I would never use these people again for an auto loan. Got my son an auto loan here and cosigned for him. He is a young man so he had no credit and got him a decent rate at high 5s using me as a cosigner. The process went very smoothly and when it came time for me to purchase a car with my 700+ credit score and low debt to income, I was given a rate of over 8%. When I called to inquire about why I was given such a bad rate considering that I had cosigned for my son and my credit was considered strong enough to get him a lower rate I was told it was because they considered me higher risk because I was a cosigner for him. Went directly to a car dealership and got 4.9 with no problem. Credit unions are supposed to be known for giving great credit rates to deserving clients that have worked hard to establish their credit and been responsible. I would never ever use them again and would not recommend them to anybody I know.

My experience with your bank so far was quite satisfactory. However, now I tried to find CD rates on your website and failed. It should be easily accessible. Valery Pokrovsky.

    Response from the owner

Hi Valery! You can find all of our rates for Term Share Certificates at https://www.gtfcu.org/resources/rates#savings. You can always access this by selecting "Resources" on the menu and selecting "Savings."

The worst bank ever. I have been a lifelong member of credit unions in five states. This one is completely dysfunctional. Not sure what services they are providing. Every credit union I have been provides free checks to their member owners. This 'credit union' charges as much or more as do for-profit banks. Nobody answers the phones. This is not a credit union.

Every time I try to call them I'm stuck on hold for 20 minutes + , terrible customer service. They also never sent me registration information on my truck after they processed my auto loan. I gave them some time due to the DMV being closed from COVID but now have to wait on hold to try and get it fixed as I live out of town 2 hours away and my truck registration is going out.

I don't understand why people spend their hard-earned money to pay a bank to hold their money to do whatever the bank wants. It should be the other way around like at Aggieland Credit Union. For friendly and honest banking, trust Aggieland Credit Union.

    Response from the owner

Thank you so much for your review, Ruth! We agree and are delighted to hear you've been enjoying the benefits of cooperative membership!

I called to see what was required to open a teen account, was informed that any ID would worked. I asked if a school ID was good and they said yes and when I got into the branch I was turned away because I was informed that we needed a social security card and a state issued photo ID and that a school ID wouldn’t work. Drove 30 minutes after finding I had been told wrong. Was gonna come back that Saturday and called to check hours. The lady said the William Joel Bryan branch would be open but when we got there, the door was locked and no one would answer when we called. Horrible service, taking business elsewhere.

This used to be an easy institution to deal with online, but their new website is a disaster. It will time you out very quickly, it provides less information than previously (no check images, no filters for range of times, no information on external transfers, such as $ limits), and it records debits inaccurately, with no means of contact except by phone during business hours (no one attends to their online message option). I'll be happy to post another review if these problems are resolved. Thank you for your reply below. Unfortunately it is not very accurate or helpful. Reviewing my checking account using the banking guide you referred me to, results in images available for only a small number of checks posted (take a look yourself). Also, the information on the electronic fund transfer has indeed changed (the $1500 limit is now $750) and the agreement you referred me to declares, and I quote, "5. You agree that we may alter these dollar transfer limits without prior notice and at our sole discretion. You agree that we are under no obligation to temporarily or permanently alter these limits at your request." What a cheery note. Finally, I requested through your site's "secure messaging" a correction of a debit mistake made 4 days ago, but no correction has yet appeared on my account. The one star remains.

    Response from the owner

Hi Larry, thank you for reaching out about your concerns with our new online banking. Here's a quick list of how to find some of the things you mentioned in your review: Check images -- You can read about how to find your check images at https://mcompany.cld.bz/Greater-Texas-Aggieland-Credit-Union-Digital-Banking-Guide-Online-Banking-Desktop/14/ Filter time ranges -- Click the filter icon located immediately to the right of the search bar in your transactions tab. This will allow you to filter by amount range, time frames, and/or credit vs. debit transactions Transfer limits -- these limits have not changed and can always be found in our account disclosures (check the Electronic Funds Transfers Agreement & Disclosures located here: https://www.gtfcu.org/resources/account-disclosures If you feel like you are seeing debits post inaccurately, please call our technical support team (available 7am - 11pm CST) at (737) 444-8273.

App is fine to use and so it the website, but after much turmoil to create the account online. The bank itself is fine, the most annoying thing to me is the fact that they do not put our account number or other account information on the app or on the website. This is incredible annoying because the only way to get it is to come in person and write it down, get checks, or memorize it. All of these options are a hassle and I do not want to carry around a piece of paper with my important information on it for anyone to get a hold of or for me to loose. Please allow viewing of account information on the app and website soon.

    Response from the owner

Hello Kathryn, Thank you for sharing your concerns about viewing your account number online. We have reached out to you privately via email with some information about how to do this, so please be on the lookout for an email from [email protected]!

I've been a member for 20+ years and have multiple accounts - savings, checking, loans, business and personal, etc. I've always been extremely pleased with their services and have said so to many people. The online website USED to be a wonderful. It was easy and quick to sort transactions in multiple ways; easy to select date ranges; the debits and credits were in separate columns like they should be!; the font was dark enough to easily see instead of looking like something written with a pen that's running out of ink. Also, online access to statements is now imited to 3 months AND has been farmed out to an external website. The new website also has a banner across the top showing balances in ALL accounts regardless of whether the accounts are joint, or are in the member's name only. Bottom line, the "new" website could not be worse. Everytime I sign on it makes me angry all over again. It's so bad I'm giving the ACU 1 star, despite years of previous good experiences. Regarding the website, I have to assume that ACU prioritized saving money over providing customer service and satisfaction.
