Bank of America (with Drive-thru ATM) Reviews

I been doing business with this bank for 3 years because they had a free checking account for students, my experience with this bank has been average, nothing to get excited about. The Abilene location looks old and outdated compared with other banks in town. ATM seems to have problems with deposits very often. If you're looking for a good bank to do business, I will tell you not to put it as your first option unless you're a student

Their ATM literally stole my money, after going inside the bank the lady inside said they couldn’t open the ATM since they use a third party provider for their machine. She told me to contact support, I was credited the amount lost, after their investigation they couldn’t find my deposit even though the footage shows me putting money in their ATM and the credit was deducted from my account (I even contacted the CFPB, and Bank of America regulatory service never answers my calls even though they told me to contact them with extensions.) Aside from this event, their system for clerk-teller deposit is outdated, majority of the time tellers manually count your deposits instead of using a teller cash recycler (TCR) causing lines within the bank to be stagnant most of the time. All in all looking forward to close my account solely due to this branch. tl;dr shady ATM’s, concierge doesn’t care if you lose money, tellers are slow.

Tell everyone how you were so awful to my elderly Mother after losing her husband. Tell everyone how you tried to steal his money. Only a fool would use this "bank".

I just wanted to thank Bank Of America, as a whole company. Because my roommate was late on rent and I had to pay his part, I was able to use the “bank assist” program while I wait on funds it order to avoid any further late fees. I’m just grateful to have such an amazing bank!

    Response from the owner

After years of banking, it's time to switch to a local bank. Abysmal customer service, always one teller per 5 customers every time I walk in, while other banks have 5 tellers easily per one customer even during COVID Terrible and outdated bank policies compared to other local banks. It's ridiculous when you can't even deposit $1 for your mother when she "does not have you on her account". Other competitors do not require this mundane policy. End of rant, queue in the generic response from corporate:

Called multiple times with no answer. The bank looks virtually shut down during the summer because grass grows through the cracks of the parking lot and no drive thru banking because they are going digital. I would rather trust a liquor store in the hood with my finances.

Update As of 3/2020, The service has been better. There have been 2 tellers working on my last three visits and the lines have moved faster. UPDATE 2/10/2020: No question that this is the worst bank experience I have had by far. I have banked here for going on 5 years and the turnover rate is similar to a 7-11 convenience store. Now that they have shut down the drive through windows the service is getting worse. There was a customer at the counter that walked away to talk to another Bank Rep. about an appointment and did not return for 3-4 minutes, meanwhile the teller , who sat there and waited for the person to return, said nothing. A customer had to remind the absent lady that she was not finished and was holding up the line, Meanwhile the other BOA staff members 2-3 of them casually walked back and forth in and out of the teller area appearing to look busy. No one was ever called to the front to help. 10 -12 people in line when I left. On another note: Today I stopped to help a lady w/a walker get over the curb without hurting herself, it was raining and cold. This is not the first time I have seen customers that cannot move around well have to hobble into this branch with walkers and canes and stand in long lines while the Employees stand by like they don't care. I would be embarressed to work at this location. Update 6/11/2019, All drive through lanes are closed permanently, no more drive up services. Great decision, when the customer service is lacking , let's close the drive through lanes. Saving $$ probably. So now everyone has to park and go inside. One great teller there, consistent service and always helpful..since no one had name tags I cannot tell you who she is. All of the tellers I knew by name no longer work there?? We have had a Commercial Account there for 13+ years and now we are changing to Chase Bank near Firestone. Recommend that others do the same. PREVIOUS POST... Been banking there for 3-1/2 years, Commercial Daily Deposits. This year starting 3-4 months ago the wait at the drive through has been excessive. Pulled up today, no one else in any drive through line, waited 3-4 minutes for teller to come to window, then another 8-9 minutes to deposit $187.00 in cash. Deposit slip was already filled out and everything was in order. The staff seems to turn over every 4-6 months and the Customer Service suffers. My Company name is Ewing Irrigation and I am Kevin McCarthy. Just want to put that out , I don't like anonymous posts.

I wish I could give them 0 stars, they have earned it. This review is due to at least 6 visits. Every single time I walk into this bank to conduct business it is a huge hassle. Customer service is at an all time low. They suck, they are rude, they are incredibly unhelpful and they are oh so slow. Worst bank in Abilene, I will be moving all of my accounts elsewhere.
