    Benchmark is a great option for younger buyers like I. I needed a new car after my Nissan but the dust and After looking and debating I Finally found my 2004 Acura TSX. I love the car greatly and the systems they use are super easy, though I would like another car from them due to the TSX requirements of premium gas with these rising prices, I’ll be happily waiting for my 13 months to come to hopefully get the one I want. I have my eyes on one currently at the lot and I would hope it’s there still when it comes. Greatly satisfied with the establishment!

    First and foremost, Paul and Phil are absolutely incredible! Both were super friendly and had great communication. I had a very unique situation where the car I was leasing was unable to be diagnosed due to (what we assume) a major electrical issue within the computer. I had taken it to 3 shops, one being Fred Anderson Toyota with no one being able even get my car to connect. It was such a bizarre situation. I kept in contact with the dealership and their service and within 3 days they got me in a new car, even applying my previous down payment. I am so impressed with the communication and customer service. Eddie was also super friendly as always!

    Inventory was up to date online…. I had been shopping for months for this certain vehicle. Drove out there, met Wayne, test drove it…. Loved it but it had a very slight brake issue. Told Wayne, they sent it off first thing in the morning, I sat and did paperwork with Phillip that evening… it took maybe 8-10 minutes and I purchased the car! Great experience. Both gentleman were professional yet very laid back. Straight forward and honest. I would do business with them again.

    Second time purchasing a vehicle through Benchmark and the process was smooth and fast just as it was in 2019 when I bought my Lexus!     My experience working with Benchmark auto sales in Asheville NC was a very pleasant and Eddy and all those guys were very helpful when it came to finding a vehicle that works for me. If you’re in the market for a good used car I would definitely recommend giving them a try because they have a pretty good selection of vehicles depending on your budget

    Do not go to this lender once they get your money they don't care. They are not completely honest with there rules and trading in prices .They make it sound better than it is and after you make all your payments the total of the car you have pay 20% in full at the end so you if ur car is 20,000 your have pay 4,800 to own it even though I already made payments for 5 years. Warrenty go out if to many miles they do not cover spark plugs or nothing. They are frauds and all care about it money keep stuff from there customer's.

    Mr. Pressley, we are sorry you are not happy about not qualifying for our trade option because you have put so many miles on your current vehicle. However, we are extremely clear about our trade incentives. Customers have to put less than 18,000 miles per year on their current vehicle to qualify for the trade incentives. You have put 23,669 miles on your current vehicle this year (5,669 miles over our allowance) so you do not qualify for the trade incentive. We have this information on our website and go over it no less than 5 times at closing. We're not sure how we can be more transparent about how it works, but we would be happy to have a conversation with you about it if you have some constructive feedback. As far as your other comments... we include a powertrain warranty on all our vehicles. This is not a bumper-to-bumper warranty so you are correct it does not cover spark plugs. It is reasonable to expect to have to do some minor maintenance yourself on any vehicle when putting ~24k miles per year on it. And the residual payment at the end is not due in full and customers who pay on time earn rebates that can be applied to the balance.     I really wish I could give 0 stars. There gps system messed up in the car(2 mechanics confirmed and they wouldn't fix it because legally there not allowed too). So after 2 days of fighting with benchmark they finally came and picked up the car Tuesday the 8th, they told me on the phone that the car in there system showed it was running and driving since the 2nd(that should've been a hint there that it was the gps). They didn't start looking at the car until the 10th which apparently they were looking at it all day by what they said on the phone and still didn't have a answer. Well I called the 11th and they said they had to put it aside to work on other vehicles. I spoke to the manager and they gave no leniency on the payments even though I wasn't able to use the vehicle due to there equipment failure(and cant go deposit my check to pay the payments without my car). I've been having problems with them and the car since the first month I got it and I will never go here again and I recommend everyone else stay away.

