Amscot - The Money Superstore E Hillsborough Ave, Tampa

Okay I had a different experience with Amscot. This time I was running late and I needed to get the service as quick and as understanding as possible and honestly I wasn't expecting that to happen. But here came Ms. Janet, She was extremely patient, helpful and cooperative. I was having a bad day and I was late but my day just got a little brighter because of her. I just wanted to thank her for her kindness.

No one works at Western Union windows.

Lots of employees, not a lot of customer service. It was very slow and tellers were not very friendly. Had to use my own pen to sign my check and not even a tootsie roll after waiting 15min at the window to cash 1 check. It's not like I was there on a weekend night. It was a Monday and they were not busy. Shame on the Amscot on Hillsborough Ave.

I had a great experience! Sometimes you have to wait but they normally treat every customer with the same respect etc .

I was in the line for 10 minutes and then had to leave as western union is on the other side and nobody attended me and the employese were not friendly or helpful at all. I will never walk into the amscot in Hillsborough and 22nd again.

You know what you're getting in to when you decide to come here. At the beginning of the month, expect to wait longer for services than usual. The staff is friendly and they do seem to be aware of how to manage large crowds when they arise. Be cautious of the transient individuals who happen to post up outside of the building waiting for loose change or their own payday. Lots of traffic going IN or OUT of parking lot.

No one spoke one word to me for almost ten mins. People that came in after me were helped and out before anyone even said hello. I can see 5 people working but only 2 people at the windows, the others weren't doing much. When I was finally helped the gentleman was polite, but over all terrible customer service!

So I am from Tampa. Lived here my whole life. Today I had the most HORRIBLE experience that I have ever had at any amscot, EVER. Any time I have ever had any issues at Amscot, the staff was always professional and persistent in making me feel satisfied and willing to return. NOT THIS TIME. To make a long story short, my husband went to make an &1100 money order for our monthly rent and the gentleman behind the counter asked for his ID. (I have never heard of amscot ID'ing customers for money orders and I have been going to this location making money orders for almost ten years) None the less, I felt my husband was being discriminated against and racially profiled. I asked the Manager to explain the policy, in which she replied amscot reserved the right to ID anyone for a money order. I asked based upon what guidelines do you determine who to ID and who to not? She repeated the same scripted line. At this point I wanted my money order and just to leave. I was given back my ID and money order without the gentleman saying anything other than 'have a nice day'. I walked out, looked down and thought I saw one money order for $1000. I quickly walked back in to see where the extra $100 was, when the gentleman informed me there was two money orders. A common mistake to make as they were still stuck together and he had not mentioned they were both inside. A young snotty woman by the name of Grace laughed loudly (in front of the mgr) as she walked up to the gentleman that helped me. She thought this was hilarious. I asked if she thought it was funny. She said yes and continued to laugh heartily. I let her know I saw it all and would be calling corporate. She laughed and shrugged replying 'ok'. I called corporate and made a complaint and am looking forward to hearing from the district manager tomorrow. I can't say I will continue to use amscot.

Horrible experience! Very poor customer service, very unprofessional, no one greets you and the wait time is ridiculous every single time. I wish there was another location near me so I could avoid this Amscot branch. Signed, a loyal customer with too many bad experiences at this branch.
