I would avoid them. I worked with John and am waiting on a new build to be completed. Interest rates were 3% in October of 2021. The new build is scheduled to be done in May of 2022. Interest rates have been steadily climbing. My realtor reminded John to reach out in early March to discuss lock in options. He never followed up. He even emailed back a week later to confirm that the email reminder was received. John sat back and watched the rates increase and did nothing! I was never offered any lock and didn't even know a 120 day lock was even possible. The communication was extremely poor and unacceptable. I am a new buyer as well and was counting on Barrett to guide me through this process. Now I am looking at a 2 point increase due to their incompetence. My advice for any buyer is to do your own research and educate yourself as best as possible. Monitor interest rates yourself because you cannot count on Barrett to help you. I will never do business with Barrett and will never recommend them to anyone else...ever.

This is the second time in a year i have used Barrett Financial, and they did not disappoint! Skye and Kristen made this such an easy process an i am very thankful for the positive experience i have had working with them. Would give 6 stars if possible. The entire team here at Barrett Financial are absolutely stellar. We worked with Tim on obtaining a mortgage loan and we have been very happy with all the hard work he put in to get us a great deal. We didn’t think I’d be able to take out as much equity as I wanted, and she had no problem with me wanting to wait it out a little. I contacted her again in early November and all the stars had aligned! I lowered my monthly payment and rate, and got the cash out I needed. I closed on my refinance in early December. Overall the experience was good. Worked with Bryan Sheets for a while as was coming from out of town and working to get a job opportunity at the same time as purchasing a house. He was quick and worked with me on when I could sign documents as came in about a week and a half before closing and he was able to get everything needed for the loan ready for when I was in town so did not have to pay for a mobile notary. Would have been nice to get a bit of a better understanding on some of the origination fees to see if I could have saved some more money here and there.

The Team at Barrett were super professional and patient in the start to finish of my loan process. I would recommend using them only if you want high quality customer experience.

My fiancé and I were relocating and needed a lender who understood our specific situation and could get us approved. We applied and connected with JT, who was the only person on the Barrett team that we felt went to bat for us. She advocated for us from the beginning to get our closing date finalized. Unfortunately, communication between Barrett, the lender and the title company was very poor during the whole process. This led to our closing being delayed multiple times and we ended up living out of boxes out of the moving truck, which cost us more $$$, leading to lost wages and extra stress, while we waited to close on our house. We were not reimbursed for any of those expenses. Our closing almost fell through due to discrepancies with the closing disclosures that no one could seem to explain the reason for. So they gave us a lender’s credit in order to account for that on closing day. Overall, the next time we buy a house, I will go with a local lender instead and certainly don’t recommend dealing with Barrett.

Where do I even begin? I was dealing with a loan officer my realtor recommended. Everything was fine until 2 weeks before my closing he dropped the ball. I was denied a loan b/c they couldn’t verify my employment. I got a new job since I decided to leave chicago and move to phoenix. My sister gave me Brians info and can i tell you how amazing he was! He got my loan done in a week! I closed on the 14th and I was scheduled to close on the 18th. And the delay was due to HOA not my end.
