The WORST BANK! There have been issues from day one starting with problematic online banking, credit card service payment processor started through a third party company which made it difficult to make the payments and seeing balance information and payment history. This was not just annoying but immediately I knew it was a mistake to start a financial relationship with them. There have been annoying little problems with customer service over the past three years, agents giving incorrect information on previous payment history on auto and personal loans, then the $10.00 fee for making your payment if made by debit card through another bank. There were times I called to make payments and the c/s stated that in order to process they needed to call me back?! A protocol I had never heard of but they stated it was necessary. Again annoying. There has rarely been a time I have had to deal with them that something didn’t come up. I got tired of paying the fees for payments so I switched our direct deposit hoping to help the annoyances become less. A month ago my husband suddenly could not get gas...called them the next day to find they locked our account because we were past our ten day grace on our loan. So we could not have access to any of our money until payment was made....basically holding our funds hostage! Bottom line your in for troubles in dealing with this bank and basically they make all the big banks look like Gold Medal Champions compared to this headache of a credit union. I highly suggest anyone thinking of doing business here of ANY kind to rethink it.
5/7/2022 Update Our new online and mobile banking app launched last month and it is fantastic. We've gotten 4.8 - 5.0 Star Mobile App and home banking platform reviews and we are so happy to report that this upgrade has solved small inconveniences. It has greatly improved the experience of our members. From the online banking and mobile app you can now access convenient Chat support, easily transfer money between accounts, add external accounts from other financial institutions and transfer money back and forth, pay bills, transfer money to other members' accounts, easily access e-statements, transaction lists, and 1099 and 1098s. In addition you can apply for auto loans, credit cards and consumer loans using our easy and fast online application feature (the old online application was very cumbersome and time consuming!). We are pleased to make this huge leap in technology because we care about our members and member service! Our members are our owners and we want to give them the very best experience possible. Original Response: Hi Cheryl, Thank you for your feedback. We have been working the last year 2021-2022 to upgrade our technology, which is a three part process. Part one is complete. We upgraded our online applications to streamline the loan process, making online applications easier to use. The second part of the process comes in about 4 days. On Monday March 28th, our online and mobile banking platforms will be down for a much needed upgrade. This will solve a lot of the small annoyances that our members have with online and mobile banking and smooth out the online experience. The third implementation to our tech upgrades will come in April/May 2023. This upgrade will completely transform our digital banking platform, elevating it to state of the art technology. This last upgrade will bring our members the ultimate in banking services. We wish we could make all of these changes immediately. But because of the sensitivity of our industry, the need for accuracy, and compliance with state and federal regulations, upgrades take time. I first opened an account after moving here. It’s been a great experience being a member with a company that really participates in the community around them. Now I work here and it has been an even better experience. I’m surrounded by intelligent, competent people who really care about our members and their co-workers. We have health insurance, a 401k retirement option, life insurance, a volunteer and community outreach program, a financial education program….Plus management is introducing even more benefits to employees over the next two years. Now it’s getting even more exciting because we are introducing a new digital and mobile banking platform to our members in the next 4-6 months. It is fun to be part of these changes and growth.

I have been a customer of ASCU for the past 8 years. I am always met with a smile when I enter the credit Union. Anyone who helps me inside the branch is always helpful, polite and friendly. I have had an occasion where I needed to speak with someone from the customer service center and they, too, are always very kind and helpful! I am exceedingly pleased with my experience.

Recently opened an account after moving to sierra vista, applied for a credit card and the so called credit person charlene never got back to me. At any other institution this would have been handled in 15 minutes or less. Then when I went in to see the bank manager (FAY) I was told she was in a meeting, so I left my phone number with the front desk individual to call me. You guessed it she never called. I closed my account. Never have I experienced a operation that is this lax and opposed to customer service.

I have been with this bank for the last 10 years. When i had no credit they helped me build. Whether i needed a new vehicle. Or help with repairs and didnt have the funds they always found a way to get me through each situation. They are nice and friendly and if your just graduating or have no credit they are worth talking too to find out what you can do to get your credit started.

Literally my first ”bank” ever, was a very skeptical person when it came to putting my money in other peoples hands but ASCU was a credit union that helped me invest in other institutions. Despite certain hiccups, like delayed paid out transactions, I have grown to appreciate the aspect of putting my money away safely in places such as this. The fact of it being a credit union made me more comfortable as well.

Been sitting on hold for over 15 minutes. During the process of opening an account both checking and savings no one bothered to ask if I wanted to make mobile deposits so now I have to wait in line AGAIN to complete more paperwork that they FAILED to provide during the first hour I sat in their lobby. Still haven’t received my ATM card etc. incompetent staff.

I'd give them negative stars if I could. All I can say is if the account holder dies and you are the beneficiary better not need the money to put them in the ground. They took over 30 days to hand over my mother HER money not theirs HERS that they refused to give her the day she arrived at the Sierra Vista location with death certificate in hand from out of town after releasing her son's ashes...do they tell the live account holder they must wait to close an account?

Update: We apologize there was a delay in releasing funds for your family. Releasing funds for an account is not taken lightly because there are items that need to be checked on before we can clear the account for release. In general, these items might include credit card balances, incoming transactions that have not cleared, loan balances, Power of Attorney paperwork if that is applicable, etc. In addition to clearing those items for accounts in this situation, our person in charge of the death certificates was out for a few days which further delayed the release of funds. Your comments are appreciated and we are looking in to training a second person for this task.

I have been a member of the credit union for approximately 28 years. I love interacting with the staff whenever I have to do business there. Ms. Fee and her staff are the most courteous and caring people. I rate their service quality at 100% plus. I have never experienced any problems with your staff in giving immediate attention to my needs. They are to be commended. Service with a smile. KUDOS!!!

I went to a few banks before I opened my account with ASCU years ago. They were friendly, and always beyond helpful. I was a single mom who needed to be an adult and get a bank account. After wasting time at two other banks. I went here. And have never left! They have been amazing to bank with, and have also helped me with a loan to purchase my vehicle.
