5star service at Brightstar in Margate! I went in that branch based off of the google reviews to get an auto loan. Stacy Sanchez assisted me and my wife, and was exceptional. Stacy was extremely warm and knowledgeable. Also, she helped us get the best rate in town that was a lot lower than we expected. Highly recommend Stacy Sanchez at Brightstar for any of your banking needs.

I've been with Brightstar for a few years now. I do business banking with them. Honestly still trying to figure why I stayed so long. I'm not sure if customer service or consistency is important to them. I would say it isn't. I will not complain about the lines out the door at every branch, or that the ATM at most branches barely work. I won't even complain about the fact that you can not use popular apps like Zelle and if you pay by check they will not post to your account for a week or more which makes cash flow difficult. I came to complain today about Brightstars inexplicable policies. I deposited a check that they are holding for 10 days. Why? I was told because I deposited into the ATM and didn't come inside. Interesting that I was never told that and interesting the ATM is at the bank itself. Whats the difference? Ive deposited checks for years that were not held. Forget about the fact that thousands of dollars flows through that account monthly so why a check would need to be held at all is ridiculous. So of course I wasn't pleased. I went to the branch to complain and basically got nothing but blank stares. No one cares at Brightstar. So I closed one account and will close the other once the check post in 10 days I guess. To make matters worse the Branch Manager in Margate closed the account as I wish but also canceled the card on the other account that is still open. So now my money is being held hostage, and I can't even use the money in the account because the card was seemingly vindictively cut off too. I called customer service because I can not stomach going into another brightstar anymore. They couldn't figure it out. They were supposed to be calling back but it's been hours. Beware of Brightstar.

THE WORST PLACE TO BANK WITH. THEY ARE SLOW AS HELL AND ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I WAS JUST ON HOLD FOR 25 MINUTES AND THEN HUNG UP ON. BANK STATEMENTS AREN'T EVEN AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOMERS WHO NEED THEM. I HAVE GONE INTO THE BANK FOR SERVICE AND THEY STILL CAN'T HELP. GOING BACK TO TD BANK.

My customer service representative was Mercedes. She was pleasant and informative. She was very reassuring because I was worried that someone had removed my bank card from my mailbox. She was very insuring as she checked to see if the card was activated. All of the representative are always kind and efficient. Mercedes certainly did not let me down. Listen, I worked with Alissa Givens at the margate location for my auto loan. She was nothing but pleasant and walked me through the process. Her response rate was excellent and she communicated with me throughout the whole process. She excels at following up with customers to ensure they are fully satisfied. If you need a great Services Representative to work with she is located at the Margate location. Very positive attitude and works the hardest to get you the services needed. My husband and I opened up an business acct in the Margate office with the member service representative named Alissa. We can both agree that she is an phenomenal person. Talk about impressive, she was prepared, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She answered all our questions and made us feel very much at ease. We were members for over 5 years, but recently we had have to close our accounts because of driving distance. However, we want to thank the banking personnel, especially Mrs. Jenieve Austin for making the closing procedures less painful. Alan was the most helpful representative in credit card payments dept.!!! After more than 4 unsuccessful attempts at calling Brighstar to speak to someone to help me resolve my issue and provide genuine customer service, I landed Alan who did just that! Give him a promotion for his patience and his aptitude to deal with the people. Provide incentives to the employees like him that show to have real skills and that help your business shine (good help is hard to find nowadays) ... and Brightstar, you need to revamp your customer automation line it is very annoying to deal with and hard to even get to speak to an actual human, the wait time is too long and it also takes too long for you to have the option for a call back.

I was challenged in trying to upload statements for an account. Robert was such a great help! Several steps had to be followed to achieve this: creating Online Banking account; setting up login information; updating contact information as well as the security information. He patiently and efficiently explained as I proceeded to follow his directions. Job well done thanks to Robert's service. Thank you.

I got a text about a suspicious transaction. Their system caught it. My debit card cancelled. The next day I called to get a new replacement debit card, the lady that help me out was great. She got the card ordered and then insisted that I check my account while she was on the phone. I’m so glad she did. There were other items that posted that were not mine. She filed the fraud report for me. Very professional and thorough. I love BrightStar Credit Union over BofA that I used to be my bank.