    If anyone is thinking about buying a car from Benchmark Auto in Asheville, don't. I waited 2 weeks for a $12,990 07 Sequoia to be ready, only to find out AT SIGNING that the total price after financing would be OVER $22,000. I will drive my shitbox till the wheels fall off before I ever pay $22,000 for any car, much less a 15 yr old used car. This business is predatory at the very best.

I am not sure about the numbers you provided, but we would be happy to try to arrange financing for you through a traditional bank using your credit score to determine the finance charge if you prefer. Our in-house solution is fixed and is not based on credit... in fact, we don't even check credit! Our in-house program also never locks you into long-term contracts, meaning after the first year you can walk away with no strings attached anytime going forward for just a $100 early termination fee as long as you take care of the vehicle. We also include a powertrain warranty, GAP waiver, property taxes, free oil changes, local towing, etc. with our in-house program. It isn't for everyone, but it most certainly isn't predatory. Trade eligibility is in part based on putting less than 18,000 miles per year on the vehicle. You put over 65,000 miles on the vehicle in just two years and are therefore not eligible.     My dad car got shut off due to non payment but he made the payment two hours ago, the car still won’t start. If there’s a kill switch somebody should be able to turn my dads car back on after hours. He just forgot his due date. Otherwise he’s happy with Benchmark!

We will not shut off a vehicle for non-payment without having made multiple attempts to contact the customer over multiple days beforehand. The only exception to this is with an insurance lapse. Due to liability concerns, we are required to shut off a vehicle when insurance has lapsed and cannot turn it back on until insurance has been verified. We still contact the customer beforehand to try to get it figured out without having to shut off the vehicle, but we are not able to allow flexibility over multiple days to get the insurance policy active. Once the vehicle has been shut off for an insurance lapse, we are not allowed to turn it back on until insurance has been verified.     Update: picked my car up today and the issue seems to be resolved. It took 3 days but they did squeeze me in and didn't charge me because it was new. So far I'd still recommend the company. Still a little shaken up and trust is damaged. I think the communication throughout the repairs could have been better. Just a call letting me know it was diagnosed, parts were ordered and eta. But because I was frustrated being kept in the dark, I kept calling making me feel like I was being unreasonable.

    Good morning, after looking into this it appears we have your vehicle in the shop, diagnosed it and are fixing it. The service manager mentioned you were upset because the vehicle could not be fixed immediately. Unfortunately, we have to order the part, install it, etc. It was a simple fix, but not something like an oil change that could be finished on the spot without the replacement part. If this is the barrier to a 1-star review, I'm afraid we are in trouble. We try our best to fix everything as quickly as possible and can assure you this was the case here as well.     Benchmark is fantastic! Just bought my second car with them and I am extremely happy with my choice. Josh is awesome! He’s Sincere, kind, patient and knowledgeable!! Absolutely fantastic! And Ciara (sorry for the spelling) was fabulous. I can’t say enough good things about this place! They offer a power train warranty on a used car, like who does that?!? They do, that’s who! Full tank of gas. Their cars are all in excellent condition, I don’t have to worry about buying a lemon! They offer so much, to much to mention! I’m very happy I went there!

    The worst place to purchase a vehicle.. I made every payment on time every week for 3 yrs and the very last payment they didn't take my payment out of my account.. did not notify me and repossed my car because I failed to come in the office and sign paperwork for a residual payment. WRONGFUL REPOSSESSION IF YOU ASK ME ... I WOULD NOT GIVE THEM A STAR AT ALL IF HAD THE CHOICE. I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE EVER DOING BUISNESS WITH THESE SCAM ARTIST. THEY WONT TO GET U IN A BIND WITH THE HAVING TO PAY THE REPO COMPANY SO THEY CAN GET THE CAR BACK AND RESALE IT.

