Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Do not even bother considering this credit union for anything. Typical, antiquated credit union business model, which by the way, relies on the fallacy of better service, better rates, 'member owned', etc. Trust me, they're a dying breed. You get significant better rates, better service, better offerings and better customer service from a bank. I wish I had read their horrible reviews before getting involved with them. Run. Try Discover Bank or Capital One 360. Much much better service offerings and rates.

There is not a big enough garbage can to fit ACU inside of. After 16 years, I am finally forced to close my account due to their terrible support. They are slow and inconsistent, and there are countless other banking options that do a better job.

I had to call in 5 times until someone was able to assist me properly with my auto loan. I will be closing my accounts here. War Eagle.

Extremely disappointed in ACU. I've been a member there for many years. Recently I transferred some money into my checking account only to learn that my checking account had been closed without my knowledge or consent. To top it off, they did accept my transfer into my "closed" account. If my account can receive transfers, then it's not exactly closed now is it? You would think a closed account would not be able to send or receive money but that's not the case over at ACU! Very very disappointed. Y'all email and text me over every little thing except apparently when your close my account. Shaking my head.

Lady was rude to me. I am mentally disabled, and I don't look like everyone else. I'll be honest, I look "weird" by Alabama standardsI felt they were rude when asking if I could open an account. But those of us who deviate from the norm should not be discriminated against.

Never disappointed with these guys. Always so nice and helpful. A loan officer Kristy Herring was so patient and did everything in her power to give me the best service! 10/10 recommend and will forever bank with these guys.

I've been a member for over 15 years. I will be going elsewhere. Firstly they seemingly have no loyalty to longtime members, phone wait times are very long, loan officers seem cold and uncaring, check depositing issues online, and they are dishonest with fees. I was proud to have ACU be my first checking account. Now, I will be happy to have lived and learned. Moreover, they were taking money out of my account monthly for a "lifestyle" checking account without asking my permission. Which is illegal, last I checked! They have a different checking option which is what I signed up for years ago. I was refunded the money taken but was told by Christine that members need to know about the fees and ASK specifically to be refunded. I am so disappointed, I feel like my time and loyalty would have been better appreciated somewhere else. Time for an upgrade!

I had just called to make a late payment on my truck, called the collections department to make the payment. I was never on hold, a lovely woman named Crystal answered the call. Very nice very easy to talk to, processed my payment, and wished me a happy birthday. Great customer service

The new branch on Skyland Blvd Tuscaloosa, AL is the worst ever. They expect you to give identification, sign the slip when making a DEPOSIT. Then I miswrote the number on the Deposit slip but had it correct on back of check and the teller could not find my account. Worst Ever!!! Indian hills and University branch are great

When I first started banking with ACU I could call my local branch and speak with someone in minutes and now it takes an hour or more to get someone on the phone. Seriously considering moving my funds.
