and Dr. Merat. They were ssso helpful and friendly. Every time I called on the phone they were polite and helped me with my questions. Dr. Merat was very gentle and careful when she worked on my mouth. She explained what she was doing and helped me with any questions I had. She did not try to sell me any dental work I didn’t need. I am happy with their customer hospitality and dental work.

This has been by far the best dentist I've been too . Staff is very friendly and treat their customers very nice. Cindy was very nice and quick at taking my x-rays had no problem with her she really knows how to do her job very well. Will highly recommend this place

Channel Islands family dental is amazing ! The staff is always welcoming as you walk in the door all the way till you leave . I have had bad experiences with dentist offices but never here . Always walk out with a smile on my face . They filled cavities, did cleanings , and much more and I’ve never had any issues if anything they fixed all my problems . I highly recommend this facility .

I have always been nervous when I would visit the dentist but since coming here, it has been easier to recover from that. The dentists (especially the gentleman from my last visit) have been good. The assistants have been very courteous & helpful with any questions I would have. Overall, it has been a good experience so far.

I had a root canal yesterday. The staffs were so friendly and the dentist work was quicker than I expected and no pain!! I always have a good experience there.

I went to an Oxnard family dental with a half blown over plastic sign- it was a hole on the wall. One of the girls in my mouth (just to help the others after multiple very painful failed X-ray attempts) was on her hands and knees in scrubs scraping the bottom of the windows. “D.Aida” must have been hiding somewhere because she popped out of nowhere and that place was.small. I didn’t sign anything until after-the-fact and with a mouth full of white gunk that made it impossible to speak or ask questions. When I finally did, they wouldn’t give me her name. They decided against having me sign digitally after first saying that I would. When D Aida was poking around in there PAIN ASSIDE and it was brutal, she drilled a small hole into the top of an implant I’ve had for over a decade- no problems. This was one year ago. Today, the hole has gotten worse and it’s giving me pain. I went in about a filling that popped out while floasing just one week prior. She had completely ignored it- set me up for appointments for deepl cleanings that id pay at least $100 out of pocket for (mouthwash my insurance wouldn’t cover) and wisdom removal. After they refused to tell me her name, I haven’t gone back to them or any other dentist. The too that had the filling pop out is now giving me pain too, and I’m afraid I’ll run into another fake dentist with this state-mandated poverty care. I’m about to pay out of pocket just to be sure my dentist has their name and face on the internet. -that or die like the beloved polar bear that couldn’t get his teeth cared for.

The staff is very nice and compassionate! The appointment process is quick and easy. Staff follows up with you to ensure you’re able to make it to your appointment. Nothing but positive words for this office!

In the past I had very positive experiences with this place and their staff and Dr. G. However during the pandemic they made or cast an impression for a partial denture that was very poorly made and did not fit. It actually causes me great pain to eat while wearing it so I cannot wear it. Fortunately I kept the old partial. The fact that I was charged a 155.00 co pay for a device that does not fit my mouth properly because the person who did the impression did not seem to do it correctly and I believe they were a trainee is also sad to me. They did not seem to have any desire to make this situation right. If I ran a business like that I would have sent the entire partial in to be redone since they didn't make it properly to begin with, but I guess because they got their money from my co-pay and my insurance company they were done with me. It's very disappointing for me because I used to really enjoy going there and I even told a few friends of mine about how great they were. I guess things change. Channel Islands Family Dental certainly did. Oh, they solicit for positive reviews online too, and tell you they will give you a gift certificate or something if you make positive reviews. That seems insincere to me because they should let the work they do speak for itself. It's easy to make a review that is favorable, it's much more challenging to deliver professional and "caring" care. Especially to someone who has paid a co-pay for it and did not get what they paid for. I am editing this review on July 20, 2021. I have had some recent experiences that I have really appreciated with Channel Islands Family Dental and they are going beyond what I would expect in trying to make my partial denture issue right. I really appreciate that too. I think it just took a while for everyone to get on the same page because of the challenges with the pandemic and my disability of not being able to hear and so I think they are trying really hard to make my situation right, and I appreciate that greatly. I am glad to be a patient of theirs.

