Do not get the COVID extension, it’s only beneficial to them. They charge one percent off your principal when it’s supposed to be free. Then they only push your payment to the end of the loan so now you have to pay more!! They don’t disclose that at all and when calling they are so rude and disrespectful. You would think these people have any kind of humanity but they don’t. Avoid this place at all costs if you’re able to

This company is a joke. I have to drive and drop off my truck payment in person and watch them process it, because of prior mishandling of my payment. I got a call today that my payment wasn’t received. This isn’t the first time. It’s the third. I’ve had them call and tell me that they found my check weeks to months after mailing them. It’s not a huge inconvenience dropping it off, but it’s definitely not what I want to be doing with my time, and definitely doesn’t put them high on a professional pedestal. If you have other options don’t go here. If they’re your only option get used to babysitting them. Good luck.

I had a very nice experience here. I had bought a car from a private party. When I went to register it BT&L were still listed as the lien holder. I spoke with a CSR and she looked into it with a few docs I sent her and we resolved the issue. Went to pick up the release and a counter person helped me. All in all a simple courteous transaction. Good Job folks.. it's good to see good service.

If you make your payment on time, you'll never feel negative toward this company. This company is pretty awesome. I've had a few issues in the past with making a payment, and they were all over me, but I can't put the blame on them for that. They have worked with me to make sure that the experience is great. It's been over 4 years now, and i'm very pleased. Making a payment over the phone is very easy, and as long as you follow the program and pay your payment on time, you'll never have a problem. Honestly, I don't get all the complaining on the reviews...... Pay your damn payment.

I got my Loan through Balboa Thrift and Loan, nothing bad to say everyone I dealt with was very courteous and nice, I set my payment on automatic payments never had an issue, paid off my Loan, within 2 weeks received my Title, now looking for a new vehicle and hoping to work with this lending company again.

So my fiancé decided to get a loan with these people !I wish he never started dealings with him.They are rude ,they talk over you and they transfer your account from person to person every month.I decided to take over the telephone calls and dealing with them because my fiancé would always hang up and be mad .So I kept wondering what was going on and why he was always so mad until one day I listened in on the conversation.This man started going off on my fiancé talking about you have. 30,000 dollar truck and haven't made a payment .Now mind u the pandemic had just started so we were struggling .The truck was repoed and we never got our beats back to the truck.The beats was tooken out ‼Yes y'all the person that towed it be stealing people stuff .All that happened in 2021 or 2019 one of them but anyway .Here we are in 2022 and they be harassing people still like crazy .Do not and I mean I repeat do not do any kind of dealings with balboa thrift & Loan.

They don’t let u refinance when ur score goes from 640 to 799. They are incompetent they said I owe 532$ to pay everything off. I sent in a payment 3 weeks ago and they received it 2 days later since it went through my Wells Fargo bill pay. so they didn’t close out my loan it accumulated $1 they told me 2 weeks ago they would just write it off I called last week because they didn’t and I requested a receipt they said they would email they verified my email never sent it so now I’m still waiting 4/20/2021 so I have to call again for the same thing. INCOMPETENT UNTRUSTWORTHY. Go through a real financial company, this was my first car and loan the dealership set me up with them. Do your research before you agree to this. And set my APR to 19% never let me refinance so I paid well over 5k$ for a freaking Camry.

I would like to give negative 5 stars but obviously we cant. I bought a car from a franchise dealer who set me up with this incompetent bank. My car loan is due on the 23rd, however I start getting calls on the 9th and every other day asking for a payment?🤔 And when they do call politeness is not in the vocabulary but after you say fine take a payment the process starts all over again like it's the first conversation we have ever had. I've never dealt with them in person but we will now. Read the reviews they are accurate and bank with ANYONE else except Balboa Thrift and loan!!

I paid them 5000$ in interest because they wouldn’t let me refinance I was so upset when I wrote this I paid 5k extra I meant the total I paid them was 9k. Do not ever use this company
