Access National Bank bites and recently acquired our local bank. We are moving our personal assets and the business accounts in a few short weeks. I cannot believe that Middleburg Bank sold out to these people. The customer service is out sourced, the bill pay options have changed dramatically and it is difficult to talk with a real person.

All prior phone numbers no longer work. Calling on line phone number directs the caller to an answering service which requires you know the name of a person, trying to operate on line from a cell phone has been impossible. My 19 yr experience with its predecessor spoiled me to expect personal service. Soon after Atlantic took over my passwords were canceled without warning I was unable to access on line banking. It appears that the canceling of passwords may be a repeating phenomena. I am now waiting on a phone call from my local branch as I had to call an on line number which was a hundred miles away asking them to have a local contact me so I can once again get access to my accounts.

Poor customer service. I set an appointment online to open an account, then received a call about 20 minutes before the appointment asking me to bring in materials they needed to open the account. They never said what these materials were, but said they would send an email. I was already on my way in to the bank so it wouldn't have mattered anyway, but it's been several days and still no email.

My opinion of business banking improved dramatically after working with Rafael Martinez at Access National Bank. He is an outstanding banker! He's helped me with getting access to capital, day-to-day operations, and a host of other needs, making my business management so much easier. I am so thankful for Rafael and Access National Bank!

I was moved to this bank after it acquired Middleburg Bank last year. Middleburg had a location in the Reston Town Center area and was quick and convenient. Access National is way out on the eastern edge of Reston, a nook in the lobby of an office building you reach after climbing like 20 stairs. You can't just walk in, you have to be buzzed in when the teller finally sees you at the door. Its online billpay system is clunky and so not intuitive. The tellers are competent and nice. They boost my rating to 2 stars.

I recently opened a banking account for my small business with Access National Bank. It just so happened that the opening of my account coincided with the merger of Access and Middleburg Bank. A merger is never easy and there are lots of moving parts; however, I am happy to say that throughout the process Access was very responsive to the unforeseen glitches that come with such an endeavor and I could not be more pleased with the customer service I have received.

Access, Rafael, Tahirah, Carlos, and Ben...They have all been so instrumental in my financial successes. They say never mix business with friends. I do all the time with them and it has only worked in our favor. Why not succeed with friends? Thank you Access for the attention and pains you go through with me. The worst bank EVER! They took over my Middleburg account and treated me like @rap. No ATM anywhere near me, can only go to branch office during working hours. Hey, I work too!