    Good morning Ms. Eller, we are disappointed to see this negative review and are curious what else you believe we could have done to avoid being put in the position to have to pick up the vehicle? We called, sent text messages and emails for three weeks, we called your references and even had someone come knock on your door to try to get some form of communication from you to see what was going on with finishing up the paperwork. No matter how we tried to communicate with you, we received nothing in return. We cannot allow a vehicle to remain in limbo with unfinished paperwork, as doing so puts us in a position of liability. It simply isn't an option and at some point we have to make the unfortunate decision to pick it up to protect ourselves when absolutely nothing else is working. That is what happened in your case. We are happy you came and took care of your responsibility and picked up the vehicle. We never want to pick up a vehicle, but we must from time-to-time when our customer gives us no other option.     Over bearing, underwhelming, and over priced. Another case of "I'm gonna treat you badly because I know this is the only way you can get the car you need." If you need a car for work they will reject you no matter how much you make because they care more about reselling the car when you inevitably bring it back.

    Not allowing our vehicles to be used commercially (ie Uber, Pizza delivery, Postmates, Amazon Delivery, etc.) has nothing to do with resale. Instead, it has everything to do with the fact commercial drivers depreciate the vehicle much, much faster than they pay for it. Would you finance a vehicle to someone who was going to pay you $3,500 per year for it while depreciating it well over $7,000 per year because they put 50,000 miles a year on it driving for Uber? No, because the math doesn't work. Not to mention you won't carry the proper insurance for the vehicle being used commercially because it is so expensive to do so. So when you wreck it, which often happens with vehicles being driven 50,000+ miles per year, we are left holding the bag because you didn't carry the proper insurance. No thanks. We are not in the business of providing vehicles to commercial drivers. Not allowing you to take advantage of us isn't us treating you badly... It's just us being smart. We are sorry our program isn't a fit for what you need, but we are confident in our reasoning. Best luck going forward.

    *5 star review, edited to two star* Honesty, I can’t wait to return my car back to Benchmark on October. I have worked in consumer affairs, high-level customer service my entire life. My payment was late 3 days, and they disabled the vehicle. I have been much later than that in the past. When speaking to Courtney on the phone, she is rude, abrasive, offers zero assistance, and frankly, doesn’t know how to speak to a customer. When I called to make the payment, she processed, and said “you’re good. When I asked if the car would be enabled again, she barks “that’s what I meant when I said you’re good”. She offer zero explanation or ANY positive customer service experience. Having ran two contact centers myself, for ultra luxury premium auto brands, if one of my agents spoke to customers in the tone in which I have been spoken to, they would be unemployed. Perhaps someone at Benchmark should teach some customer service and sensitivity training. If you want to be treated like Benchmark is your only option, this might be the experience for you. Do better Benchmark

    My experience was great at Benchmark. The staff was friendly and respectful, a very warm vibe. The process was simple, I was able to fill out my application online which was very convenient and saved time. I was in and out in a couple hours and they filled the tank with gas! They have many nice low mileage vehicles that are in top shape. You won’t find any junkers there, I think their goal is to provide top quality used vehicles because the major repairs are on them per the lease agreement. It’s so hard to find a decent used vehicle so I was thankful to find Benchmark.

    My wife put a down payment on a red 2012 Mazda 5 Touring a couple of weeks ago. There were issues with the car and Benchmark did us right. I've bought a lot of pre-owned cars in my life but this was hands down the best experience I have ever had. Philip was very responsive and stayed in communication and took care of us quickly.     It's as easy as stated, if you are like me and can't get a loan for a car without a ridiculous down payment, these are your people. Don't risk some other buy here pay here with cars that go straight from the auction house to the lot. From experience I can tell you it's always a gamble. But at benchmark all the cars are inspected from an unbiased party, and come with the option of a warranty and free oil changes for the period of your lease So far I have nothing bad to say about my experience, I've got troubled credit, and just switched to a new job last month if I can get a car so can you! Thanks to Wayne and the benchmark team. It's great to have places like this that will give people a chance! UPDATE: 04-05-2022 Still loving my ride, no issues whatsoever. My sister took home a red SUV today and she's had a good experience so far as well! My uncle will also be purchasing a vehicle this time next month so I'll be back for another update.     Okay let's all stop lying! This place is the worst place to get a car ever!! I honestly can't tell you how discombobulated the Warranty is. Please don't let me start on how long I've had the car...well let me start with I've only had it for 2 months and there's a hand full of problems and they won't fix nothing at all. Soon as I pulled off the lot I figured the taillight wasn't working. The windshield wipers were also broke. And let's not forget about the a/c unit not working. After month one the battery stopped working and there was a leak in the power steering. Let me add that It only take me 10 minutes in all to get to work then home. That's all I done for 2 straight months. I recommend no one go here at all. They didn't want to fix any of those repairs....with their own mechanics

