This company is the worst, most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with. I closed on March 11th made my first payment May 1st. Then they sold my mortgage after 1st payment. Know there sending me letters saying I don't have insurance. How could I get a mortgage with out insurance. Dum azzs. Then today July 14th I get a voucher for 199 dollar's for insurance. Beware of the company. I all ways read reviews on business before I decide which one to use. I went through my bank not knowing that they use other companies. DONT USE AMERICAN FINANCIAL RESOURCES.

Never done business with American Financial Resources ("AFR"). Got a letter that someone accessed our personal sensitive data file from their computer systems. First Where and How did they get our personal data and why didn't they protect it. Letter says their data breach happened back in December and they sent the letter about the breach in March. They took this long to notify?

Having someone call me and ask me multiple questions about my home and then just hang up abruptly has got to be the rudest thing I've ever experienced from someone. If your paying people to interrupt me during the day to try and refi my home over the phone you need to restructure your training/hiring process.

I mailed in my first payment as requested by AFR to turn around almost two weeks later claiming they have not received it to this current date 08 December 2021. It is a shame that anyone have to make a double payment just to not be considered late. This business must do better. The first change I get next year, I will be getting rid of AFR immediately!

Maybe... just maybe this will get some traction. I have tried to make a payment(not late just standard) for a week now. I go online, I can not make a payment because the online payment system says I can not use this system right now and gives me a 1-800 number... so I call the 1-800 number. I again wait to make a payment. I can not use the automated system so I am directed to a rep, and for some reason I am always directed to the wrong representative because they always have to transfer me to someone else that apparently is supposed to be able to take my payment. I tried to stay patient this past Tuesday and my patience got me no where, but spending an hour and a half being transferred over 4 times, disconnected twice, to again not be able to pay my bill. It should not be this hard give an organization money. I contacted customer service on Tuesday and via their online customer service message board. I got a response back today(Thursday) giving me a 1-800 number!!! Seriously!!! So I called the 1-800 number just to again have a rep answer within in 5 minute wait time to have to transfer me to someone else and then I was disconnected on. I can’t even set up automatic payments because the payment portal is down online. I don’t understand how they are still a bank making money because they clearly don’t want to take mine!!!!

It took us over 6 months to close, they kept asking for more money because this or that had expired. Horrible...the process was the most painful experience of my life and I have a top credit score and they treat you like you are not worthy....STAY FAR AWAY!!

We closed on our house in Florida three years ago with AFR with no problems. Since then I have had no problems communicating with them or retrieving my monthly statements from their website. They notify me every month by email when they receive my mortgage payment. I recommend them to everyone.

Where do I begin. My husband and I were matched with AFR through a Broker that we trusted 1000% so we knew this would be a quick and easy process just like our experience with the Broker had been on a previous property. Well boy were we wrong! Our loan got to 191 days, for something that was supposed to close in 30-60 days. We provided every single document requested, we were told on the 191st day by the broker that we would be cleared to close within a week. That week passed and nothing, meanwhile my builder has decided he no longer wants to work with my husband and I because he no longer trusted our financing (how embarrassing). So at day 200, we requested that the madness had gone on long enough, and we asked to withdraw the loan. Went with a local bank the builder suggested CLOSED IN 30 days!!!!!! Never heard back from AFR until day 228, and it was a letter “denying our loan application” HOW?!? and we withdrew the loan. I have never in my life dealt with such poor customer service and continuous dishonesty. I should have read these comments before I was involved with them but it was too late! Whatever you do, DON’T DO iT!!!!! I have never cried so much in my life.

This company is horrible. They have lost payment. Sold loan in house and changing the account number causing the payments to not go through. Cashing mortgage payments and not applying them to the loan, then claiming that the payment was late. Refunding the money two months later. This has been reported to the credit bureau. Dropping credit scores. to

I have been dealing with AFR for 9 or 10 months now trying to close a simple fha loan . i have been calling and leaving messages with all the employees on my loan paper work and cant get a call back i have called customer service and can not speak to a real person or get a call back . i need someone over there to call me back ASAP 9 months is unreasonable

Trash loan company. Sold my loan to the highest bidder after only having it for two months and then changed their website entirely so I couldn't retrieve the loan number to progress to my new loan company. When I called they kept hanging up on me.

Received a letter from AFR saying our information was compromised in "an incident" in December including Names, ss# and drivers license #. Telling us in March.

Worst mortgage company ever employees never know what’s going on you can call 5 times in a row and will get told something different every single time very unprofessional will lie right too your face

I am a mortgage loan originator for AFN. And must inform those who are unhappy with AFR that they are grossly mistaken. This is a company run by top shelf individuals. I work with them every day. Rakesh is not only one of the best mortgage bankers I know he is very focused on his clients and taking great care of them. I would like to advise the others complaining about AFR. Your incorrect! I have borrowers that are friends of mine telling me they have been in process with Brand "X" for 5-6 months and don't have a closing date yet. Has anyone sat back and realized we are in an economic upheaval, we are have socio-economic problems and to mention a 20% unemployment rate in our minimum wage earners. Not to mention the 40,000 homeless people roaming the streets of LA every night. Oh yes, and don't forget appraisers are independent contractors and are very not exited about entering a home to do an appraisal. Please stop blaming AFR for the problems created by politics. Our country is in trouble, support the essential workers like us in the business who face-to-face clients every day so far through out this pandemic & economy. This has got to be the biggest POS company ever! I've been under contract since October to purchase a mobile home. Thanks to this company, I've not only lost my dream home but I've lost $1325 also. They keep asking for "more information" and I've given them everything they have asked for except a DNA sample. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!!!!
