America First Credit Union N 500 W, Bountiful

Multiple business and personal accounts for over 10 years at AFCU. Went into this branch for an easy need (sheet of checks) that i have done in the past. Teller told me she couldnt do what was asking because "the system doesnt allow it...a box of checks has to be ordered for it to allow me to print a sheet" Asked for a manger to override, he came out and was incredibly rude, seemed upset i would dare disturb him, and insisted i purchase the full case of 1000 checks (ive only used 5 in 10 yrs...no thx) in order to to accommodate request, i refused and asked again, he then told me he wished i wasnt a member there (ive never met him before) and i should just take my accounts elsewhere. He then told the teller to print one sheet out and she did it just fine, no override needed, so thats just a blantant lie to get up-sales on the dying revenue of boxes of checks. He then took the sheet of checks, tore off one, voided it, handed it me and shredded the rest, telling me it was to prevent fraud?? My ID can cash out 8 accounts in 5 mins but god forbid we dare get a few check from one account without it being fraudulent?? 100% lies. I have never been treated so poorly at any bank ever.

Went to get an auto loan here. They had good rates but here is why I'm leaving 3 stars: the loan officer said they could rate match and since I had credit over 800, I would get 90 days no payment. Well, when we came to sign on it (48 hours after we requested the loan) they didn't have the correct rate on it. We had to go through hoops to get that fixed. My main frustration is that for some reason they didn't put on the loan 90 days no payments even though I qualified for it. I didn't realize this until after I had signed, so it was too late to do anything. Overall, their loan drafting skills were poor and it was very frustrating. Make sure they have everything correct because if they don't you're stuck.

Went here to cash a check. I have been to this location multiple times and cashed checks here before through the drive thru. I went there today and the supervisor was completely useless said I couldn’t cash my check because it was too high of an amount. So I would have to wait until their lobby opened. I have never had this issue before. Now there is a hold on my check and I can’t even cash it which I’m pretty sure she did. I have a sick dog I need to take to the vet, car bills, rent to pay. It’s ridiculous I will never go to this location again. If I were you I would bank anywhere but here.

If you ever need to talk to a loan officer go to Billie Jo, she’s so incredibly nice and helpful. Was getting frustrated with the teller (not her fault) she didn’t know what was going on with my account and Billie Jo helped me out and did it so quickly. If I have any problems in the future I’ll definitely ask for her! Love America first and have banked her for about 7 years.

Every month I come in to deposit money into a member's account today I was told I could not do that without the members account number or Social Security number. Every month for the past year I deposit the money take me to his account by giving the teller his name and his current address. I closed my account in the past due to having my pin taken Away by American first was told I could never get my PIN back therefore I cannot use my checking account for ANY purchases. I recommend mountain America 100% welcomed me with open arms with even a credit account limit of 1000 when American first only allowed 300 for me.

The other 1 star reviews on here are miss leading. I personally had the pleasure of working with Sam. Who got my auto loan all squared away and took the time to call me and update me at every point in the process. SAM DESERVES A RAISE I hope I get to hire an employee as amazing as her one day.

Sat in the drive through waiting for help. They helped 6 other cars and didn’t talk to me once as I sat there. Eventually I just left as it was clear they weren’t going to help me.

I would like to leave this on a survey, but not sure how. So I'll leave it here in hopes that some management person sees it. I've never done a wire transfer to another bank before. When going in, I asked: "If I do this wire transfer, and then the person on the other end doesn't hold up their end of the bargain, is there a way to get this money back?" The answer I was told: "Yes, but it could take awhile, up to 90 days to see a wire transfer returned." Now I'm out 430$ because I wasn't given the correct information. Wire transfers are like handing someone cash. There is nothing you can do to get your money back after its reached the other person's account. Would not have gone through with this if I had known. Frustrated with the scammer, more frustrated with here. (Side note, a manager has to oversee overseas wire transfers, and they didn't correct me either when I asked the same question. So it wasn't just a teller. However, I don't remember names very well and this was a few weeks ago so couldn't say who it was.)