    After the huge down payment, and paying on the car or truck, you still don't own it. This is a lease only. After you fulfill the contract, they will offer to sell you the vehicle, paying alot more money. It's better to go to a real dealership and get a new car

    Wish I could leave a 0. I was buying a buick from benchmark that started messing up 3 months after I started making payments. First problem brake system,Next waterpump, then the fuel injectors, 3 tune ups in 2 years because same code kept popping plugs & wires, Alternator just to name a few. Yes I have put miles on the car but I also have kept up all maintenance including oil changes up to date. This is just to name a few things there are many more repairs. I have tried for almost a year to get the car inspected but every time I fix something another problem occurs. Now 3 new codes are popping for different things not involving the motor, But I'm also being told I need a new motor for $2500 which I believe but then after that the codes will still be on for catalyst converter so the price goes up again. So with this being said the car is worth a little over 4000 on Kelly blue book but I've paid almost 15000 maybe a little more.in payments & repairs & they can't help me at all even though I have receipts for almost everything mainly not the oil changes because a lot of times family changed my oil which is allowed as long as it is changed. With that being said run before you waste your money. Least 16000 in debt for an 06. Was trying to be a good customer take care of the vehicle& pay off the vehicle but sometimes doing the right thing doesn't pay off.

As outlined in the Limited Warranty, only internally lubricated parts of the powertrain are covered, and it is voided if you cannot provide oil change receipts. Additionally, you have put 50,000 miles on the vehicle in two years.     Refuses to show me my account statement or ledger so I have no idea what is due. They have no problem calling 6 times a day to harass you and text a minimum of 4 times a day but REFUSE to let me see my information. Pretty odd to me.

    I have a vehicke through them and its not fair that they shut it down if you get ambehind a little, like you want your money and im doing my best to keep uo but i cant get to and from work to pay for my vehicle not fair or right at all

    The only good thing about here is no credit checks , and free oil changes , besides that they are a hassle and not very flexible . They also look forward to getting people to buy cars who they know can’t afford them they get em approved anyway , and take their money . Highly suggest going somewhere else . They don’t want your business they want a quick come up off ya.

    Myself and my partner were in dire need of a vehicle, I just started a new job and did not much money saved up. Like any buy here pay here dealer you will pay more than book value for a vehicle, however, Benchmark has a great leasing program where you can walk away at anytime if you choose so for a small fee after 13 months. They also offer warranties on a lot of their vehicles. Give them a try if your in need of a vehicle and don’t have much cash to spare and don’t have much credit established or have a bad credit history. Eddie “Ed” was able to get us in the vehicle we wanted and made the process very smooth, he even helped me get set up with a new insurance company when mine refused to give me coverage.     I love this place I got into a bad wreak and needed a car went to benchmark sent me all up with a nice car and didn’t even have that many miles on it . even got me hooked up with some really good cheap insurance I would highly recommend them to other people thanks guys

    If I could rate it lower I would. First they do all this talk about saying “this is a reliable car, it will run for a very long time” not even a few days after I had it I started noticing issues. I called set up an appointment to get it looked at. Had to wait 2 weeks just to hear I had to take it to a dealership.. the dealership couldn’t do anything about it. I called benchmark and they said well it’s under warranty so if it fails on you it can be replaced. I am definitely not going through this dealer ever again. Absolutely garbage, I would advise everyone to stay away from this place..

