    My family has been with Amica for over 30 years. Always had a good experience until we looked into our coverage in the event of fire which was prompted by Boulder County having the worst fire in Colorado history and a majority of the homes affected being grossly underinsured. After doing research, we found out that our house was also underinsured. When we requested to increase our coverage to the appropriate amount, we were asked to do a Hover video of our home which would be evaluated by Amica. We spent about an hour and did exactly what was requested and submitted the footage. When we had not received a reply from Amica after several weeks, we called and inquired where we were in the process of getting our house insurance amount increased. We were then informed that we had hit the amount Amica was comfortable insuring our house and there was nothing else we could do to increase it. Obviously we were disappointed, but that disappointment turned to anger when we shopped around and found out that State Farm and others were happy to insure us for the amount everyone told us we should be doing. I just called Amica to say we were cancelling our insurance, and they could have cared less. Obviously loyalty doesn’t matter at Amica, neither does customer service.

    I receive junk mail from Amica every month ensuring me that they can, as per their market research, significantly reduce my insurance payments (Auto and Home). I have on 2 occasions, called the number provided by them and spent half an hour going over all my details (don't know why they do not know most of this as they have my address and car info). I have never used Amica, so do not know the quality of their service. However, if their market intelligence is any indicator, they are way off - their quotes would double my payments - about $3000 more each year! So, they are not even ballpark, competitive. Complete waste of time - wish I could get off their subscription list and not receive this junk each month!!!!

    I was about to call to make a change to our policy, and after reading some of the bad reviews, I felt compelled to leave one of my own. Amica has been our insurance provider (auto, renter's) for the past 5 years, and our experience has been nothing short of exceptional. We've filed a number of minor claims (mostly auto glass stuff) in the time we've been with them, and every one has been resolved with 0 issue. When we added renter's insurance, their rep was very helpful. I had about 1000 hypotheticals for which scenarios my fiance's engagement ring would be covered under, and they were very clear (honestly surprisingly so) in describing our coverage. I've spoken with probably 10 or 12 of their reps in the time we've been with them, and they've all been great. Recently we traded in our car, causing our monthly bill to rise significantly. I was frustrated by this, and the cost increase did not make sense to me. Despite my frustration, the reps we spoke with were both very patient, and did a great job clarifying the reason for the price hike. Still, pretty much right after hanging up I contacted a handful of other reputable insurance providers for quotes to see if we were getting a competitive deal or not, and none of the other providers could match or even come close to the price we were getting for a similar policy. Nothing but great things to say on our end.

    I've been a customer for over 30 years, both auto and homeowners. My experience has been in line with the top insurance reviews which consistently rank Amica 1 or 2 for great customer service and good value. I've had claims for auto oops, repairs from water damage etc and have had uniformly prompt and responsive service. I periodically shop around and haven't found anyone with better reputation or rates.

    I called and tryed to get a quote this morning and Mike was very in professional and even laughed at me. I work in the auto body industry and heard good things. Not true... Move on to someone else. Horrible customer service. Thanks Mike for nothing.

    Been with the company for over 10 years, never had a single claim. I got hail damage to my roof and had 2 inspectors and 3 different roofing companies tell me that it was clearly hail damage. Amica sent out there adjuster and I got told it was just faulty shingles and they wouldn't approve my claim. I was paying almost $500 a month to them which is more than double anywhere else and they wouldn't even think about helping me. I will never use them again.

    I've had Amica for over 10 years and they have been great for me. I had a major hail claim on my car several years ago, and then the same thing for the roof on my house, with no problems. They are always professional and prompt.

    Overall I am incredible unhappy with the service I have received at Amica during the claims process, I would give 0 stars if that was a option. My wife and baby were rear ended while stopped in traffic which totaled her vehicle. The staff I contacted to report the accident were very nice and responsive and gave me all the information I needed at the time. That is where the professionalism began and ended. Once the claim was handed off to the adjuster it began my 1-2 month nightmare which continues to this day. I have had many questions and concerns about the process and that has been answered with the response that I am all to tire of hearing, "I'm afraid that is a different department." Great, that is fine, can you get me the answer? No, 100 times over the answer was no and it took a week for them to tell me that. At the onset of the process I asked, if the car is totaled, should we expect full market value for the car? The response I got was "I have no idea." Oh, cool let me stress about you screwing me over for the next week. They will not respond to emails, nothing in writing. Over the phone they are incredibly careful with their words, painfully and suspiciously careful. Mind you we were not at fault in this accident, the other insurance company has taken full liability. Still, talking with them on the phone makes me feel like I am talking with a adversarial attorney. They had endless sympathy for the at-fault insurance company and next to none for us. Numerous times in the process I felt like I needed a lawyer just to talk with them. Had I known they were going to handle this in this way I would have never gone through them and worked entirely with the at-fault insurance company myself. This is what your coverage is worth EVEN when Amica is going to get every cent back from a at-fault party they still handle the situation like you are trying to swindle them in some manner. Guess what? We didn't want to get rear ended! Nobody asks for that to happen and I could not be more disappointed in just the lack of sympathy let alone the utterly terrible service. At the end of it I am out a few hundred dollars in out of pocket expenses and I have sent numerous emails asking how/when that would be reimbursed and it has been met with complete silence. This claim won't cost them a dime and yet I am out hundreds, fantastic. I lie in waiting for them to increase my rates soon. I don't know if their employees are completely overwhelmed, overworked or they are understaffed. Frankly, I don't care. I know that they are not lowering my premiums to account for their diminishing service. I expected to be treated fairly and have my claim process quickly and to make me whole again after an accident that was not our fault. If this is how they handle this type of situation, imagine how they will treat you if you have some liability.

    I had to rate it at 1 star because I cant rate negative 3 stars. Kicked me off the policy after 1 accident. The person I talked to was very nice and took care of the whole situation, I thought everything was going to be ok. 2 months later I get an envelope in the mail saying they are kicking me off the policy. After a 13 month nightmare talking to lawyers and insurance companies, I thought it was finally over. But I couldn't get a break. Horrible insurance company, spend your time and effort elsewhere.

    I've been with Amica for 15+ years and have had nothing but good experiences with them. We've only filed a handful of claims during this time, but every single time it was handled quickly and professionally. I'm frankly surprised at some of the low ratings on here because my own interactions have always been excellent. We occasionally consider shopping around for better rates, but the customer service keeps me with Amica.
