Without going into too many details, my situation wasn't totally unique, but it did present a couple of minor obstacles. When I decided to buy a house (first time), I naturally wanted to use my personal bank for the financing. The house was a foreclosure and had been on the market for well over a year and was to be sold "as is". This is when my bank got nervous and started asking questions to my agent that had the potential to kill the deal. Cheryl was extremely knowledgable and informative about the entire mortgage process. She kept up on every tiny little detail and snafu that we encountered during our home buying process. Even though when we would go to her office, she would have stacks and stacks of file folders on her desk, which led us to believe she was dealing with many clients, every time we would call her, she would pick up with the details of our case without losing a single beat. She went above and beyond, researching specific things for us, for example, a flood insurance issue and how we should pursue dealing with it ourselves after purchase.