    We do not have a customer by the name Mike Hawk in our database so not sure if this review is real or not... Regardless, warranty claims always default to the manufacturer (Toyota, Ford, GM, etc) when the vehicle still has the original powertrain warranty remaining, which it sounds like the one your are describing still has. Many manufacturers are having part delays because of world-wide supply issues. This is not a new issue and you are certainly not alone in your frustration over it. Supply issues have been frustrating to us many times over now as well. If the part is not immediately available, there is nothing anyone can do about it... not the selling dealer, not the manufacturer, nobody. We are sorry you find yourself in this predicament. If you were one of our customers, we would do everything in our power to address whatever the issue was to the best of our ability. However, our hands would unfortunately be tied in the event nobody could get the part because of supply issues out of our control. It sounds like you are experiencing an issue that is out of anyone's control and misdirecting your anger at a dealership that cannot do anything about it. We hope this helps explain what it sounds like is your situation, and we hope you remove this unfounded review once you realize you have misplaced it here. Best of luck to you going forward.

    Experience was excellent. They have a good selection of vehicles, ranging in cost of down payment. I applied for financing on their website the night before. The next morning they requested what they needed to get me approved, and by early afternoon I was leaving the lot in my new car! Sooo grateful they approved me based off my job/income, because my credit is pretty bad and I never thought I’d get such a nice vehicle! Also feel great knowing it’s covered by a warranty the entire time I’m paying on it, and they change your oil for free every six months. Only had my vehicle for one full day, but so far so good! Will update if anything changes, but I highly doubt anything negative will come from this. Thanks again for all your help, Benchmark!

    Process was quick and easy. My credit tanked during Covid-19 lockdown, so every dealership wanted a high down payment or a ridiculous monthly payment, even though I have a well paying job. Benchmark put me in a car (from this century) for $750 down and $79 a week ($316 a month), with a dealer warranty for the big stuff. They even helped me get insurance since I haven’t needed it in six months. Ed was extremely helpful, encouraged me to drive all the cars in my price range to find the right fit for me. When I found the car I wanted, but had one more to test, he handed me the keys to “my” car to hold so nobody could buy it while I was testing another car. Overall, I would definitely recommend Benchmark Auto Sales to anyone, especially someone with not so great credit who needs a car now.

    Benchmark provided a good option for me to get into the vehicle I wanted. I appreciate their professional, yet personal way they do business. Everyone's situation is different, mine included. Benchmark was able to meet my transportation needs without pressure. The warranty gives me confidence in my purchase, knowing that they have a service center that is responsive. One size does not fit all but I can say that Benchmark Auto was a good fit for me.

    Yes it's a buy here pay here, my daughter and son in law got a van hadn't even made a payment yet and the van ends up in the shop. Several things needed to be fixed, and NO they didn't fix the issues. Took the van back and they wanted $500 to return the vehicle. That's a bunch of bull. Nope wouldn't even waste my time

    Excellent customer service from my salesman, Ed, and really from everyone else I spoke to or dealt with at Benchmark on Brevard rd. I stopped by their car lot two days ago, only planning to look at what they had, maybe test drive a few, check prices, and continue on to another lot to do the same before making any further decisions, but what can I say? They know how to close a deal. Drove home I in new (to me) 05 Acura mdx the next morning. Its pretty sweet. Had I been able to, they would've had me in it the first day. Car drives great and looks great inside and out. The only minor cosmetic issue interior (very worn down seat covers on driver and passenger seats), they have ordered replacements for and will fix as soon as they arrive in mail. I didnt even request they fix the seats, would've gotten the same car either way, but its a nice perk they are doing it anyways. Lease agreement and payments seem very reasonable and more than fair, especially considering the warranties and maintenance services they provide. Great experience all around, highly recommend, ask for Ed!

    A year without one missed payment, towards Christmas time they wouldn’t extend an extra week for a full payment. Reading reviews also made me cringe because they are so rude to their customers for expressing their own experience. I would honestly avoid this place and on top of that, the women who answers the phones are extremely rude and unprofessional.
