This store is always a pleasure. The staff now recognizes me, and we have little chats while I'm there. My only wish is that they would open a store in North Port, FL.

I was asked to provide my social security number to "purchase" a "free" money order that I intended to use to pay my rent. I was offended and felt racially profiled. Discrimination is an issue here and needs to be investigated by corporate. I will never return to this location ever again. I have never had an Amscot location ask for my social security number to purchase a money order ever for any reason ever. Something is wrong with the guy at the window. I purchased a money order from there before with no issues and was not asked to provide my SSN the first time so I was confused. In the era of identity theft running rampant NO Amscot you cannot have my SSN or my business ever again to get a free money order. Is that even legal!? I wasn't asking to borrow funds or for a payday loan at all. All I wanted was to get a money order using my own cash! Shady. Ended up going to Walmart and paid $3.00 and they didn't need my ID or SSN.

I have to go there once a month have for over 2 yr. I have tatoos visable treat me just fine.

Don't listen to those other reviews unless you support discrimination. I am a professional Google ad words specialist certified by Google as well as one of their level four local maps guides and an entrepreneur & business owner. I can't cash my checks at THIS location only because I have tattoos on my arm and I'm a 36-year-old man and that's it. On Bee ridge road they cash my checks every single time. Check out Kmart they have a much better deal.

Always been good to me. Stipulations yes.. unreasonable no... I'd advice to use. I also have tattoos just don't look like a thug I guess.