I been banking with brightstar for about 4 years. They service always been great n i honestly would bragged about how awesome they are until today. My birthday was on the 16 of August. My driver's license expired this year, I have been trying to book an appointment with the dmv and it been difficult due 2 the pandemic. I went to the bank 2 withdraw money from my account and was denied because my license expired. Its clearly me, we are in a pandemic and I was turned away because of my driver's license expired. They should be understand but they wasn't. I don't think I will return to this branch. Hopefully the others are understand. If not ill close my account all together

I made what I thought was my final payment on my car loan but after it was processed it showed I still had a 17 cent balance. So I called and spoke with Barbara and she was very helpful getting the 17 cents paid off as well and starting the process to send my title to me. The five star goes out to a very helpful and patient customer Rep named Denise. She is truly amazing and I thank her for taking her time to make sure that everything went well regarding the situation that was going on for more than a two weeks. What took weeks to process for my loan, Denise made sure it happen within minutes. Not only is she not within the department to handle my account, she made sure to provide her information to contact her directly if for any reasons my loan process is overlooked and for her to make sure that someone attends to the matter. Again I think you for your kindness and being very helpful Denise.

Called into the bank to see about getting a vehicle refinance. Representative advised that we can have that done in the branch and suggested that we go inside: Walking into the branch in Margate a young lady asked if we needed help with something. I explained what I was there for and she didn’t understand. I restated the reason for my visit and she stated she don’t understand sign in with the IPad in the back. We proceeded towards the IPad and Alexis Givens stopped and asked if we have a business account. She said have a seat because a business account is required. She came off as non helpful, rude and her vibe was not welcoming at all. No customer service and she looks so unwelcoming. This is so disheartening to know my first time walking in there, I will never return. Not a pleasant experience. I advised her I will stay with my bank Navy Federal Credit Union and I have to literally drive 1hour and 26 mins to get there. I will do it anyway to than to deal with people who feel like we are bothering them to do a job. Disgusting branch!

Robert was amazing! He literally walked me through the process of not just accessing my account, but taught me how to add external accounts. He was uber patient and knowledgeable. I had some doubts about a cu that I'd never physically been in; however, with all of the products they offer, I'd be crazy not to take advantage of them. This branch is sooooo Unprofessional. There is no GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Was coming in to open a Acct as a new member but due to the lack of courtesy no EXCELLENT customer service I will be taking my bank services else where. Stacy one the employees came out and told a group of 5 ppl to be waited on that her work as a loan officer was more important than helping us who has been waiting over 20mins in the lobby. The branch manager told her employee to not disturb her to come out and speak to us as a courtesy to let us know how long we would have to wait to be seen. We understood staff is short… but where is the customer service to let us know that you will be with us. They have one person on the floor and Stacy on floor at her desk that could have assisted another client. I will be taking my service to ft lauderdale branch or priority… I will never return back to this unprofessional branch that has a I don’t care attitude.

After purchasing a three year old preowned vehicle from a well know dealership in Ft Lauderdale I quickly realized that not only did I purchase a lemon but that they also financed me a three year old vehicle at the same price it was brand new. To get out of that hot mess I traded it in for a brand new one. Of course they wanted to saddle me by transferring some of the cost of the lemon to this new vehicle except this time around I told them I would finance through my credit union (BrightStar). Stacy at the Margate branch of BrightStar is the rep. I sat with and presented her with the buyer's order. Her eyes popped as she looked at it! She quickly pointed out to me all the unnecessary add ons plus almost $10,000 from the lemon car that was quietly built into the price of the new vehicle. She straight up told they were putting me upside down into a new vehicle (something I otherwise would not have noticed). She told me to go back to them and just what I needed to say to them. I did! Of course they did not like the new me who sat in front of them because I also got their corporate office involved! They corrected everything. Stacy processed my loan and all ended very well. Much thanks Stacy! I've gained so much knowledge from you about car buying. The biggest lesson is to never allow these crooked dealerships to offer you financing and go over that buyer's order or sale contract with a fine tooth comb before signing anything and don't go alone! I’ve been a member of credit union for over 20 years and deposited checks at this particular branch in the past, but today I was unable too. The change of staff and the lack of professionalism and customer service is unbecoming I suggest credit union member to cautious using this branch.

