Bank of the West Pacific Ave, Santa Cruz

Unhappy with the bank these days but I saw a review of Jeanne, the teller and I was shocked. She has been absolutely hands down one of my favorite people there. She deserves 5 stars. I can't imagine a world where someone could call her spiteful. Weird.

The slowest bank on earth. How is it that every time I come here even if there's a couple people I always have to wait 30 minutes for a teller.

I'll start with the positive - the customer service provided by the tellers is excellent. This was the reason I chose to switch to Bank of the West after visiting the branch. I figured if their tellers were that good, the rest of their services would follow suit. Then there's the reason I'm switching back to my old bank - the policies around holds on checks deposited and fees on the account are antiquated and unfair to customers. Mobile deposits take 2 weeks to clear, which is frustrating to say the least. Combine that with the fact that the mobile banking customer service is unable (or unwilling) to help left me missing my old bank. Then the fees started... Although my "free" checking account is only a month old, I've incurred more fees than the past decade at BofA. I loathed BofA for their customer service but at least they are a little more fair and honest to their customers. I'm sorely disappointed by my experience with Bank of the West.

Bank of the West has been the best bank in my 51yrs, and this branch is no exception. Kind staff, always accurate and always helpful. I and my businesses have banked with well over 20 different banks. All have made me want to leave. I've banking personally with Bank of the West in numerous cities for over 20yrs, though. I always come back.

Worse bank ever. I’m a disabled man with no leg. This bank took my $110,000.00 and lost it. They have no idea where my $110,000.00 is. Now they are telling me that if I walk into the branch they will call the cops. As of now they have my $110,000.00 and I can’t get it because they have no idea where they sent my money. This bank took $110,000.00 from me and now they saying they are gonna call the cops if I come in the branch. Where in the world does this happen? Bank of the west is a crook.

Absolutely the worst bank you could ever walk into. If you like extremely rude tellers and snail speed service than this is your bank. Watch out for Jeanne, she is the most spiteful teller you could have. I love Bank of the West but this branch is absolutely atrocious and gives BOTW a terrible name, I don't know who manages this bank but corporate needs to seriously address the Santa Cruz downtown branch.

I was forced to deposit my paycheck in the ATM yesterday because this Branch had 2 employees working right before closing at 4:30. It's caused me a huge issue the third issue with this Branch this month. And again the manager Ruben Munez was unwilling to help. I was trying to talk about this and expressed my frustration to a bank employee named Tammy. She spent the entire phone call talking over me literally. I've never had such bad customer service and never gotten any help when I have issues in my life. I'm going to complain on every single website that I can find including the Better Business Bureau and I'm going to close my account soon. Never ever get a bank account here!!!

AWFUL!!! Hard to find, long waits for simple transactions, and by far the rudest tellers. Take your money somewhere else they don’t deserve it!
