Glenn McKnight got us a great rate and a super cash out to improve my property. The process was unbelievably fast compared to the big banks. The closing was easy and in my own home. Glenn insisted I call his direct number with any questions I might have had- which were very few due to the short time and simple processes.

Blue Spot sets the bar up when it comes to efficient processing and communication. I applied for refinancing if my home. They offered competitive rates. Everything was online. Their document portal is very easy to use. I was surprised when they told me my loan was ready for closing. I didn't expect them to complete so fast. I am very pleased with my refinancing experience overall.

My wife and I just purchased a new home and chose Blue Spot Home Loans (based out of Colorado) based on their reviews and ratings. We began the loan process early in our home search so there was a significant time between the application and actually finding our next home and completing the purchasing process. Our Loan Officer, Anthony Edwards, was there to help in anyway possible, including verifying the purchase price range in which we should be looking. Once we finally found the house we wanted, the seller's gave 1 condition to all potential buyer's who submitted bids, we had to be able to close withing 3 weeks! I quickly called Anthony at 9pm EST and being 6pm Colorado time, Anthony answered our call. We explained the situation to him and he assured us that if we could get him all the required documentation needed very quickly, they would be able to close in 2 1/2 to 3 weeks, so we submitted everything that night. In the course of the next few days, I was in contact with the loan processor assigned to our account, Erica Watson. She and Anthony explained everything, including what they would need. We were in daily contact as to where things stood and if other documentation was needed. For example, we were also in the midst of selling our apartment and need those proceeds to help with the second half of the down payment. Blue Spot needed the something from the Title company used to sell our apartment and Erica was kind enough to contact the Title company directly to get what she needed. We did close on-time and both were the most helpful loan team I have ever encountered! I've worked with brick and mortar institutions, as well as doing the entire process online, as with Blue Spot and I am so glad I went with them! Anthony and Erica ensured that the process was straight-forward and were always available to answer any questions I had, especially when I was stressed out. I was planning to go with a previous lender to finance our second home purchase, but the rate seemed high. After looking around, I came across Blue Spot, and I'm so glad I did. The rate was about 3/4 point less than our previous lender, and they were very responsive when I first reached out. That's the easy part, of course, since they're trying to close the sale. Now that we've closed the loan, I'm even more impressed. They were remarkably responsive throughout the entire process to the point that our realtor started asking for more information about the company because of how easy it was for everyone involved. I thought about refinancing since the beginning of the Pandemic, but I kept putting it off. When I noticed that the rate started going up this year, I decided to do it and I'm glad I did. I received 3 loan estimates and Blue Spot Home Loans gave me the best deal. The process took 4 weeks. It would have taken 3 weeks, but it took me awhile to get my financial documents together. Everything was done through e-mails and their portal site. Easy process. Highly recommend this company.

This went from a 5 star experience to a 4 star experience to a 2 star experience very quickly. SUMMARY: If you want a fast and easy refinance, this is the place for you. If you want accuracy and consistency, go elsewhere. DETAILS: The experience of applying for and going through the loan process was top notch. Everything was done online. It was made extremely clear exactly what they needed from me, and our conracts Dan and Lexi were very responsive, helpful, understanding, and kind. Everything happened extremely quickly, which was awesome. Things went downhill after closing, though, when despite having had multiple emails about how we wanted to pay into our escrow holding by check rather than have that few thousand dollars added to the mortgage and the fact that we brought and gave a cashiers check for it to closing exactly as told, they added the amount into our mortgage and refunded us the check amount. This altered both the total amount of our loan and slightly increased our monthly payments. When I contacted them about the issue, they refused to correct their mistake, saying they can't do anything. Then this week, about a month after closing & prior to our first payment even being due, they sold our mortgage to a different lender. The entire reason we went with Blue Spot over another lender that offered us better terms was because of their 100% online service. The lender they sold our loan to does not have any method of online communication, and when I contacted Blue Spot about how that does not work for us and needs to be corrected, I was once again told that they can't do anything about the problem they caused.