It tok a long time to resolve my issue, but the young lady working with me was very pleasant and effective. She got it done to my satisfaction. I joined this credit union in 1976 and I have never regretted it nor have I ever been disappointed.

I have been having issues with getting my debit card for about 2 months. And, I couldn’t seem to figure out why not. I had the system to contact me back and I had the pleasure to meeting over the phone Mercedes Black which she were very patient and friendly with me during our first call, because I just wanted answers. She suggested that she would call me back on tomorrow which she did. And she was great! I would like to mention Rachel, senior loan officer, who was very helpful by answering my all of questions about their mortgage options. She was very knowledgeable and I left the conversation feeling more confident about the mortgage process. I am looking into buying my first home and bright star will more than likely be my lender choice.

As of today I am closing my account on with Brightstar, they have a very Archaic way of banking. My checking account got hacked 7 times by some company, Brightstar made them return 4 stolen payments out of the 7 and credited three. I got left with zero dollars in my checking and I was told they left it up to the theives to give me back the money that was in my checking to start with. Who does that?!!! BRIGHTSTAR does! I have a big amount of money coming to me and I refuse to do business with people ( Brightstar) who make deals with theives and leave their customers for dead. Do yourself a favor and find a better credit union. This place is horrible with recovering your stolen money. I'd give it ZERO stars if I could.

The Margate branch is my favorite location. If When I go through the drive-through or walk in I always have a good experience. Mercedes is one of the best customer service people I have ever dealt with. She is professional, patient, and offered me good advice on managing my money. The entire staff is just excellent.

Fraud alert phone call today and out of town. Chan and others were able to help me so that I had money to return to South Fla prior to completely freezing my account. Very thorough and polite throughout communications

I had great experience with Mr Phillip yesterday in helping me to resolve an issue with my account at Brightstar Credit Union.. Phillip is Supervisor at Brightstar Credit Member Services. He went above and beyond to make sure that I was able resolve a problem with my account that’s been going on for the past three years.... I’ve talked to many many different people and supervisors trying to get the same problem resolved but it was unfortunate..until I spoke to Phillip..He understood what needed to be done.. So he took my phone number and said he would give me a call back. Within a few hours I got a callback from Mr Phillip with some great and exciting news... So now I know longer have to worry about this issue on my account.. Thank you Mr Phillip for saving the day..

To be honest every time I call each of the agents and I honestly can remember all fo their names Alan, Lori, chance ( I believe really energetic happy on the phone guy) exceptional each and everyone. If there is additional help you can provide to help me improve my credit I would appreciate it my goal is to purchase a new car in the next 6 months. (Yes I know you do auto loans but the credit needs work 1st)

I had a great customer service experience when I called Bright Star. I spoke to a friendly woman named Antoinette. She was very knowledgeable, patient, and engaging. Very refreshing to know that the credit union has quality employees.

My experience with sales rep, Jasmine was amazing. Jasmine was professional, informative, personable & extremely patient. I’m not internet friendly nor was I familiar with the BrightStar app. Jasmine walked me through the whole process step by step never making feel as if I was taking too long or wasting her time. Alissa Givens in the Margate branch is the person who worked very hard on both visits to the branch and with follow-ups to resolve a serious banking situation regarding possible fraud as well as with another situation regarding a staff problem. I was very happy with the service I received. I has called to inquire about paying off my car loan. Tia went above and beyond in Making this experience very easy. After making the transfers , from one account to the other. She gave me my balances. And went on to explain to me what to do when I receive my papers from you in the mail in order to get the car title.

Their customer service is poor. I went to the front door it was locked, so I go to the other door. I waited for a customer service representative. After 10 minutes I and the person behind me were instructed to use the kiosk near the front (locked) door. All the while a CSR was available and made eye contact. That is really not acceptable. After they called on me, I informed the CSR (I had made eye contact with earlier) about the kiosk near the locked door. She didn't want to hear it. I think I was offering good advice to move it to the unlocked door. Oh the employees do not have any name tags or name displays on their desks. Really, I thought that is a basic customer service item.

If you can, bank elsewhere. I am counting the days til I close my accounts and never see this company again. They don't even facilitate zelle. Horrible service on the phone (Geanie (sp) is the supervisor, the absolute worst) and for a credit union they're not accommodating at all. The pandemic proved this to me in many ways. Not worth the headache.
