America First Credit Union W 3500 S, West Valley City

I have been with this bank since i moved here in Utah back in 2017, and i have been trying to fix my credit and i tried to apply for a loan and didn't get approved. They said they were going to call me back and let me know about the result and waited for a week and they never did. Now im going to close all my accounts and take it to another bank maybe that bank might be able to offer me a loan.

Showed up to sign some papers for a home equity line. Waiting for 10 min and then asked who was sitting in the Branch managers office if someone could help us. His reply was they had 2 people call out and he doesn't even work at this location.

Your just a number to this business. It has been the same story almost every time I have gone to this location. Long line and only 2 employees at the counter but you can see other employees not doing anything. This time again only 2 employees at the counter working and two others not helping customers. And then you could see the drive through employees and only 1 of the 3 were helping a customer. Off to the side there were 2 other employees not doing anything and apparently were bored because one left there desk to chat with the other one. About 9 of us were in line waiting. The one employee that went to talk with the other one was still talk together when I left. So at least 20 minutes. In total, 11 customers plus the drive through. With 9 employees, but only 3 helping. Not sure how many others were not in sight. The employees at the counter that do work are always friendly though.

Not a fan of this credit union especially this location. I did a skip a payment on my auto loan, which the teller did wrong so I now have a missed payment on my credit report. Thanks america first. Happy to never bank with this credit union again.

This is for all of the America First locations- I've got 5 different banks I use and they're my favorite. They are so quick, super friendly and I've never had issues with my banking. They've always been available to help with any issues. They are understanding and efficient. Will always bank with AFCU.

This location lines to see the teller are super long at anytime of the day. Worst customer service ever. I understand they're probably short staff but damn one person? A good day, if they have two tellers.

Only bank I'm working with. Great bank for loans,rates are very low. Also they always take care if their customers with warm smile.

I've been trying desperately to understand why I still owe 7k on one of my car loans and customer service has not been helpful whatsoever. They say interest is 90, then 110 goes to equity. But my loan has not dropped below 7k for the past year. They said they would email me the payment history and still have not received it. Makes me think these guys are swindling money if they won't be transparent with me and explain why I still owe this. I should be around 5260 instead of 7k.

These people say they’re all about their members and community. I think that is hilarious and far from the truth. It does not matter how long you have been a member. I have been a member for almost 2 decades. I have never had reason to step inside a branch or apply for anything. I recently started going in and have constantly been asked if I’m the member on the account even though I’m using my pin. It’s not routine because hello I’m standing behind other members and can over hear the greetings. I don’t think they believe I’m the card holder because my receipts never have my balance. If I purposely put my drivers license on the counter as I make my transaction it so happens my balance is on the receipt. I also applied for a loan to pay off some high interest accounts using my car as collateral and was denied and reason was they were worried I would turn around and recharge my cards and have more debt with the loan this time. My credit score was fine and my history of years of on time payments to all my unsecured accounts showed I’m trustworthy. I also think my history with them should prove the same. I wasn’t maxed out on creditors so if I wanted to continue charging I could. I didn’t need the loan to give me more money to charge away. I wanted a lower interest to pay things off faster. I have never been judged so harshly like I have with this bank. I am changing banks and hope to find a more respectable place and one where they don’t allow you to be loyal for almost 20 yrs and look at you and say sorry we know you’ll just charge your accounts after we pay them. Sorry we have to ask every single time you come in if you’re the card holder and leave the balance off but not ask other members the same question. It’s not just this location I have had a bad experience with. I did meet one person with respect and learned my name but one out of dozens makes no difference. If you just want a bank with no respect go ahead. If you want a bank who will respect you and be there for you it’s not your bank.

Customer service is awful. We waited for almost an hour to open an account. At least 5 or 6 employees walked right past us without saying a word or even smiling. Then we were told our cards would be mailed to us. We waited 2 weeks and didn't get anything. They send out your account number on every single thing they send you, so if someone else gets your mail you are pretty much screwed. We were worried someone had our mail, and were about to close our account when a customer service agent said that no one ever even mailed our cards (this is 3 weeks later). We also applied for a loan at one point, were told we were approved And the money would go into our account in 36 hours. When it didn't, they told us we weren't approved because of false information on our credit report (which isn't their fault, BUT they told us we were approved). And my last straw here was when my husband had his credit card stolen. I immediately canceled his card but they completely failed to mention that my card was the EXACT same number. When I found out and tried to cancel my card they left it open for 15 days. 15 days!!! They said so I could still use my card if I needed it (and apparently anyone that wanted to try an online transaction with that card number). Then we get new cards finally (in the mail a week later) and they changed our pin number without telling us! When I called customer service all they said was that the pin number should be the same. Well it wasn't!! What a joke!! I am personally happy with Mountain America.