Our experience at Blue Spot Home Loans was ok. We had several issues getting the appraisal scheduled and were not notified of any updates regarding the status unless we reached out ourselves. Due to the appraisal issues we closed about a month late. Even though we closed late Blue Spot did honor the initial interest rate that we had locked in, which was very nice. I would like to see better communication from the lenders when there are issues with the processing of the loan. Overall they were very easy to work with . I am happy with the outcome and would recommend them.

Wow! Easiest thing I’ve ever done. Great rate. Very easy to work with. If you’re searching around like I did, stop here. The title company they worked with sent an agent to my house to close. I spent 30 minutes gathering documents and John Johnson did the rest. We are having a little glitch with property taxes that were double paid by our previous lender and the title company, but not at the fault of anyone- just the timing. I engaged Blue Spot from a search on Bankrate.com. They had excellent reviews and advertised competitive terms. I was lucky to be connected with Dallas Mortensen at Blue Spot and he stepped me through the process for my mortgage. He offered me a few combinations of terms and even worked a discount for me while we were on the phone. I had unique circumstances and waited longer than I should have (my fault) to initiate the mortgage searching, but his Blue Spot team (Deserae and Kayla) worked really hard to get me closed on time. Yes, we made ourselves available to get them the documentation they needed ASAP, but they didn't sit on that info--- they expedited it through their efficient team and made it happen. They almost immediately sold our loan to a 3rd party servicer, but that is to be expected with these discount mortgage orgs. I've refininced properties a few times in my life and it is always a little daunting. The Blue Spot team was great to work with, and they were very patient when the particular circumstances of my financial documentation were not as straight forward as perhaps is usual. While the process may take some twists and turns (you're never exactly sure what the underwriters may ask for) Blue Spot will be there to guide you to the end.

Not happy at all, If I had to do it all over again, I would go with someone else. Of course when you initially talk to the Agent ( Andrew ), Everything sounds good. Then it begins and the further you go along, The more misleading information you get that some how becomes a " misunderstanding ". Another thing that still bugs me has to do with the Rate lock. I had a 30day Rate lock that started 02/10 and had a Sign Docs Date on 03/11 which I was being charge for an Extension for my Rate lock because I guess it took longer than 30days. On the night before my Signing I sent an Email to my Agent saying " February only has 28 days and the Signing date of 03/11 makes it only 29days. I didn't get a response regarding it, BUT guess what happens? The Day I am suppose to Sign, The notary contacts me about an 1hr before our appointment to say " Docs are on hold " . I asked her what that meant, She said they never faxed her the Docs. So of course I reach out to my Agent and he was Shock that happened and basically said that someone dropped the ball in sending them out to the Notary. This was all on a Friday which means I have to now wait till Monday to sign which of course coincidently is now over the 30days. hmmmmmm ... He also said do not worry about any additional Cost / Per diem ect, that this was there mistake and not to worry about it. Of course he calls me the following Monday to say that the Signing will be that night and that I have to come up with more Monday at Signing ( which he says isn't much, which he always says when a dollar amount comes up )due to the " Per Diem", When I brought up what he said, OF Course AGAIN it's another "misunderstanding" Sighssssss. At that point I just wanted it to sign and END this them. So just beware and maybe record everything that is being said or maybe you will be lucky to have someone who truly is helping you in every way possible.

Best rate of VA Cash out Refi. Everything went pretty smooth, the loan officer and assistant were always available. The last minute issues and the crackhead appraiser are reason for stars. Vance and MccManus overall good job, I appreciate all of your hard work. Please never hire that appraiser again.

Refinance. Dan (and Lexi) guided us through the process. No unpleasant surprises, hidden fees. All emails were clear, estimates were correct (we even paid a bit less than estimated). The escrow check from previous lender was delayed for about a month, clearly not a fault of Blue Spot (Cherry Creek). About two weeks after closing the mortgage was sold to Funny Mae and transferred to another processing bank even before the first payment was due. Overall it was very good experience.

Had to communicate with Title, myself, to ensure all on track. Alyssa McManus (processor) was the superstar of the team! Without her, we’d likely still be fumbling.

