It was a pleasure working with Dino and his team. Like any other first time home buyer, we have a lot of questions throughout the process both Dino and Mario are always there to answer them and provide support. On top of that they are genuinely good people who want to help other people. We closed yesterday and thank you, Dino and the team for helping us becoming first time homeowners!

We were first introduced to Dino (California Costal Loans) through our realtor (David Sidoni – “How to Buy a Home” podcast). We had no idea exactly what a mortgage broker is. If you’re reading this review, I’ll try to break down how they might be useful for you when it comes to buying a house. When buying a home, you have a couple of options on how to finance your home purchase. You can: 1) use a ‘big-box’ bank like Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, etc. 2) use your credit union that you already have that you may have been introduced to by school, work, military, etc. 3) use an online lender like Quicken, Rocket Mortgage, Owning, etc. that advertises super low interest rates 4) use a mortgage broker like Dino (California Costal Loans). You have to understand when it comes to #1-3 you’ll run into several problems if you’re trying for a ‘fast’ close or if you need any type of immediate response about a financial question. Here are some reasons why: a) They can’t close as fast as Dino, period. In fact, you can’t pick up a phone and call them if you need a quick answer. You will be stuck on a customer care line trying to reach a representative that will not be involved in the deal you’re trying to get closed. Try calling an online lender to get a quick answer – see you in 1 hour from now. b) The length of time relationship does not have any serious bearing on what kind of “deal” you can get. By “deal”, I am talking about the ‘products’ aka interest rate / length of time loan that is available to you. #1-3 will only have several products depending on your credit score and available liquid down payment cash you have. If you don’t fit in their ideal profile on what a product requires – you either won’t qualify for that product OR it’s not a product that is financially viable for you. Read: It will be an outrageous interest rate that will make you pay a lot of money over a longer length of time. So what is a mortgage broker aka #4, and what do they do that is different? For a fee, they have access to other lenders and interest rates at a wholesale price. The broker works with you to put together your financial paperwork / portfolio together ahead of time. With this portfolio, he run your credit once, and shops it against all the available lenders and interest rates / products that are currently in the market. So that is all the background work a mortgage broker does that you won’t see. Just know that these wholesale interest rates are the same, or in most cases, lower than what #1-3 can provide. However, what I was personally impressed with was if there’s a deal that #1-3 can do, if Dino can’t beat it – he’ll tell you and will encourage you to pursue the better deal. The wholesale interest rates and lender have a vested interest in securing your loan because they want to make money. They do not hesitate to work with California Costal Loans because they only receive a financial portfolio that is ready to buy a home. Dino has a vested interest in making sure your financial portfolio is the ideal client a lender wants to have. It’s a win-win situation for all parties – and you win because you get a low interest rate and a lender willing to finance the purchase of your new home. What sets Dino & Team apart is the customer service. Think Nordstroms. Think Costco. Superior customer service. He will take your video/call, and he will also proactively explain all the pricing, principle, interest, taxes, and insurance details up front. Anytime you have a question, email or call him. He gets back to you fast. This is critical when you are looking at homes and you see a listing price (or possibly an offer price above the listing price) and he can help you build a visual / graphical model backed with charts on how the price will result in your monthly mortgage payment. During escrow, his team worked with the escrow company to make sure the entire buying team (you, them, and your realtor) were never the bottle neck. Our deal went extremely smoothly – and I would not hesitate to recommend Dino / California Costal Loans to anyone.

Dino and Mario just knocked it out of the park!! From refinancing my fathers house to helping us get approved and funded for our dream home. They were patient and helpful every step of the way. As a business owner, it’s very challenging to get approved for any loans and we spent months preparing. Coastal walked us through what we needed to do to make our dream home a reality. And when we finally found one they moved so fast and made it so that we were competitive with other buyers. The sellers real estate agent called Dino and spoke to him for 30 minutes, reassuring him that funding wouldn’t be an issue even though we have a smaller down payment. I’m positive that this conversation is what got us are home. Our real estate agent did a great job but it really was Dino and his team that made this happen. We are very appreciative. I sold my home and was contemplating between few scenarios of what to purchase and in what areas. Dino walked me through all of them in great patience and everytime he would send vivid comparison tables of the financing routes available. He uses state of the art technology to present options, nothing would be manual or in a written email you need to figure out. This process took few months as I was going back and forth between few options. I started on February and closed escrow at the end of June. If throughout the process I had a lender offering me a better deal (as it happened to be the certain case at the time for a jumbo loan), Dino told me with the most honesty and straight forwardness to go for it. If he thinks the client is better off taking a different route, he would recommend it without hesitation and without him getting anything out of it. I love his honesty and that he always keeps thinking of the client's side. Eventually I didn't do a jumbo loan and ended up using his services to finance my home purchase. I got a great rate and a great house and couldn't be more happier. There was an issue with the appraisal which complicated things but he found a creative way to get around it as well. His team is great as well, very responsive and they get things done fast & efficiently. I really appreciate all the work they put into my process as I was trying to figure out my best option! I highly recommend Dino and his team and I would def use them again!

Dino Katsiametis is as good as it gets! Dino thinks out of the box to come up with the best options.
