Bank of the West Reviews

Nothing like a bank that randomly closes its branches without warning. This isn’t an isolated thing either. It happens in Huntington Beach as well. I drove 15 miles out of my way to go to my home branch so that I could avoid restrictions on deposits other managers randomly place based on their moods only to find it closed.

I am writing this review for my parents who have found this branch (and Maria Tran in particular) to be exceptional in their level of personal attention, availability, and professionalism.

Biggest mistake was getting two loans through Bank of the West. In the last year and a half, this branch has successfully screwed up my accounts 3 times. That doesn't include how rude and condescending a few of their bank tellers were even after realizing their own error. To top it off, they try talking me into opening more accounts with them even after I express my hatred for them. Idiots.

The Bank of the branch in San Dimas when building it made a ATM put in the front of the branch that after hours you needed your ATM card to get in. it is well lite however the front door does not close because of the hair made the door not close. Having spent a bunch of money putting in this secure, will lite. card need to gain access. The door has never been properly reinstalled. The need for the ATM was taken out all because a door would not properly close. The expense that it took to build this ATM room in the front of the bank and they can't get a door repaired. Get on the back of the builder for pete sake and get them to do what it took to get the door to properly close. What Is so hard about that to do. All that money spent to create what I thought was the finest secure ATM is now just another one that might as well be on the outside of the bank like all others. To watch it be taken apart did not make any sense after spend what ever it cost to build on to the front of the back makes you wonder what other stupid decision they are backing. I wonder.

I purchased a product that I never received, they helped me through every step. My $500 was put back in my account in good time.

The San Dimas, CA branch is closed more than it's open. They direct you to use online banking and then charge you $3.00 for a transfer to another bank. This is appalling and unacceptable. I would not recommend opening an account with Bank of the West.

have been banking with this branch since they opened which i believe is 2016. the upside is that because i come in regularly i know everyone as well as the few tellers that have moved on. also the wait time is short. usually 2 or 3 customers at the most in line which compared to wells fargo and bank of america can be 10 or more at a busy time. everyone including the manager marie are friendly and marie will also take no cash transactions if the line gets long and she is free. the rates for loans is not good in my opinion but i just have checking. the shortest wait time is between 9-11 and 3-5 when everyone has taken their lunch. if i have questions about bank procedures all the tellers take their time in explaining the details. so its convenient for me that the lines are short. they used to open on saturday but now only the covina branch is open 9-12.

This bank and branch manager are shady. If I could give a zero for this branch I would. I gave several bad experiences with this particular branch. I complained to upper management and never got answers for a missing check. Just shady answers. They just put a $50 3 day hold on a $250 cashier's check that I deposited via the ATM. I called customer service and was.told that this could happen at the bank manager's whim.

I have been working with Marie, and she has shown nothing but great customer service. I have been a long time BofA customer but you dont get this level service from them unless you have a $1M+ in the bank. Great response to calls and emails with personable customer service to my business needs!