To state the obvious, there are gazillions of outfits that want to write you a new mortgage. I almost fell for a big New York City outfit, thinking they'd have the corner on experience, software, and rates. But then a midwestern night-owl, John Takerian, emailed me (at about 1 a.m. his time), asking what I was trying to accomplish! And he listened to my answer! Then he offered several alternatives, unlike the other outfits that just offered one rate that they thought I *should* like. We tried one other refi company a few months before them (that other company recently laid off 900 workers) who were terrible to work with, so we were not looking forward to trying again, but Blue Spot made the whole process easy while providing great rates. When we began to lag on our end (work, kids, life) they gently nudged us back onto track so we didn't lose our rate. Now we have a 15 year fixed rate that's about 1.5 points lower than our 30 year fixed rate that still had about 25 years left on it, and we're going to be able to retire on time because of that. They were either dishonest, or lacked competency, or both. We were between seven and 10 days into the process before they disclosed all their fees. The additional money totaled $4800. The loan consultant had told me a few days earlier, that because of their return they would rather not do the loan. I can only assume that this is their way of getting there expected Return. My assumption would be that this is standard practice for them, and unfortunately most people don’t have any other choice, and are forced to pay the extortion. shame on you blue spot!

We recently did our refinance with Adam through Blue Spot Home Loans. Prior to that we had been comparing rates between several lenders as we thought the timing was right for us to refinance. From the start when Adam contacted us to quote us a rate and estimated closing costs, I found him to be a trustworthy and reliable person to work with. He answered all the questions we had since initially we were on the fence dealing with a lender that was located in different state and time zone, but he put all our fears to rest by addressing all our questions early on and he was in contact with us throughout the loan process. Although at the end due to some unforeseen reasons that prolonged our loan process, they ended up extending our loan past the initial lock rate, but at the end they honored the initial rate and didn't charge us any additional fee for the lock extension. Please keep in mind that the loan process is a team work and just as you need to have a strong team on your end on the lender side, you need to be responsive to all their requests and provide needed documents in a timely manner and that is precisely what we did trying to do our part to make their work as smooth as possible. Erica Watson, our loan processor was also very helpful communicating all the underwriters requirements to us in a timely manner. I found Blue Spot Home Loans through Bankrate.com while I was researching options for a cash out refinance. Bank rate was very helpful in suggesting 3 options to investigate based on my situation. Initially I was skeptical about working with an online mortgage company, and so I looked Blue Spot/Cherry Creek Mortgage up for reviews, checked their website and looked them up on the BBB website. They had been doing mortgages for 30 years. Blue Spot offered us the best terms of any bank we had reached out to. I was on the lookout for "the catch" and there just wasn't one. Our agent Michael handled everything very smoothly. If ever we had a confusing section on a form or question from the underwriters, I would reach out to Michael and he would say "Oh don't worry about that...that's standard." He was immediately responsive to emails and texted questions. Their software made it easy to upload application documents. The closing costs we paid were exactly what they said they would be. I think it took less than 3 weeks from the time we applied to the time the loan closed...amazing. The notary public they arranged for us was highly experienced and did the best job of any of the several mortgages we have taken out in our lives. We are very pleased that we took the chance on an online mortgage company and found Blue Spot. I highly recommend Blue Spot Mortgage.

I refinanced my mortgage with Blue Spot Home Loans from a 30-year at 3.25% to a 20-year no cost loan at 2.75% for nearly the same monthly payment. All documentation can be provided electronically through a secure portal. All signatures prior to closing can be done electronically, too. When the time came to close, they sent a notary public to my house, who really knew what he was doing. Everything went smoothly except for the calculation of the amount i needed to initially find the escrow account, which was needed to cover the property taxes and homeowners insurance. When I started this loan process, the first property tax payment had not been made by my now previous lender. So the escrow amount was calculated to cover 2 property tax payments. Then, prior to closing, the previous lender made the first property tax payment. So my escrow payment was now double what it should be. Luckily, i caught it before writing the closing amount, which they adjusted accordingly. I highly recommend Blue Spot for your mortgage needs.

Also, with Blue Spot/Cherry Creek Mortgage, most loan processing were done on-line through their secured website, with most document signing done through a reputable on-line document signing company, which made this process straightforward and less time consuming. The title company Cordell recommended also came through, with the final documentation signed through a local notary service at my house, which made it convenient. Additionally, they provided the final closing documentation on-line for review the day prior to signing, which was helpful and made the signing process less stressful.
