When my husband and I relocated to Lexington, KY this year, we knew that there would be a lot of good things in our lives in this great community. But, we never expected the level of exemplary service we received from our mortgage company. We thought sure, we'll get a loan and have closing. That's not quite how it happened. We were treated like family by Tiffany G. of Benchmark Mortgage. She explained all the fine details of our loan and worked with us to get the best rate for the financing of the house. She allowed us to bring our dog to our meetings because we were not allowed to leave Bishop alone in the hotel (our temporary accommodations while we house-hunted). When closing day arrived, she had reserved parking spaces for us and name plates for us at the table...including one for Bishop. The communication between us was excellent and we were thrilled with our experiences. From start to finish, we were treated like we mattered. We were treated like family.

I used Benchmark several years ago for my first house with a great experience. I contacted them about a refinance. Gave them all my information. They said I would hear from them in one day. I never did. I proceeded to leave 3 voicemails in the next week that never got returned. They pulled my credit and today I got a letter in the mail saying I didn't provide them with enough information. I am not sure what changed but it wasn't the same experience I had seven years ago.

I will start by saying, after everything was signed and done, I ended up sort of ‘disappointed’. You see, I have pretty high standards of what a service-business should provide, as I own a successful company that has virtually every award in its industry for service and excellence, so my expectations usually come into play when choosing who I want to spend my money with, especially with a purchase this large. After meeting with several companies, and still not being as impressed as I had hoped, my friend Rusty, as if it’s common knowledge says, “Why haven’t you been to Benchmark Mortgage?!” Of course I’d seen their place on New Circle but it looks too big to be personal, and it looks too nice to be competitive with smaller places with potentially lower overheads. But I sent in my information anyway and set up an appointment with nothing to lose. Pull up to the building, and they have a sign with my name on it, because they are expecting me. From the emails ahead of the appointment until I pulled up to the parking lot, I could tell I was finally messing with some professionals, AND I was sure they were going to charge a lot for this kind of service. We walk in and everyone from the front door to Marty himself was a genuinely nice, thoughtful person. They treated us like family from the first second of meeting us, but every time something seems too good to be true, though, you know there is bad news coming, right?! ($$$$) I was just waiting for it honestly, almost like you’re looking at a car that’s too much money, I knew this place was going to be expensive, and they have me mistaken for a rich man based on how nice they are being to my wife and I. So here it comes: because they asked questions their competitors did not and are clearly the best at what they do, they found us the best rate and payment of anyone we spoke to, with far less money out of pocket. And remember when I said too big to be personal? Marty ended up with a couple extra tickets to a football game and called me and asked if my wife and I wanted to join him, which we did and had a great time getting to know him on a personal level, which wasn’t that different from the ‘business Marty’: remarkably kind and great to be around. In the beginning, I was sure that IN SOME WAY, Benchmark HAD to be too good to be true, but with that I was ‘disappointed’, because they are bewilderingly great at what they do in every way, and they have earned my business for life. I’d like to think that my experience with them is unique, but after reading all the reviews, clearly everyone gets this type of service. For all of your mortgage needs, if you go somewhere else, you are messing up bad. DON’T MESS UP. This is the largest purchase you will probably ever make, so make the right decision: Benchmark Mortgage