I had a killer toothache and was referred by a friend. They were able to get me in on an emergency appointment the same day and were very accommodating when I explained my previous experiences with dentists. Hoping to make this my new regular care office. So far, nothing but a good experience

This is the first time I have ever written an adverse Google review but Channel Islands Family Dental deserves it. My 6 year old daughter was seen at the PH office for a broken filling and, even though I asked over the phone if they take pediatric patients, we were told once we arrived that she would need to go to the Oxnard office. The Oxnard office attempted to fill one of her teeth. but the doctor was not kind to my daughter, who was nervous about her procedure, and they completely rushed through it. Then, we were told that we needed to go to a completely pediatric office and that they would take care of a referral to Sugarbug. I made an appointment with Sugarbug and assumed everything was fine. In the meantime, CIFD called me to let me know that we had a balance at the Oxnard office and that I needed to come in to pay in-person. I drove to the office and was told that no one was available to take my payment and that they could text me a payment link. I paid our balance but was admittedly confused as to why I had to drive all the way to their office if a payment link was available the whole time. Then, when we showed up for our Sugarbug appointment, CIFD told Sugarbug that they couldn't release my daughter's x-rays without a signed authorization so, since we were already at her appointment, we had to pay for a whole new set of x-rays. CIFD also offers gift cards to customers who write 5-star Google reviews (the signs are plastered all over their offices with this offer) which explains why I thought this would be a good place to take my daughter when, in fact, it was not. To be fair, this may be a great practice for adults but it is not an appropriate place to take children. I wish CIFD would have shared this information from the beginning because we could have saved ourselves a lot of time and headache by going to Sugarbug from the beginning. I am extremely disappointed in our experience with CIFD and I would recommend them to absolutely no one, not even my worst enemy.

Very patient and make you feel as comfortable as possible

Front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. It was 7:50 AM and she was still in a great mood... very impressed! They were quick to call me up. When performing X-Rays, they made sure I felt comfortable. Didn't expect the place to look so nice on the inside, but it looks very prestige & has great service! Definitely coming back! Staff knew exactly what to say and do to make this dentist visit less painful. I hate the dentist, but after this, I'm excited to come back!

This is not in the best location, but the kindness of the staff and dentist really do make up for that. I have been going here for almost 2 years. They are very open to working with your schedule. They are also great at getting you in very quickly.

This business is full of amazing and kind people who do an outstanding job at making your experience at the dentist the best it can be. I personally don't like dentist but coming here really changed my mind and just to mention a few amazing people are Govana Ward and carolina made my time here amazing definitely recommend

I personally had an excellent experience with them. They have a very good customer service and hospitality. In my first appointment, Dr. Gustavo Assatourians explained to me the procedure they would take to remove my wisdom teeth and he answered all my questions and concerns. Dr. Thomas, was who performed the surgery and it was fast and painless. I also was able to recover fast enough. They are very professional and they care about their patients. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I verified twice I could be in and out in an hour, I was in the office for 40 minutes before I was initially brought back, appointment time totalling 1 hour and 35 minutes. Recommend staff to brush up on professionalism. Not a single person introduced themselves out of the 3 that touched me, and they each seemed less than pleased to be working on me. You basically feel like an animal being pushed through a meat market. Overbooked appointments, very loud music and television. Dirty waiting room, outdated decor and old equipment. My cleaning was okay, but definitely am on the lookout for someone else to do my next one.

Great experience from start to finish. Receptionist friendly. Dental assistant very helpful with my daughter. Dentist made sure I was comfortable throughout dental procedure. I already recommended this office to a family member!

I have been to several dentists in the past three years and this was easily the best experience I have had. The doctor took his time when inspecting my teeth and gave me a fantastic recommendation for cleaning and cavity care. When it came time for the operation, he was careful and thorough. For the first time, I have not had sensitivity in my teeth after an operation and have not had to go back to have my filling shaved down. I highly, highly recommend using this dental office. You won't be disappointed!

I don't usually write reviews, but my entire experience with this office from start to finish was awesome. The front receptionists were very warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. I saw all the great reviews for this place and thought I would check it out. The ladies at the front where very friendly. Unfortunately the dentist I had was very aggressive and had no patient sensitivity on how he talked to me and was very unprofessional. He didn’t explain to me what the terms where that he was saying out loud while checking my mouth. I only give one star for Jonathan he’s a good guy but wasn’t the dentist and tried to explain to me what was going on. I can’t speak for the other dentist here but just the one I had, had a horrible experience with him. He’s a younger guy kinda tall and wears glasses.

The stuff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The office is clean and covid19 protected. All stuff wears a masks and keep up the the CDC guidelines for covid19. I tell all my friends and family about them and how well they've been with my appointments.

The dentist is very efficient and was pretty much pain free all three times I was in there. Knows what she's doing. (Cute too by the way). Very professional. The staff is easy to deal with. Two thumbs up!! I like them!!!

I would like to start by saying this has been by far the best dental experience I have had. As a kid I was traumatized of going to the dentist but Dr.Gustavo and his kind and professional staff made it a pleasant visit. I was able to get my 4 wisdom teeth extracted the same day and was stoked that they offered me nitrous for this procedure. Definitely would recommend this office to my friends and family.

First time visiting the dentist in awhile and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Dentist visits give me anxiety but I felt at ease here. Quick and efficient delivered with kindness and care. Definetly will continue to attend my follow up visits here.

Usually when I go to this office, I know that they would never take me in at the appointment time and would have to wait 20-30 minutes until being seated. Today was different. I had an appointment at 11:00am for just a consolation, something I thought would only take about an hour of my day. I checked in and waited outside until I was called in. I actually waited 3 hours and didn't think I had to wait for something that long. There were people there after me who actually went in before I even did. I left the place at around 1pm without an explanation nor an apology and was told that I was getting called in but wasn't listening but they could've went up to me and told me without calling me from a distance. Wasted 3 hours of my day waiting for nothing.

The front staff are very kind and helpful. Dr Gustavo is a miracle worker and was able to help me find relief. I have suffered for years with many dental issues and he offered me hope that I was not doomed! I highly recommend coming to this dental office .

I love this Dental office, this was my first time going to the dentist in a long time and Dr. Gustavo was very nice and professional, he explained to me the importance of going to the dentist regularly and what could if I don't keep up with my oral hygiene. I have also met the other Drs. and they are awesome!! I highly recommend this office to my friends and family. Very good Dentists.

I just called to inquire if my insurance was in network with this dental office: (back story: I only have health insurance through Anthem apparently general pediatric dentistry is covered thru just the health insurance, Anthem provided me a list of in network dentist but said to call and check to confirm the dentist was still in network -which is what I was trying to do) So I spoke with Cindy I believe was her name she seemed confused. I explained the above and asked her to see if she could check to ensure we were in their network before making an appointment - she said they only check the day before the appointment - I did not understand what the point of that was. Frankly she just seemed lazy and had ZERO desire to check or help me, then I said I will call back and SHE HUNG UP ON ME! Lazy and beyond rude, if this is the person who is representing their dentistry then they just lost my business! Thank you Cindy

First of all, i'm terrorized of dentists! I have gone to several, and even if they may seem capable, their "attitudes" have been discouraging. Instead, I have to say, that at the Channel Island Family Dental Office there is an atmosphere of courtesy and friendliness with all the people working there. And Dr. Tebyani deserves the biggest compliment! Besides his incredible sense of humor, he has professional expertise with how he handles my teeth. It's reassuring, and I feel the confidence of being in good hands. Definitely, this dental office has the unique combination of competence and courtesy combined! I recommend it to anyone.

Would not reccomend will be contacting higher ups, ,did not treat my mother correctly. They left her swollen for two weeks and when she told them the dentist laughed in her face. The whole appointment they were not treating her correctly and were extremley rough. I myselff have been to this dentist a couple of years ago for my wisdom tooth and they were rude and extrmely slow (a 3 hour wait time). In addition the dentist over medicates his patients and lacks years of experince ( 1 year of experince). WILL BE PURSING LEGAL ACTION.

My son woke up with a toothache, so i called around and everyone put me on hold for crazy wait times or just didn't answer. When I called this place they answered right away and even booked my appointment for the next day. When I came in they were very nice and understanding. Most of all gental with my son and mindful of his pain. I will keep this dentist without a doubt.
